Kashif Manzoor - 2014-08-02 I saw my lovebirds mate a couple of months back. It was start of summer in Pakistan but than they stop doing it. I was disappointed as really want the see their cute babies. They are feeding each other and getting in and out of nest box regularly but still no eggs. Perhaps it was due to the summer season as temperature goes to 35C plus. Any one help me with situation thanks. Kashif

Clarice Brough - 2014-08-05 Yes, it could be the temperature, or low humidity, or a combination of the two, that is disrupting egg production. It could simply be that they are young. Sometimes new couples need to just try for a while until they get it. Imexperience can also keep them from properly sitting on the eggs with the first clutch.
Rohan Banik - 2014-08-06 Hi kashif, i would suggest you not to expect egg from your bird during summer as this will damage your bird even their babies will be of bad health or can die. The best time to put the nest box or to expect baby from them is between 17th of september till 28th of march as per your country's weather..... Thanks
Kashif Manzoor - 2014-08-06 Thanks for the valuable input. Appreciated.

Clarice Brough - 2013-12-10 If the eggs are fertile, all five should hatch.
Al Estrella - 2014-06-16 how will i know if a love birds fischers is 5 or 6 years old?
Clarice Brough - 2014-06-27 The age of birds is almost impossible to determine, other than as juveniles. Your best bet is to ask the person you got them from what their hatch date was.
emerson - 2013-08-05 Who builds the nest, the male or the female fisher?

Jasmine Brough Hinesley - 2013-08-23 I am really not sure. But they usually use 'pre-built' nests (trees, boxes, etc.) and so they may not put much effort into making their own nests. The mothers are usually the ones who sit on the nest and raise the young, so I would think they would probably do a lot of the nest building if there is any.
