Siamese Algae and Chinese Algae eater are NOT the same fish. the Siamese Algae is also called "flying fox" and look a little like otto-catfish. Chinese Algae and the Siamese Algae are often confused for each other because of the latter part of the name.

I got a Talking Catfish named "Scooby"...because he loves these algae disc we call "Scooby Snacks" from the cartoon show....Me and my wife meet and got married we founded out we both love fish so Scooby was the first fish we brought and after 25 years and thru two major hurricanes where we lost power for weeks Scooby is STILL alive a well...

I have read certain armored catfish and plecos have been kept with Red Bellies. I was wondering is a Feathersail Squeaker Sydondis could be? They are a larger, spiked cat and live with Cichlids in the wild. Thank you.

I have 4 of these wonderful fish. 2 have have stripes towards their back end. Why? Also 1 has gone missing. It sounds impossible but I can't find him in the aqurium any where. Does anyone have an idea where he is? I love all my fish very much. It wasn't a cat, none of the other fish ate him, and I didnt see his body in my net or close to the aquruim. Thanks

Almost every week at least one person writes in that they can't find a particular fish. Most of the time, the fish magically reappear. It also seems that most are found to be just find behind the filter. I have no idea why but this happens frequently. Good luck and I hope you find yours.

Killifish are notorious for jumping out. You need a lid with little to no gaps around it.

these killis can jump out flip around alot so he could have fliped along way from the tank.
to stop this you should get a lid.

The stripes indicate the sex of the fish. Male or female.

I have 2 small fantail fish: a red one and a grey spotted one. They grey seems to suffers from swim bladder problems (in the evening it swims on his side and he struggles to reach the bottom of the tank). So just to help the grey fish, every morning I feed them a soft boiled pea and later on in the day, just a few soaked flakes of fish food. My question: is it enough for them? They haven’t got any other source of food (plastic plant as decoration). I am worried that in order to keep the grey one well, the red one is starving or perhaps both of them are hungry. Thanks.

Hi, I have just acquired two Rice Fish , I think Medaka, and think I have a male and female. I am wondering what temperature of water is best to encourage breeding. Now that we are moving into July I am hoping this is a good season for breeding them. I am quite chuffed at the prospects of increasing my collection. The main reason I took to them is because they can withstand colder temperatures even in the winter here in the UK. I have a small, lily pond inside my garden greenhouse (lower walls of wood) where it is submerged into the ground about 20 inches. I may leave some fish outside over winter as the pond is quite deep and protected. I will likely place a clear cover during the coldest months here in the UK. My pond rarely gets a thin layer of ice in winter so I think they will be fine. The other reason I like these little fish is because I have tried goldfish in this pond but they came from a very large, fast swimming group tank and so jumped out when put in a smaller environment. Of course they are so much larger than Rice Fish. I love how calm Rice Fish are. Hope you all have fun with yours.

I have a pearlscale it looks massive been treating for dropsy still eating but getting bigger been treating now last 2 weeks still swimming looking happy but just fat
