"I have a pair of Striped doras, which i bought as adults in 1974 yes 32 years ago. they have looked pretty old for the last 20 years!! they hardly move except for a few hours at night. one of them (10 years ago)had been trapped in a tube for several weeks. when i found it, it had lost its colour and looked dead. it's tail had rotted away. it lay at the bottom of the tank for days without moving but as it was still breathing. i left it and dropped bloodworm etc so that it didn't need to work hard to find food. to my amazement it recovered. i wonder if they will ever die, not that i want them to."
