I would do a water change just to be safe. If possible, move your Moor to a different tank until he gets better. I usually add an extra bubble stone if I have a sick fish. The extra oxygen seems to help. But don't aerate so much that he is blowing around 😉

NEVER feed Congos flake foods.. I feed mine a mixture of 4-5 different blends of frozen fish food found in the freezer section at your fps. Take one frozen blister capsule from each package and allow them to semi un-thaw in a small plastic container... Mix them thoroughly and refreeze. Your Congos will love you for it and their colors will pop like you have never seen them before however, it is up to you as to how often you wish to feed this mixture to them per day. Just remember, the frozen stuff is usually very high in proteins and fats so it should be noted that just a small amount be fed. I keep two (2) males and two (2) females in my 55 gal. By keeping two of each it allows the males to compete as the alpha male thus pushing their pigmentation of orange and blues as well as silvers out naturally.

I had two black moor fishes with 6 other fancy goldfishes.... The black moor always rests in the down corner of the aquarium... One day it started to change the colour and started slowing its movement and died....why???

    Sounds like ammonia burn.

My black moore is 2 and a half years old. He changed from black to bright yellow! it is amazingly beaituful. He is the male. The female of same age stayed black and velvety...so it is not a burn...but some do change color!

I recently added a peacock eel into my aquarium and as soon as I let him in he swam directly into the glass and he bent his nose. Is there anything I should do about this or will it heal on its own. please reply asap. thanks

i was searching a place where i could comment or tell story about my fishes. yesterday, my tinfoil barb attached my 5 inch gold fish (size without fin) and taken their both eyes and made them blind, no other injury, i hope tinfoil barb (red tail) is not suitable for goldfish in my views as one of some shopkeepers told me that tinfoil barb is meat eater or it may be dangerous for my goldies.

I bought a midas cichlid about a month ago but still can't make out whether it's a male or female. I am wondering if anyone can help me out.

Awesome fish! I have owned quite a few species of SA and A cichlids over the years. I have found that the Midas is probably the fastest growing and most interactive of them all.

I am moving my midas to a new 55gallon tank..He/she bullied all the others except my Cory Catfish!..My midas doesn't chase them, bite them or anything even when they're right in his face!!They been together since day 1 (about 4months)..But do midas ever get bored or stressed from being alone for so long?

I don't think so. They can be pretty happy with a territory all to themselves :)

I have a beautiful aldult female Midas,I have had her for over 14 years she have some
great qualities, she dances for me at feeding time, years ago she used to bump the
top glass to let me know to cut the light on so i put a timer on the light I believe
her longevity comes from frequent water changes and her tank undergravel filter.
I delight and get great pleasure in watching Her.

    Hi Andy,
I too had a Midas but I had a male, my "Big Guy" was about 8 -9 inches long. I certainly know what a pleasure they can be... and hev"danced the ballet" at feeding time, just like yours. He also likes to take food from my fingers, he would reach out of the top of the tank a couple of inches just to get some frozen blood worms and he would play tug-o-war with nightcrawlers. He had more personality then some people I know. I never had a fish that was so cool and so smart.
Unfortunately I lost him to a malfunctioning heater. I had him for about 6 years, I was heartbroken when he died. I hope to have another one someday...
