Hi, I'm sorry about your dog. I adopted my Chugs @ the Humane Society. JZ is tan. Lyzy is blk/wht. They both very energetic, playful,& cute. When I got them they were 2 mos. old. Now, they're 8 mos. old. They're stubborn @ time but patience also helps. I learned how to train them from the internet. I let them play in the back yard and walk them almost every day. It's fun to watch them play with each other, hide 'n' seek, chasing the ball or toy... I think you can check it out @ the Humane Society in your area.

I have a Chion that was rescued from a Puppy mill when he was 2 years old. He was kept in a cage all his life. He is a lovely and affectionate dog despite all the problems caused by these terrible people.

Be warned...these dogs do bark at lot. They are very protective. And PLEASE make sure you are not supporting a puppy mill when you purchase your dogs. This breed can be found at shelters and rescues around the world!.

I also rescue a Chion from a shelter, and she is very lovable four months puppy. We feel very luck in adopting her. Until now she doesn't bark a lot, but is very active.

Just rescued a Chion and he is very, very shy. Not with me anymore...I took 2 whole days to bond with him. It's only been 3 days now and already he's let my OLDER children pet him. Yes, he barks...but not continuously and is a real sweetheart and snuggler. I think this is a wonderful breed! And I adopted him! Didn't buy him! There are alot of these wonderful little dogs out there that need homes.

Basset hounds are the best dogs! I have always had a basset and will never want another breed.

I have adopted a lovely new member into our family named Meatloaf! I have changed his food from Beneful to Wellness whitefish and potatoes which he loves. My dilemma is that he produces too much oil and has a yeast smell. What do you normally feed your hounds? I would like to get an idea of what works well for oily skin and a healthy diet.

Go to google and type in"where to find a chinese crested puppies (or dogs). Make sure your breeder can be trusted by a parent. Then pick the picture (if they have pics.) of one that looks like the one on the front page. That's what I did when I got my puppie. Hope you get a puppie that you want.

I would like to bring to your attention that avacados are poisonous to dogs. I read so in the petfinder.com Adopted Dog Bible. I have seen that also on many other websites. Please remove the section where it says that they are ok, as you may be causing people's pets to fall ill.

Thanks KC for your good suggestion, and the info has been corrected on the page!

I beg to differ with you regardless of the source. I have a five acre avocado ranch and my dogs as well as neighborhood dogs eat fallen avocados on a regular basis with no ill effects with the exception of a little weight gain if I let them eat too many. Now if I could just get them to pick them and put them in the bins, I'd be all set!

I love my dog and avocados. My italian greyhound is my first dog. He is not allergic to avocados, and actually enjoys them.

I have a six month old male long haired Chihuahua, Bryce. I have no idea how people can say the breed is mean. He loves everyone and even stays out of the cat's way. ( to her the dog is a pest) but he is so sweet. Don't listen to the stereotype. He's an angel.

I also have a male long haired chihuahua, age 2. He's nothing but sweet. He's scared of everybody, so I agree with you, not all chihuahuas are mean.

We have a chug named Nugget. We got him when he was 8 weeks old and now he is almost 2 yrs...He is the most adorable dog with his stunning green eyes and cute little brown nose. He is about 8lbs and favors his chihuahua mother. He is so michievious but we wouldn't have him any other way. He loves to snuggle and burrow down under the blankets and sleep all cuddled up to me. He is very adventurous and loves to explore outside and loves to sun himself on the sidewalk. He gets along well with other animals but he does like to nip fingers and noses. I would recommend a chug as a pet for anyone.

I want to know the cost of a white German Spitz "girl" toy.
If it is crossed with a French Poodle, it will be alright, as long as it is a girl, white and toy.

My family has a five year old long-haired chihuahua and he's very loving to all of the members of the family, however, he does not like strangers right away and does not get along well with young children. I suspect if raised with them he might (most children are brats who pull at his tail and get in his face without taking warning to his growls so a nip serves them right) but as it is now it's better just to keep him away from them. He is a wonderful watch dog and very protective of the house and us. He is adorable and quite large for a chihuahua (around 8-12 lbs) depending on the part of the year. The vet has never had a problem with this, he's just big for the breed. He loves to play and is very excitable, sometimes it might cause him to wheeze slightly.

I must warn you that this breed is very jealous and we had to get rid of our cat for this reason. (The cat simply went from purring and loving us to sulking, and for good reason I think. I still feel sorry for him.) Regardless he is very cute and I think the breed provides long companionship for those wanting it.
