"I have two Australian finches, one boy and one girl, both are approx. 7 and 1/2 years old. The girl finch has what appears to be tumors growing at the back of her neck. Noticed this when she kept losing her feathers in this area. Other that these tumors, she looks well and is still eating well. I understand that the life span of these finches is approx. 7 years, so they are indeed getting old. Can you give me a guess of what these tumors are, are they common in finches? And since they have been together for 7 1/2 years, what will happen to the remaining finch when the other one dies?"
