The Australian Cattle Dog is an especially energetic, loyal dog suited for cattle herding and other organized activities. They have a wild appearance, but can make great friends.
alice hamit - 2010-02-09 I have a Blue Heeler mixed with a Corgie and she is the best cow dog ever. She started when she was only 6 weeks old. She is my best friend and when we howl she howls too. It's so funny and my dad, who pretends to hate our pets, loves her. He says pet that dog like there's no tomorrow.
Debbie Wallace - 2009-11-23 We have a Queensland Heeler, Mally. She is the best dog. She is now 10 years old and having hip problems, hearing problems, and vision problems. She has always been so active and loved to play ball, ALL DAY LONG. She has just worn out her hips. She has always been very loyal to our family and we have never had a problem with her. She is very smart and has learned very quick. She has loved to go bird hunting with my husband and retrieved his birds for him. We are sad as she is aging and getting to were she cannot get around. We will miss her, because she has been one of the best dogs that we have ever had. I would get another one in a heart beat. If you are questioning on whether to get one - they are great dogs. Just very active and need room to run.
erica - 2009-08-25 I have a 2.5 month ACD little girl named Fly. She is the smartest dog I have ever known. In two weeks she has learned to be house broke, sit, lie down, high five, crawl, and sit up. She does have a lot of energy, but has learned faster then any dog I've ever met.
Heather - 2009-05-08 We rescued a smooth coat, blue merle colored, ACD in Oct(08) when she was 7 weeks old. She is now about 8 months old, currently weighs about 25 lbs. and is named Jasmine. She is an awesome dog. She has very high-energy and is always trying to please us. She has bonded strongly with my husband but will listen to me when I make her. We live in town but have a large fenced in yard for her. She loves to play fetch and go walking/jogging with me. She does nip at and try to herd our other dog, who is a German Shepard Mix and he doesn't tend to care for that much. She gets bored easily and she keeps us going all of the time. I know I never would have bought this breed but we love our dogs and wouldn't trade them for anything now that we have them!
Lexie - 2009-04-19 I have a Blue Heeler named Bob and he's amazing. We found him in Utah and he's been a great companion and very special to my father. Even my mom (who tries to act like she hates our pets) loves him.
And though I am a big lover of the kennel mutt, I have to admit that I'm becoming very attached to the Queensland Blue Heeler. I've not met another dog (save but one) with so much loyalty and personality.
