"About two weeks ago a white dove landed on my balcony and I seen that it had only one foot.I tried to get close and it flew to a nearby tree for a few minutes and then flew into the house through an open door and landed on a counter. After a day I was able to place the dove in a large Macaw cage that I had and it has been there since. It seems very adjusted and coos and cleans itself and eats well. I wonder if this was a lost dove and how did it lose it's foot. After some time would it be advisable to release the dove and expect it to return?"
