Last year for Father's Day my daughter gave me this little black with white stripes fish, about 2' long. I didn't know that was a zebra eel, today is about 12' long and still growing.

They get over 3 feet. If you don't have a tank over 150 gallons I would suggest trying to sell it.

Do they come up for air? I think I have baby ones in my tank, but they are in a hole in the rock always, do they live there ever?

I don't believe they have to come up for air - they get all the oxygen they need from the water. If you have babies, they may stay in the rock until they are bigger and ready to venture out looking for a new place to hang out.

My banded snake eel won't eat and I can't put the food front of home cause he is under the sand or swimming away from it

Hey guys I just need some help. My snowflake eel has been acting strange recently. After my coral beauty died the snowflake may have eaten him cause I haven't found the body yet and recently he tried to eat my pregnant tomato clown. I don't want him to kill her but I don't want to get rid of him I'm going to purchase a 30 gal tank this week. Please help, thanks.

They can be tough to get feeding. The techniques we've used is with a poker made out of rigid 1/4' clear tubing with a paper clip attached with a rubberband to the end. Then we pierce live food (like the ghost shrimp) on the paper clip end, and offer it in front of the eel's face. The paper clip is blunt so it doesn't hurt them, and if the food is moving they pay attention and will sometimes strike.  If nothing happens, then we kinda bump them on the nose. But being bumped on the will sometimes elicit a bite reaction. This way they get the food, and then they start understanding that it is food. Still, there are some that simply won't feed. Good luck!

Is this eel the same as the snowflake moray eel? And by any chance is the snowflake moray eel and the freshwater snowflake moray eel the same eel?

Nope they look completely different. The Morey has stripes and the snow flake looks like it has more spots. Here is a bunch of pictures showing the snowfalke vs the morey
Snowflake vs Morey and hope this helps.

When I was scuba diving, I saw one of these moray eels and it was close to 6 feet! They are one big eel.

They are amazing eels.  Many in popular dive areas will see divers as a great source to get food.  And will take food right from divers.

I just purchased a 2'ft brackish water Marble Moray Eel. What is the best food for it and the best time to feed it?

I have always used jumbo krill and introduce it with tongs right infront of their face.
