"Last year I set aside some Albino Weather Loaches in a 160 gallon plastic tub, hoping that if I left them alone long enough, they would breed. I have a fish farm and a couple of weeks ago, as I was feeding the fish, I noticed a couple of them right under the surface in typical breeding behavior. The male wrapped around the female, just like a Betta and presumably squeezing the eggs out of her. It looked like they would be depositing the eggs under the floating algae (the algae in that tub looks like a shag bathroom rug). I was in a hurry, and paid it no mind and moved on to feed the rest of the farm. I never witnessed any eggs, and may have lost a large number of fry when I kept scooping out the algae over a period of several months so as not to clog the strainer and overflow the tub. Finally, it dawned on me what had happened and my suspicions were proven when I saw a 2 inch fish and a smaller one still, on the bottom among the algae. My employee tells me there are many many more hidden in the algae. I will try to collect some and publish pictures when I do."
