I have had a red eared slider now for 20 years. My dog found him on a walk and carried him home. He was about the size of a quarter. Tort is quite a picky eater. He will only eat his one type of pellets. When I run out and give him a different type, he will just swim away and not eat it. He is about 9 inches long now. We take him for walks in the yard and I now know why the hare lost the race. Tort can move fast when he has a goal. He is very easy to take care of. Spends most of the time in the water but he loves to bask on his rocks.

I have many exotic pets. They enjoy our interactions during feedings. I give them all large cages with live plants and the best possible environment. The less I handle them the happier and more comfortable they become. Why does every pet have to be scratched behind the ear or be taught to say 'polly wants a cracker'. Don't say it's for anybody's safety.

It eats 2-4 crickets a week and , I’m concerned about the web , if I put more bedding in the cage will it burrow? I don’t know any advice would be appreciated!

I just bought my pink toe tarantula and she hasn’t been eating at all. I have tried getting my little tongs/tweezers and put the cricket near the fangs but it always runs away and tends to get agitated. This is the third day I have had him or her and she hasn’t eaten and I am worried she will die because she isn’t eating or drinking. She is a baby and she is so fun and active but aI am very worried about her. Please help. Btw I am not sure if it is a girl or a boy.

Hi there, have u checked the humidity and temp?
  • Sandro - 2020-05-14
Hello, mine does the same. Try sticking a half dead cricket on to the web, make sure its stuck but still twitching your avic will find it and eat. I've noticed they get scared of the tongs sometimes. Hope this helps.
