"If anyone can help I would sure appreciate it. I just adopted a male severe macaw who is 4 years old. He was with a family that broke apart and the woman couldn't keep him anymore. I have had cockatiels for years and was actually a breeder in Florida, so I thought nothing of taking on "Hank". I was a little wrong! I quickly learned what he likes to eat...check. He screams and I don't know why....uncheck. He refuses to let me pet him, hold him, climb onto my arm. I try and coax him with treats but I can't get this bird to trust me. She said he talks but all he says now is "OK". Is this just a transition period? Is there anything I can do to help the process along? I'm lost with Hank! You may email me if you want at"
