I've had my two bleeding heart tetras for about a year now. I chose the hearts because of how beautiful they are, they immediately caught my eye! When I got them, they were planned to be tank mates with my female betta. They all surprisingly got along, but recently my female betta passed. My bleeding heart tetras, panda and pocky, seemed kinda sad and wouldn't swim around after my betta died, so I went out and got 5 neon tetras. everything seemed fine the first day, but each day after, one would disappear. Only one neon tetra survived and it's in a different tank now. But after I rearranged Panda and Pocky's tank they are more active now! Their current tank mates are 6 ghost shrimp and one snail. They are very nice to the shrimp, thankfully. These guys are very beautiful and relaxing to watch. They're aggressive to smaller fish, but they haven't hurt any shrimp so far!!

I have a red cap Oranda and when i looked at her today, It looks like either something ate the red cap off her head or it rotted off. Has anyone dealt with anything like this - I gave by weekly water changes and take special care of my fish so I have no idea how on earth this could have happened. I Recently put in an anti-algae chemical but Iโ€™ve never seen her in such bad shape and Iโ€™m very worried. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

This red cap is called a wen. As beauriful as it is and gets more beautiful as the fis ages, I can have its own problem. In its tine folds and crevices where bacteria can thrive as well as fungus. To avoid this I would be careful to give the water in the tank top priority. You should be using a canister filter and water changes 1 at least once a week. Having spent years raising the beautiful Discus which requires very pristine water for survival needing several water changes weekly depending on the its condition.. \I would first quaratine tank and treat it with one of the many treatments on the market. I use

Our knife fish did it again... we now have 4 in the tank. We donโ€™t have room for this many knife fish. Now Iโ€™m going to have to net one and sell it to the fish store that we purchased the original 2 from.

I have had my Tex for about 2 years he is about 7 inches now. He has killed all other tank mates up to this point but recently I put a divider in the tank. I have placed a baby Jaguar Cichlid in the other side and a large Pleco in his side. The Pleco has taken a beating but is fine now. The baby Jaguar has gotten through the divider and is still alive! The Tex even protects him, they swim together, eat side by side, and if the Pleco comes close to the baby Jag he gets a stern warning by the Tex. I have never seen this sort of behavior before, I am truly shocked (and happy). As a side note try feeding your Tex right out of your hand, just watch out for them teeth!

Thats why I'm putting a pair of [SMALLMOUTH BASS]. to breed in a long long long long 40 gallon tank and move the female to another big tank after they spawn the male will care for the babies. I will add 4 male pumpkinseed sunfish, 2 clown loach catfishand 1 single male Rio grande texas cichlid that will live in a cave in a dark area with red coral trees.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

We have 2 Oranda Goldfish and they are the most friendly fish I have had. We have them along with two other small goldfish in a 75 gallon tank. We cannot seem to keep the ammonia level at 0...It ranges from .25 to 1.0 every day. We are beside ourselves as we now are changing and vacuuming the water every day...We have no idea what else to do. We add Prime and feed only once Everything else reads normal and we are lost as to what to do or not to do. We have tried everything...please hopefully someone can help us remedy this

Has the tank been cycled completely and u shud def have like a fluval filter . Doing constant water changes is not good. Do it once a week consistently and no more than 20 percent . If he she is acting normal and eating and u do only one water change a week and have the proper cycle time b4 u added the fish eventually it will even out. Fish do seem to acclimate to water parametersgoing a lil up n down the important thing is that the water parameters donโ€™t change drastically in a small Amt of time. I have a feeling the daily water changes r the problem Good luck

I have a pair of black belts, one is 5 inches one is 8 inches and they had babies about one week ago. Second batch. These ones I think will survive.

I meant what i said about me putting a single male blackbelt cichlid with a male (largemouth bass) that I've already spawned to keep the male blackbelt cichlid in check. Y'all black my comments on this cause you know its the truth the blackbelt cichlid is a bully and y'all can't except the facked that a male largemouth bass wont tolerate being bullied.
  • Wolfman๐Ÿบ - 2020-04-02
