"As a wildlife rehabilitator I have delt with many white tail fawns. People need to be warned that a deer is born with soft hooves which harden in about one week. I am concerned with a deer as a pet as I have been kicked by a 20 pound deer and was cut like a razor blade thru the elbow and received 90 stitches. I would have to assume the smaller deer would have to have a lot of attention paid to their hooves. Think twice before you consider one as a pet."
