I am very interested in getting a Shetland pony, I have 5 acres frame with 2 horses, 1 donkey, and a duck, and I have handicap kids come by to spend time on the farm and I think that the pony would fix in just right if someone can help me, that would be great thanks very much.

Got a 7yr old for our grandaughters.fun.I'm a light grandpa and I rode him a lot so the grand girls would have a easy riding pony. No problem s little gamier but they'll grow in to his quick ness.I walked him but his nature is quick so we let them ride him in a encloser

I have 3 Shetlands, father & son plus a gelding all rescues which are all gifted to me, my 2 Rescue Centres, then I have had to turn one down offered to me by my vet as full up as I also have a rescue Sec.D Welsh Cob also gifted to me as well as my Belgian Warmblood. The Shetlands 2 are Skewbald and the son is a Chestnut. Until Lottery win bursting at the seams with 5 Horses.

American Shetland ponies are completly different from Shetland ponies, they are now catagorised as a seperate breed and i can tell you, as a shetland pony breeder (from shetland) american shetland ponies are not even close to ours anymore!

I started at age one with my father holding my ankle and have loved Shetlands and then horses for my 83 years. Our ponies were black with white markings, and I never saw other colors until today near El Paso, Texas: two of the sweetest little bay ponies with flaxen tails!
