"My wife and I have had our green cheek Ernie for about 5 months now. We had him sexed before we bought him so we know he's a boy. He's an extremely intellegent bird and has learned many words. He's quite content to sit on top of his cage looking out the window but as soon as someone walks by he always wants to be picked up. We have a shower perch for him and he loves taking showers with us. Ernie does have a nipping problem like most young conures do and the way we deal with it is to grab his beak and shake his head gently and stress to him "no biting". We have heard after a year they settle down a bit. He's quite a good little man and we're very happy with him."
