"I have a large tank. I am having serious problems. I have a mix of fish; Tiger Scat holds his own, Managuense the toughest, bothers no one unless messed with, a Synodontis, Jack Dempsey, and Red Devil. All about six inches, and all get brutally beaten by a Kenyi Cichlid male, about five inches. Has turned yellow with very faded vertical black stripes. I cannot put any other fish in the tank as he will kill them, no matter how big, in the first night. His brother was killed by the Jack Dempsey about six months ago, that he now beats to a pulp. I really like him a lot as he is beautiful. I know that Demsey's are weak for the most part unless breeding. What gives with the Red Devil though. Should I turn them in and get different species to stand up for themselves. I will not get rid of the Kenyi, but I will trade in the Dempsey and Red Devil if need be. The scat is not aggressive but will always face off with the Kenyi. If he faces off, he stops messing with them, as the Synodontis does as well. If you want to run through as the Dempsey and Devil do, he will chase them for hours, nipping them and tiring them til he can kill them as he does with any fish I introduce to the tank. I have changed tank setting, moved everything, and even replaced them with different things. ANY SUGGESTIONS, THANKS."
