"I have two ferrets, one is 6 1/2 years old and has the glandular disease and the other is approx. 4 years old. They bring so much joy to my life with their silly behavior. They were my sons ferrets and I just couldn't take watching them be caged and ignored so I took them home with me and they have free run of my home. They go to the bathroom on potty pads and are doing great. I am all for keeping these little guys lose but please know all the dangers when having a loose ferret. It is just my husband and myself so we always look down when opening the refrigerator, outside door on anything that they can get into. Also I've been told that recliners are a huge danger as well as the washer and dryer. They depend on us to keep them safe as well as feed them well. I also wanted to say that I chose not to do the surgery to remvoe the cancer on the older one but chose Lupron injections instead. He has been doing great for about a year now. I would love to hear from people that chose the surgery just to compare notes. My ferrets fur has grown back and he appears to be healthy even though I know he still has the disease."
