"I have two parakeets- one male (Bud) and one Female (sissy). they seemed to have mated, of course. However, it seems that Bud has taken over the nesting; from making the nest to sitting on the eggs. Also, I noticed that Sissy had laid an egg before the last two, then it was gone. I saw shredded (paper I had shredded for nesting) paper with yellow on it. The only thing I could surmise is that one of the birds ate the egg. Now Bud, as I said seems to be very protective of the eggs and she just stays out, but only to deposit the next egg and leaves the nest. I enjoy them completely and refer to them as our children. Much to my friend's shagren. ha ha ha "
