I have wanted a miniture rabbit for some time now. I'm from Windsor, Ont. Canada. I haven't been able to find one. Is there rabbits out there that stay small?

There are many kinds that stay "small." It depends on what you call small. If you're referring to one that stays "baby-size" try a Netherland Dwarf. They are very cute and I believe the smallest breed? Very easy to take care of.

Another is Britannia Petite-although they have wild temperaments.

Harder to find, or at least where I live ;), is the Dwarf Hotot. Holland Lops are great and adorable, as well as the Jersey Wolly. But my favorite is the Dutch. I had a female and she was so calm. Her sister was spunky. Great pets, especially as starters. Hope this helps!

I owned a chinchilla mini-rex for a year and it was my favorite rabbit I have ever owned. I am thinking about getting another mini-rex to show for 4-H!

I have a 6 month old male holland lop. Today I bought a 8 week is female with no intention of breeding them. I wanted my male to have a companion. He keeps mounting her. What do I do??

If you're not planning on breeding, then like I do with any of my pets that I'm not using for breeding purposes, I get them spayed or neutered. It makes them a much nicer pet also. Especially male rabbits, it stops them from spraying and makes them not as aggressive when they mature.

I have a rabbit but I am not sure of her breed. We think that she is a mini rex but we cannot tell. Any tips? Also she lives in the same hutch with my purebred Netherland Dwarf, Napoleon. We thought she was a Netherland Dwarf before because she could fit in a gerbil ball comfortably. they look identical both are broken blacks with black around their eyes and ears.

There really isn't an accurate way for us to determine the breed of your little one.  Could be a Rex but it could be a cross and look like a Rex.  Much depends on size, fur, coloring etc.  If she is a cross - could look like mom or dad or grandparents.

You can try looking in local paper for any rabit breeder and ask the breeder. Most seem to know who is breeding what kind of rabbits. You can also look on Craigslist or on the Internet to find a breeder who might be able to lead you to a breeder close to your home.

I have a rex rabbit named Bun. He learned his name quickly and was easy to litter box train. He is super friendly, too! I like rex rabbits because of their small size.
