My plant has detached from bulb...only thing attaching bulb 2 plant are a few roots...Should I fully detach and plant in gravel?  Anonymous

Dwarf Lilies are beautiful small plants that can help fill out planted aquariums with their small, spade-shaped leaves!

Dwarf Lilies are relatively small, with a maximum leaf length of 4.7 inches (12 cm). Leaves are generally pinkish to red and grow together in a very compact fashion. They are good plants for decorating midground aquarium areas and filling it out. They need fairly bright light to keep them healthy as well as moderate fertilization. Overall, dwarf lilies are easy to keep, having a moderate growth rate and no special requirements.

I would personally let them do what they will do naturally.  You can detach them if you want too.

I added a dwarf lily to my 55 gallon low light tank about 5 weeks ago. Very low light, only 1wpg. Truly impressive plant! Beautiful coloration and within this short amount of time I already have over 20 lily pads on the surface!

I have 10 dwarf lily bulbs in my aquariums. All have sprouted and are growing well in my low light. (about 1.5 watts per gallon). I dose ferts and excel and they are a beautiful plant. Definitely helps add some color (reds/pinks) to the aquarium with out having to have the high light set-up most plants need to show red coloring...Love it!
