"I just got a 10 week old (supposingly) short hair hamster, the first day he was very active like he was in the pet shop, he played on his wheel for hours, ate and ran around. Then the next day and to the present (1 week now) he never seems to stay up for more than 15 minutes and thats just to go get water and food. The cage has a house that's attached to the side of the cage and he never seems to want to leave it. He goes to the bathroom in there too so I clean it everyday and when I do, he gets freaked out sometimes and hides in the cages tubes (habitrail cage) and I try to be very gentle and quiet when I do it, waking him up slowly. I hope he's not sick, has anyone ever heard of this? I can't tell if he is though because he is eating, cleaning himself, drinking water, and can run fast and climb up these 1 and 1/2 ft tubes, I'm very worried."
