I am just learning about these little ones. The ones I saw at the flea market actually looked like pigs but littler than a Guinea Pig. I'm very interested in getting one but I want the ones that look like a pig. They were $79 and I wasn't impressed on the care it seemed this lady was giving them. We love animals. This would be a good addition.

I recently bought myself a skinny pig a couple of days ago, and haven't her squeak once, not even at the pet store. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should bring her to a small animal vet?

As long as she is healthy, active, and eating fine there isn't really any reason to see a vet. Guinea pigs can make sounds, but they don't always, and yours is still getting used to its new hoome. If they do start chirping, rumbling, purring or squealing, the sounds indicate different things like being hungry, courting, aggressive, enjoying attention, just plain happy, etc.
