Julianna - 2021-04-15 I really want to get a ball python. I have never owned a snake before, but I read up on it a lot. The only problem is the price, the cost to take care of it, and my mom. I am young, so I have to have my mom's permission. However, she is entirely against getting a snake. Any advice on how to reassure her that my snake will be not dangerous? Even if I told her I would get a small, docile snake, like a Hognose, or a Corn snake, she still said no. :(

Valeria Trifecta - 2016-06-09 You can purchase them at PetsMart, for anywhere from 300$ to 500$
sarah - 2016-11-21 Don't buy from PetSmart or any other large chain pet stores. First of all they don't take care of their reptiles like they should. Second of all once they get to a certain age they just throw them away because they are harder to sell. Third of all they buy from farms who kill off the snakes who are born with traits that they see as undesirable. Buy from local breeders or look up a reptile convention somewhere near your area. Those tend to be the most reliable sources. The most helpful tool as Facebook and my experience.

jason - 2015-06-08 Why won't you do it? Too stupid? Oh, sorry... Don't have enough information? Here I thought lack of knowledge was the motive to research. You should have let the Indian Sand Boa stay where it was. You or your friend didn't rescue anything... especially if you took it without even knowing basic husbandry.
