"She lives in a 20g Brackish Tank with a crab and 4 ghost shrimps which were suppose to be dinner!! She eats krill from my fingers…and sometimes even manages a piece of finger nail! Her tank sits on my desk and is my constant companion during working hours."
I can’t think of a better officemate!

I decided to post some of the better “cutest pets” of the past, way before we started this blog/newsletter. Some of them are funny pet pictures, others are really interesting pets. Cool stuff Maynard… err… Tuffy!
This a picture of my Rat Terrier, Tuffy. He loves to get in the pool and will do anything for attention! He is 3 years old, weighs about 10 pounds, and , of course, he is a male. He is all ears , as you can see. He is a very loving dog. And loves to chase squirrels. As you can see he is a cutie!”
“Finches are very hardy, give them a good home and enjoy their antics!”
The Gouldian Finches or Lady Gouldians are thought by many to be one of the most beautiful of the finches and are some of the most colorful birds.
Though the Gouldian Finches are not extremely difficult birds to keep, they are rather expensive and are generally kept by more experienced bird keepers. Gouldian Finches are also not too difficult to breed and will breed well in colonies or as pairs in cages.
To learn to care for this bird, a beginner could start with the Zebra Finch. They are much less expensive and have very similar environmental requirements and many of the same behaviors.
"This is our 75 gallon planted community tank. The tank contains Curviceps, Bolivian Ram, Yo-Yo loaches, Siamese Algae Eaters, Queen Arabesque Pleco, Algae grazing goby, rummy nose tetras, red & blue Columbian tetras, cory’s, farlowella, killifish, rosey barb and I think that’s it. It is heavily planted with numerous plants, no C02 is used on this tank, we run 2 HOT Magnum filters on this tank."
This aquarium is simply amazing! It is especially nice to know that results like this can be acheived without CO2. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Turkish Van Cat
"This is a unique cat breed, it is a natural swimmer!" 5/2/2008
The Turkish Van is an ancient breed with a friendly, lively disposition.
This is a very social breed that develops a great fondness for its owners. They are very playful and tend to “teach” the owners; many know how to play fetch and will drop toys at your feet until you join the game. The Turkish Van is an excellent family cat.
This is one of the very few cat breeds that will gladly accompany its owner in the water. The breed exhibits a natural affinity for water and is often called the "swimming cat". This is also one of the few long-haired breeds that requires little grooming.
This has got to be the most creatively designed fish! What an incredible combination of patterns, and fun colors! The Clown Triggerfish or Big-spotted Triggerfish just makes you want to smile!
The Clown Triggerfish or Big-spotted Triggerfish is one of the most spectacular looking marine species. The round spots on the lower side of the body and the ‘cigar’ lips give it the name ‘Clown’.
Like all triggers, they need lots of space, a cave or rocks to retreat into, and house them with other appropriate fish that have similar needs and can hold their own. These guys are usually expensive but are very hardy once they are eating well. They are worth every bit of the price because of the unique appearance they will give your aquarium!
The Giant Red Tail Gourami, one of only three species in this genus, is definitely the most attractive of these very large fish!
The Giant Red Tailed Gourami is a slightly smaller, more colorful version of its cousin, the true Giant Gourami, Osphronemus gouramy.
This large fish is a relatively new addition to the aquarium hobby. More colorful than its close relative the Giant Gourami, this species natural color can be quite beautiful. It has wonderful blue-green highlights and fins that are trimmed in red. With a maximum size of near to 20 inches, keepers of this fish should plan on eventually having a 100 gallon or larger tank available to house them in.
Many fish that are red or partially red are considered to be good luck by many Chinese so the demand for this red finned giant is very high!
The Fischer’s Lovebird is another friendly species of lovebird that makes an exceptional pet when hand-raised!
Though not quite as common as the Peach-faced Lovebird or the Masked Lovebird varieties, this handsome lovebird with its pleasant warm coloring and affectionate personality, has become quite popular.
This little bird will delight and amuse you with it’s playful and amusing antics. They are active intelligent little birds and make a wonderful companion and friend. An excellent beginners bird, the Fischer’s Lovebird is hardy, easy to care for, and a willing breeder.
