We have 4 Heelers which we have had since they were all puppies. Pepper (13) is going selectivly deaf. Banshee and Ghost (10) and Rocky (3). They are the best dogs we have ever had. We got Banshee and Ghost as littermates and didn't find out until Ghost was about 4 that she had either been stepped on or kicked by a horse and had her pelvis fractured. Other than having problems getting up and down now, she is still active even with her handicap which is a testament to how resilient these dogs are. They are very protective even to the point of taking on a Rottwieler to protect my husband after his back surgery. I would not recommend a Heeler as a family pet. If they grow up with the children it might be different but they are a bit aloof and do not like to be handled unless it is on their terms. They can also be aggressive with people. We recently took on my daughters 2 dogs, both mixes (not heeler), and they integrated pretty well although Rocky is a bit agressive towards the other male.

I love my mini Schnauzer, Sgt. Schultz. We go outside as weather permits, but he loves to play indoors too. Luckily we have a long hall way. Our mini loves to fetch and is pretty good about bringing back his toys, for you to "do it again" and again... I would agree they do well indoors, but really need to release that energy. Ours is a "chewer", so best to pick up shoes!

I have a female chug named twiggy, she's 8 months old now and a real character. Everyone adores her even people who don't like small dogs because she doesn't look like a rat. She is very sociable with cats and dogs of any size. However when she was a puppy she was extremely playful and a bit much for my sisters jack russell. She doesn't bark a lot, but sometimes puts a little growl on when people knock on the door or anyone approaches me while I'm holding onto her that she feels threatened by. She's very easy to train and an awesome companion. very loyal. would definately consider getting the same breed again! My chug is still small, taking the chihuahua body shape as opposed to pug. love her to pieces!

Hello. I too have a female chug, she's about 9 months old, her name is Tequila. You described my girl in what you wrote. Her favorite thing in life is when I throw the tennis ball and she gets to go chase it down, picks it up in her mouth, and runs back to me to do it again, and again, and again. She does get distracted so easily. her bottom teeth show and it looks like she is always smiling. Lets talk, I'll send you pics of Tequila.

You can get them fixed at any age but it will cost more once they start to go up in age. It's best to get them fixed at a young age so they can recover faster and you can have a happy puppy back. Second old family red nose pitbulls are not hard to find they are not rare. If they were half of my friend would not be breeding them. They are so easy like any other blood out there to find. I have camelot pits and they're my babies I love them. People need to do research before they start to talk crap about the breed.

I have a long haired chihuahua and he is amazing. He's a little over a year old. He's quiet and well behaved, although he's found his voice when he may feel he's protecting his owner, or maybe he just wants to be heard. When I first got him he hid and ran from people a lot, now I have him out walking almost everyday and he loves going "Bye Bye". He's come a along way since first getting him, learning fairly quickly. They make wonderful pets and I'd love to get another one.

At what age is it ok to neutralize my Pig dog (english Bull Terrier)? I'm afraid if we do it too early, that he will not be as "manly" as he should.
He is 1yr and 4 months now and is chasing and grinning at the other females (not b.terriers) when they come on heat.

We have a cattle dog/blue heeler mix named Quincy. He's 6 mo. old and wonderful. He's actually rather lazy for his breed. He sleeps 10 hours at night and always has since we got him at 3 mo. He housebroke really fast and is learning his obedience school lessons well. We always had Labs before but are really happy with him. He's a rescue dog and loves us and everyone else. I would recommend his breed.
