"I've had goldfish for years but I'm new to tropical aquariums. Recently bought a 150L tank that included (among others) two rummy-noses. I've found them clownish and entertaining. Every day the larger one will grab a huge chunk of food and race around with it, being chased all the way by a serpae tetra! (That's another thing . . . these rummy-nosed tetra seem simply too fast to have their tails nipped!) I purchased two more yesterday, so now they are a small school, zooming up and down the tank, in a day swimming many times the distance of my other varieties. So I wouldn't be surprised if, despite their size, a 150L aquarium (= 40 gallons?) should be a minimum for this fish."
