"I live in the Southern Highlands, about an hour's drive from Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. We own a male cockatiel named Elvis who thinks he is a human and a cat named Bear. We get a lot of wild parrots where we live (black cockatoos, sulphur crested, Blue Mountain, etc). A few days ago I noticed this beautiful bright yellow parrot sitting on my roof. I recognised it was not a native parrot and certainly not wild. I raced inside, grabbed some seed and my daughter (who is very tall) persuaded the bird to come down on to her hand and accept the seed. He is so TAME we couldn't believe it! In spite of a gang of native homey eaters attacking him and pecking his head, he remained calm and collected. He was very hungry so I hate to think how long he must have been out in the wild alone. We realise he is someone's pet, such a beautiful bird. Appears to be immature, probably a female as no ring is present. Our cockatiel is bewildered and very curious about this new bright visitor. We have advertised in our local area of our find but so far no claim has come forward. I kinda hope we can keep him. He is VERY beautiful! I know what the other comments mean when they speak about the "eye thing". I have noticed he does this when our Cockatiel "Elvis" tries to get "too friendly"!!! We searched the net and found your site. Thanx for all the info on Indian Ring Neck Parrots. The Lutinos are gorgeous. If we get to keep this magnificent fellow, our daughter wants to call him Popadum (seeing as how he comes from India!) Patricia. "
