"I have parakeets in an outdoor large cage 3' x 4' x 6' tall. I have a couple of houses in the cage and they do use them to breed. I usually give the young birds to a local feed store to sell (friends). I only keep one male and a couple of females as my regulars. This year I have had three born with duck bills. The bills do not point down like a normal parakeet. It sticks out straight and is kind of flat. One of birds bill is kind of crooked/bent funny. They are happy go lucky, eat well and don't show any signs of having other problems. Could this be a symptom of in-breeding or is it a throwback to some other kind of budgie/parakeet? Just wondering."
