Hi I recently brought a Asian scorpion I've had him for 2 days know he is only about an inch and half. I tried to feed him one cricket the day I got him but instead of giving him one 4 fell in he hasn't eaten any as yet but seems to play with them. Shall I take some out or leave him to eat wen he is hungary

Yes, take them out. The scorp might be in the process of molting and if this is the case the crickets might end up eating the scorp.

I have owned 2 of these. The one I have currently is a 2 inch female (not including the tail). She has pinched me once. It was a hard pinch. I have held her numerous times and she has not yet made an effort to sting me. She is skittish at first but soon settles down.
If you have an chance to get one GET IT. In my own personal opinion if you want something more "unpredictable" than an emperor scorpion this is it. I am not going to lie to you, they can and will sting if mishandled. But from what I heard from a friend of mine, it is more discomfort that actual pain!

I have recently got an Asian forest scorpion, and I've been handling him since he was a few weeks old.. I don't find him aggressive in any way shape or form.

Just recently got my scorpion and I can tell its older and absolutely does not like being handled lol. I just moved with him and I think the change messed up his appetite. Took him over a week to eat and he hasn't came out of his house in a couple days but he's alive. Wondering if he's molting or sick? No sign of mites from what I can see

Two days ago I decided to take my baby snapping turtle out of the tank so he could get some exercise while my daughter was opening up her bday presents. After a half hour or so goes by my mother says'where's the turtle' oh my god I forgot. We looked everywhere and he's been gone for almost 3 days. Any advice? I don't think my dogs would've ate him. One dog is mix breed of malamute and husky and the other dog had a starring contest with the turtle the last time he was out of tank getting exercise...plus she's old and could care less. Iv looked everywhere, iv been looking everyday and I left food and water out and even ran a watering fountain hoping he would come to the sound of trickling water, still no sign. Last time he ate was 4/7 in the morning and it's now 4/10. He's only the size of a half dollar. I'm worried and hope he surfaces soon or maybe he found a small hole and found his way out?

Our turtle went missing when he was very small also after we forgot he was out. We flipped the entire house completely over at least 5 times. We thought he had found a whole or got stuck somewhere and died.He turned up two weeks later just laying in the middle of the living room floor one morning as if he never left. He was a bit dehydrated but recovered very quickly and is doing very well a year later

I have a beautiful pet. Acquired 8-10 years ago, healthy, not adapt to handling, very attentive, I believe 'she' was approximately size of fifty-cent piece, now grown to 5-8 inches in diameter. Just a guess. Appears to be healthy, could be adapt to be a friendly pet with training. I am looking for a home as I am no longer able to care for her. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I don't have a comment I have a question. What does it mean when your anole is black

If an anole gets too stressed out or scared, it will turn black. They will also turn a very dark brown or black when they get sick or injured. Best not to handle them when either stressed or sick. If it doesn't soon adapt to its environment and stays black, a trip to the vet may be needed.

We have green Anoles here and when one of them turns black/brown and does not feed or drink I force feed it and also force drink it. They usually bounce back.
  • Jeremy Roche - 2012-11-02
Could be dehydrated. Try misting the tank.
  • kabeyn bailey - 2016-04-14
mine was just like that the black means that it is ill or sick all i had to do was feed it a few live crickets with vitamin powder on them and then mist up the tank and then put maple leaves upside down in the and and then drip water on them.
