I just got two chug puppies. I got two so they could be together and plus they would never come apart. At first my mom only one but we agreed two would be best. One is her's and one is mine. There were six in the litter. My moms friend told us about them and on 11/28/2014 the puppies are going to get there first checkup. Mine has a little more Pug then Chihuahua. I got the fluffiest and biggest one. I did not get it because it was big and fluffy. I got it because it bonded with me and the other one bonded with my mom. I think the two will love it at there new home (my house). I got another dog since my other got stolen by his original owner. He said we could have him but then took him while we were on vacation.
I was heartbroken for a while since he was my best friend. My mom hated seeing me like that so she said we could go get a puppy (yet we got two). The chugs are so cute and i think i made the right choice for a dog. I have started doing research because they are coming home tomorrow ( today is 11/27/2014 ).

I have a beautiful year and a half old Puguawa girl. She's had a litter of adorable pups, the perfect mommy. well she's gonna be a mommy again. My concern is she sleeps a whole lot. ..She's only 3 weeks pregnant, is this normal?

Most dogs start to sleep a lot more when pregnant, usually it becomes most noticable about 2/3rd's of the way through pregnancy. Chugs have about a 63-day (9 week) gestation period, and some have been known to sleep alot throughout the entire pregnancy, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have a senior Chug rescued from a local Shelter. This baby started off very happy and very playful. After a week this poor baby has stopped being playful and sleeps constantly. She is not eating, and she continues to get sick not long after eating, but it is not food she is spitting up, it is bile. I have taken her to the emergency room and they said her blood tests show no problems. Please anyone, can you give advice to someone who knows nothing about caring for this little girl, she is so precious, and I fear I am losing her quickly.

Possible food allergy. Will be a challenge but try starting with various forms of nothing but sweet potatoes for minimum of 10 days to see if any positive result. Resist temptation to add anything to make it more appealing!

Try asking or taking her to the shelter where you got her. I would think that they would be familiar with her health, eating habits, etc.. Its at least worth the phone call, right? Best of luck with your Chug ... Hope all works out alright!!!

My husband and I have a friend staying with us due to divorce. It's okay HE IS GREAT, EX NOT SO MUCH. Anyhow, he is working out of town this week and this is my first time with his dog. My family also has a cocker/poodle who is 10 yrs old. She is also still peppy for her age. My pup tries to share toys and all which is great. But I was wondering, how do I help Lo Lo stop having gas? Also, would like to know how to make Lo Lo feel more comfortable in the house. I also have an 8 yr old child who loves them both. Any answers about the situation would be great because the dogs are so cute together. But want new pup to be feeling safe.

What type of food are you feeding him? Just changing to a higher quality food type can help improve gas. To help him feel more comfortable, just give him time! If he's already playing with your other dog and your child, he is probably well on his way to feeling comfortable! :)

I have an adorable little chug girl, and I am very anxious on spaying her because I have heard a lot of stories about smaller dogs not doing as well in surgery. Has anyone had complications or should I really have nothing to worry about? :)

I adopted a 10 month old Chihuahua Pug from the humane society about a year ago. She was there for almost a month, and I could not figure out why someone wouldn't have gotten her already! She was discounted for her size, as she was only 8 pounds, and there was no picture of her. I went to the humane society...the second I picked her up, I fell in love. She walked like a ballerina and kept checking over her shoulder to make sure I was still with her when I walked her. Then I held her for about 10 minutes and she actually hung on to me! Just hooked her little paws right through my shirt and over my shoulder. Precious. She was very easy to potty train and is very intelligent--she is also funny and likes messing around with me! She gets so happy and excited whenever I am with her or give her a treat--and she is so well behaved! I highly recommend a Pugwawa for anyone looking for a dog. She is small and compact, so easy to transport, but is gentle and calm, and does excellently with young children. She doesn't bite or snap, and her bark (which is very deep and throaty, not yappy like a Chihuahua) is something I only hear when there is someone at the door or if she sees a mouse. Very smart dog, alert and kind. She is very loyal, and now that I have her trained where the potty pen is, will scratch at the bottom of the door or my shoes when she has to go out. I open the door, let her out, and a few minutes later, there will be the scratching again! Best doggie in the world. I love her!

Small breeds like chug puppies should be fed 3 times a day. Usually offer about a cup of puppy small breed food for each feeding (good ones are Eukanueba, Iams, and Hills Science Diet), but be sure to read and follow the suggestions on the bag for her weight. Also if she is built more like a Chihuahua rather than a pug, you may want to give her slightly less at each feeding to avoid weight problemes.
