One thing I noticed in the ailments discussion is a tarantula laying on it's back described as being sick. Tarantulas normally molt in this position and so is not an indication of illness. A dying tarantula curls it's legs under it's body like a clenched fist instead of flipping on it's back. Great discussion otherwise! Check out arachnopets.com for more information on tarantulas.

HEY I HAVE A TRUE ZEBRA TARANTULA AND IT CANT BE HANDLED BECAUSE IT'S DOCILE AND MOVES VERY FAST AND JUMPS AND IVE HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS OR SO. I GOT BORED WITH IT SO I BOUGHT A ROSE HAIRED TARANTULA YESTERDAY AND IT IS ONE OF THE KINDEST REPTILES I HAVE EVER HAD. I HOLD IT AND ALLOW MY 4yr OLD SISTER TO HOLD IT. SO TO ANYONE THAT WANTS A PET TARANTULA IF YOU ARE A BEGGINER ITS DEFINiTELY BEST TO START OFF WITH THE ROSE HAIRED BREED . WHATEVER YOU DO DONT CHOOSE THE ZEBRA BECAUSE IT LOOKS COOLER.

I have a bearded dragon called eddie, hes a sandfire colour. he is quite shy. he loves meal worms. when i shown him to my mates they kept sayin that he was an amazing pet and that they wanted one. i cant wait until he gets older, i would love to get another one and start to get them mating

I just got my tarantula today and it makes an awesome pet. For some it may not be the best but when it gets comfortable with you it is kinda cute. I say its awesome.

i have had my baby baboon for about a 5 days so far. he stay's in his burrow he constructed overnight. he is always making it bigger and changing it. he left an opening were i can see him during the day. he piles up cricket legs and roach nymph shells outside his lair of death. i have never seen him outside his burrow and i have not seen any molted exoskeleton, but he seems bigger looking already. he was an inch when i got him. cannot hardly wait till he is 5 inches plus.

Aloha!! I have a 4 year old female (as far as we can tell). She weighs in at 21 pounds. She is very precious and personable. Thank you for the info so I may better care for her. We live on Maui on an acre and she is a happy girl. And yes, VERY STRONG. Enjoy your tortoises!

Aloha again! Be careful what and how much you feed them. Their shells will pyramid and cause other shell problems, both top and bottom, some requiring shell surgery. ENJOY!

I got my spider 6 months ago. I've seen her molt, have funny moments with her prey,(crickets and mealworms) and I've even seen her rip her webs off the floor like a carpet and add bew ones. they are VERY interesting and I don't know why people call them "pet rocks".
