Hi there! I own 5 buns at present; all lovely in their own way but none as docile and sweet as Button. Button is a New Zealand bun with lop ears and I found him at Pets at Home, where he had been living for around 6months. I would see him every time I went to buy rabbit food and felt so sorry for this sweet, tiny (as he WAS!!) bunny. He played on my conscience so much, that one day I decided to buy him. I searched the petshop, but to no avail. When I spoke to the manager, he pointed out that the rabbit had "health problems" and was residing "in the back". I demanded to see him. I was presented, from the cold store-room, a pitiful, thin bun with angry abcesses on his ears (inflicted by a guinea pig). They were reluctant to sell him to me as it was "against policy" to sell sick animals. I warned them that I would report them to the RSPCA.. Cutting a long story short; I am the proud owner of THE cuddliest bunny in the world. Button has full access to the garden, where he leaps and twists in the air in sheer happiness. He also has a girlfriend, Sophie; a Netherland Dwarf! I love this bun to pieces!

i had a new zealand rabbit for 5 years. she didnt get very big but she never bit anyone. if you want a place for her to run around you should think about getting a child playpen, its big enough. you can set it in the back yard and watch her play for hours at a time. i go swimming while she sits in the shade and eats grass, she loves it. her name was ceres, she died a while ago and now i am getting another bunny. this time i think i will get either a havana or a
silver marten rabbit, check out that page to! i miss her

New Zealand rabbits are great rabbits. my problem was that mine did bite, but they are really great rabbits. I am wondering what would have led to her biting because I never heard before that New Zealands didnt bite

We just got a new baby New Zealand, red. She is 6 weeks old. We got her from a 4-h show where our daughter was showing her Hotot. Which won grand champion for her class. Her first one! We named the baby " Chi Tea". She is the color of it too. She is so sweet. She loves to play with the bells and balls in her cage. We know it is very important for them to have playtime with different things, keeps the mind going! We brought our Hotot up with alot of interaction and love ( instead of being in a cage all day and right before only readying them for a show) So we are going to do the same with her. I have owned dogs and cats but let me tell you I wish that I had been introduced to these creatures a long time ago! Our Hotot snuggles up to our 18 year old cat and sleeps too. What a picture!
