yes. long-hair Chihuahua is another name for chion. mine is overweight at 17 pounds and looks almost like yours. sport is 6 years old and is so precious, exceptionally spoiled, a great watchdog to a fault, and so loving and smart. you will love this little treasure.

Chion's are not long haired chihuahua, those can be full blooded. Chion's are a cross between Papillons and Chihuahua's.

Zeus is a rescue puppy. We were told he is part Rottie and part German Shepherd. However, I'm not sure if that's the case. He kind of resembles the Rottweiler and I guess I can see German Shepherd, however, he looks to me to be more of a terrier. I have searched all over the internet to try to find a puppy that looks like him so I can try to determine his mixed breed. I still want to keep him, no matter what, but let's face it, every dog owner wants to know what breed their dogs are. Zeus has a very special place in our hearts. He was found in a dumpster tossed away like a piece of trash at the age of 5 weeks. I guess he culd have been the runt, or possibly stolen from his litter, or just the 'unwanted or unsellable' puppy. But, to us he is our little baby boy, and an explosive burst of energy. He has all the active traits of a Rottweiler puppy. At first we were just going to take him and get him to the vet to make sure he was healthy. We were going to find him a forever home and trust me numerous people wanted him, but we were so picky as to who he would go to, and that's when we decided that we were so picky because he already had found his forever home, and that was right here with us. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what breed he may be?

He sounds simply darling! As far as breed, without knowing where he came from, it is just a guess. The rescue's guess is about as good as anyone's.

Thank you for your feed back. We actually got him from the police dept the same day they found him. We took him straight to the vet. He has gained almost two pounds in a week and a half. He is doing great and fitting in very well with the rest of the family!

He looks like a German Rottie because of his snout, color and markings, but his hair is really long and he has brown on his ears. That would suggest a mix of something else... I think you need to wait until he gets older to see what characteristics come out from his parents. You're lucky to have him no matter his mix. Rotties are great dogs... I have one and he's the best! Congrats!

He is a Rottsheperd.. long hair or not. German Shepherds also come in long hairs, medium length and short hair. I come from a family of Professional German Shepherd Breeders/Show Dogs/Obedience Training... Registered and Club. His paws are huge which suggests exactly what you were told... he is a German Shepherd X Rottie

I would use a higher quality food. Look at ingrdients, you do not want the first ingredient to be a filler like corn.

I would not recommend puppy food for even puppies, as most puppy formulas have milk powder in them. This could cause the puppy, or even older dogs to have the runs, which could be hard on both the dog and the owner, and could also cause dehydration. I feed my little dog moist dog food that comes in small packs. He seems to enjoy it much better than the hard 'small breed' foods.

Appleheads do NOT do well on a beef dog food. You should find a dog food with poultry and brown rice as the main ingredients. I hope this helps you and your you lil pup.

3 months old is very young to feed them hard food, maybe mix it with baby formula and make sure its warm (not hot) and soft.

We feed our applehead chiuahua little rice with ground beef and green beans with a powder supplement (sundow). For the first year then add dry food less ground beef less sundown and now he eats his dry food with no grains and we always add veggies in the dry food with a small amount hot water. Has been very healthy and is our angel from heaven above.

I cook Lolita'meals she is my apple head 1 1/2 years old.....she eats once a day around 6pm ...1/4 cup of food....brown rice with turkey, chicken, veal or ground meat....smashed peas, or carrots or sweet potatoes....a few balls of dry food ....she weights 5 pounds and loves to go to the park 2/3 times a week for running and networking.....

We have a long haired chihuahua that's about 2-3 years old. She was rescued and given to us. She is so sweet and we love her dearly. The only problem that we have is feeding her. I've been giving her raw chicken legs ( skinless ) and she was doing great with that but now she doesn't eat until she is really, really hungry. The vet told to me give her a half of an allergy pill every day ( well, I give it to her at night ). I give it to her in a little bit of peanut butter on the end of my finger. She loves that. So, maybe she loves that so much that she doesn't like her chicken anymore. I'm worried she's not eating enough. She weighs 6lbs 8 ozs. Any suggestions?

poms too hey. please no body give her money, she is a scammer. she sells english bulldogs from america to australia, medical supplies, look her email up on facebook. its a georgia number, but she apparantely sells animals all over the world. oh yeah, parrots are another scam from her. she will tell you she has a delivery service, you pay and don't receive. i encourage everyone to look her up. i will work hard at letting everyone know. i have authorities who have leads on bringing her down. research before you pay.
