I got two emperors and knew one was a male the other was a female. When I put them together they started what it looked like was fighting. Then one ran off. The next day I was looking up how to breed tem and it turned out that they were not fighting they were BREEDING!

hi. i have and owned over 70 snakes and i am only 16 yrs old. i am known by many of europes best herpetologists. i breed RTB and have breed many sucessful hybrids. many people say that RTBs are not very good as starter snakes or for younger persons, i totally disagree with that. RTB's make excellent starter snakes and are great for younger persons. they rarely bite. i have been breeding since i was 12 and not one of my snakes have bitten me.

hi, i am 16 years old and have and owned over 70 snakes. i found with ball/royal pythons, they do tend to have trouble eating from time to time. for intance one of my royal pythons didnt it for 2weeks. other than that they are great pets. all snakes are great pets. for beginners are corn snakes. i do not recommend rat snakes for beginners because they tend to bite a lot more than corns.

I have a young green anole named Jumper. I originally bought him because my sister was diagnosed with a skin disease and I felt very bad. Well right away my mother told me a one gallon tank I had was not big enough! So we went right out and bought him a 10 gallon tank, a water dish, heating lamps, a spraybottle, dirt, forest moss, little logs, and wood chips. He was so happy and enjoyed this supremely. At first though we had thought he, was a she! We figured out that little Jumper was a guy the moment he started flashing his strawberry dewlap. He is very cute and loveable, he will change colors just to get you to take him out of his cage, and many a night have our family fell asleep with him in our hands. He's just so sweet and loving.

Nice sight, lots of good info. Bought my T the other day and love him, while I was worried about the venom and hairs I got over it quickly.

The best way to house these are in species specific arachnovariums. Making a ten gallon fishtank into an eclosure for scorpions could lead to not only a waste of time but with simply made errors in construction, the lost of a scorpion that could cause severe issues with children that get stung by an escapee. Don't risk it. Purchasing an arachnovarium for this wonderful communial scorpion will offer much enjoyment as well as peace of mind.

We've found in our projects that C.v. enjoy both climbing structions like felled and standing pine trees as well as debris on the floor. We do mist ours every other night. Other then the substrate that we designed for these, most items of decor can be found in your back yard or park. Oak leaves, dried pine bark, dead hollow logs and securely fitting stones (vivarium mortar bonds to anything). These striped scorpions, Centroides vitattus, make great captives.

i picked up a tiny 4 month old rose hair the other day, and she is beautiful! she is very quick moving, and she loves to jump around her tank, something i thought was quite weird for a rose hair lol. i haven't held her yet as she is still too small, but i hope to do so soon. rose hairs are an ideal beginners spider, and a hardy species that i would recommend to anyone.
