Number of comments: 398I'm glad to read stories about people buying bunnies as pets, but please if you can visit a shelter first. There are so many bunnies looking for a home. Specially after Easter, this is the time when people give them up. I too have a bunny name Snoopy. He is 3 years old. He is a dwarf and so cute. Thank you and enjoy your bunnies.

Anonymous 2009-10-28Hi,
Can anyone help ? We have a pedigree silver fox netherland dwarf rabbit who lives outside in a hutch with a hutch hugger (has no insulating qualities). As winter is coming fast, is he ok with extra hay and maybe an insulating hutch hugger ?
I hope to hear from someone soon.
Best Wishes
Ian
Ian Davy 2009-10-20We've been searching the internet... my 15 yr old daughter & I want to buy a Netherland Dwarf... we haven't had much luck on finding any in our area. I don't mind driving a few hours away.
What are the price ranges? Understanding we're not looking for a show bunny.
We have 2 cats now, sisters adopted from shelter. I raised hamsters most of my life... and have always wanted a rabbit...the Netherland Dwarf seems perfect for us. We are animal lovers and would love to surprise my daughter for her birthday the end of oct.
Any help in finding one, tips, advise on these sweet little animals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - Amy
Amy 2009-10-10I have a common garden much loved spayed male rabbit and I would like a companion for him, I.E another bunny. Benni is a much loved family indoor bunny. He has plenty of freedom outside his cage of a day time and is a nice friendly rabbit. My local pet shop has netherland dwarf rabbits for sale 2 males and 2 females and I must admit I have fallen in love with one of the females and I am considering buying her as a companion for Benni. We have 2 cats who we mainly keep away from Benni, although we do allow a small amount of close attended contact to enable Benni's safety, and ensure there is no pet jealousy. Benni obviously would love to frolic with the cats but they stare at him rather aloofly hence my desire for a companion for Benni. Benni is now a year old and I would like advice as to whether a female would be an ideal companion for a spayed male or should we go for a male (which we would get spayed in the future). The cats would obviously only meet the new arrival through the bars of the cage and we would introduce Benni and his new play mate gradually, keeping them in separate cages until we are sure they can happily share Benni's larger cage. Any advice gratefully received.
Rachel Green 2009-08-29can you breed neverland and dutch rabbits
zyron 2009-08-24I had one that lived up to 14 years old. This breed has the most variety of personalities. You'll never know what you're going to have. They range from extremely friendly to extremely aggressive. Some eat vegetables and some prefer only grains. Some don't enjoy being outside. Some do. Some like being picked up and be petted, even some licking your neck for saltiness, and some don't. My first rabbit enjoyed sitting on my leather couch while my second wants to get out of there ASAP! Weird, huh?
Anonymous 2009-08-22I have just gotten my first neverland dwarf rabbit, mine is 1 year old female so we just called her libby. Her last owner just bred her so I thought it would be nice to give her a home. Libby is very tame and loves her new hutch as it's a lot bigger than the 1 she was in. I would recommend this type of rabbit to other people. She loves to be handled by myself and my children.
T davies 2009-08-18I've had a dwarf bunny for 5 or 6 weeks and it died today august 12, and I do not know why it died yesterday. The bunny was acting weird and felt weak. I knew he was going to die today. I need some information why he died. I took really good care of him :(
marlene lopez 2009-08-12Our family has had a wonderful Netherland Dwarf rabbit for 8 years. He is an indoor rabbit and allowed to run the house when we are home. He has a 4'x5' cage for times when he is alone. Though he doesn't like to be picked up, he is quick to jump into the lap of anyone who sits on the floor and will groom anyone who sits still for that tongue! He is a great pet and my two boys absolutely love him. They have trained him to 8 words and love to play toss with him. Though he sleeps more now than when he was a youngster, he still loves to run around the furniture and 'dive' under the tunnels the boys make for him. We hope he will be with our family for many more years!
happyrabbitinTN 2009-08-11HI! Lolz! My name is Isabel and I have a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. I mean, how cool is that! Her name is Cinnamon as she's a beautiful golden brown rabbit. My best friend has one too, but her's is male. I told her that we'd get them married when they are 3 yrs of age. How cute! Just imagine them exchanging carrots! Once I get my new dog, I'll definitely share how it's going with all of you!
Isabel 2009-08-03LOLZ. I have a rabbit and her mane is Cinnamon Thumper Dickson.
Anonymous 2009-08-03I have a netherland dwarf 7 weeks old her name is sniffles. I call her that obviously
because thsts what she does. My bunny is perfect because when I set her next to she hops on my lap, anyway. I would strongly recommend the Netherland dwarfs to children who can understand the concept of responsibility.
chris 2009-07-17I have a Netherland Dwarf bunny and my family and I thought that it was a girl, that is until today July 16,2009. It was funny to find out that the whole time that we have had him that he is a boy. His name is Brownie and the children wanted to change his name, but it fits him cause he is a chocolate brown and very, very handsome. I just love that he is easy to care for and he loves to play.
Luvina 2009-07-16Hello my name is Erica and I am 16 years old I know quite alot about Netherland dwarf bunnies. erica 2009-07-11Hi, I just got my third Netherland Dwarf 2 months ago. I love her! Her name is Cherries because it is albino and albino rabbits have red eyes. She is very amusing because she is always knocking over her food bowl or be silly. She is very nice when I just want to watch TV with her sitting quietly in my lap. Her favorite vegetable is celery. She loves it when I buy her treats from the pet store. Now I am trying to convince my Grandma to buy a rabbit! So I came to this site to print out some information about rabbits. Cherries is such a card!
Cecilia Horchos 2009-06-27I have a 9 week old dwarf! She is tan and loves to run and play. Her name is Ginger.

Louise 2009-06-09I have a one too, but she is black, gray, white, and tan. She is 4 1/2 pounds and as big as a rat terrer, but she is so cute.
bob 2009-06-09Hi I want to know where to get a netherland dwarf bunny. My birthday is soon and that is what I want.
lenox 2009-05-28I have just gotten a beautiful dwarf rabbit. He's back with blue eyes, he has one little white patch on his head, and has a white nose. I have called him Patch!
Sarah 2009-05-25I'm only 14 and i love my netherland dwarf! her name is maybelline and she's white with gray spots. we named her maybelline because she has dark circles around her eyes and she looks like she is wearing too much makeup. she loves to stay up late and watch spongebob squarepants and push her ping pong balls around.

miah 2009-05-22Hi!
I'm out to look for a new pet bunny...this will be my first of the lagamorph species, and I really don't know what breed to get. I've heard conflicting information on a lot of breeds. i'm looking between a netherland dwarf, holland lop, or mini rex. I really want a cuddly pet that is ready to be spoiled rotten with attention. Can anyone suggest to me a good breed, even if its other than the three I've listed! yumiyoshi3@gmail.com Thanks!
yumi 2009-05-14i have just bought 2 x 7 week neitherland bunnies, they do not seem to be drinking water out of the water bottle, this bottle has a ball on the end to stop it from leaking, should i have a bowl for this or how do i get them to start drinking from the bottle Can anyone help use????
stephen and Berni 2009-05-04I have a silver netherland dwarf bunny. He is a handful! He's really sweet but has tons of energy. I agree that red eyed bunnies are awesome, and I've owned one before. When bunnies are babies it's really hard to tell if they are male or female sometimes, and have actually brought a bunnie home thinking that it was a boy and found out 3 years later that it was a girl.
jess 2009-04-30Hello fellow Netherland Dwarf lovers. I raise and show Netherland Dwarfs and you are exactlly right they are cute, cute, cute... I had my very first lilac a couple days ago. Very happy!
Raelena 2009-04-29I own 2 neverland dwarf rabbits and they are so cute. They are only 10 weeks at the moment but are already litter trained and have wonderful personalities. I have a blue and the other is a greychin. These are my babies, I love them to bits. They are great company, especially when you have had a rotten day.
lisafoster 2009-04-27Hey omg, bonnie is like so cute. She is like my dream Netherland Dwarf bunny. I want one just like that.
Taylor 2009-04-25My friend bought to netherland dwarf rabbits about five months ago. They named them Hamish & Andy. They had a huge hutch which used to be a bird aviary. Andy started digging one day and suddenly she was pregnant (they thought they were both boys). She let me have two of the seven kits and they are adorable! Daisy is all white and has blue eyes and one sticky up ear and one floppy ear. Charlie is completely pale brown. I love them so much, thanks for the information. I also love Dwarf french lops because MC Skidmark (her other rabbit which died before they got H & A) was a french lop dwarf
serena 2009-04-23I think that people are cruel for saying that the red-eyed Netherland Dwarfs are ugly and weired. I believe that it is all a figure of their imaginations. The world has taught people to assume that anything having to do with "red eyes" is demonic, but it is not. God created red-eyed bunnies just as he created blue and black eyed bunnies. They all deserve love and a home. I must admit, it was other people's comments and views that made me second guest having a red-eyed bunny. Then I had to realize, my bunny, my money my home and if they don't like it, then they are not invited to my home. It took me a while to become comfortable and feel at ease with my White, red-eyed Netherlands Dwarf Josiah.
Bunny Love 2009-04-17OMG, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME BUNNY. Same color, same markings, same name. He always licks my face as well and I'm wondering if maybe this actually IS the same bunny. I picked up a bunny named thumper at a humane society and he was about two years old. Anybody know? I have a picture but unfortunately it's on another computer...
Anonymous 2009-04-11I need help, my rabbit has the snuffles or something like that. He is not breathing well, he is gasping for air. It's like a fish out of water, the vet bill was 1,326 dollars, way expensive. We just bought the antibiotics, he is the same. Anyone have advice.
sam 2009-04-05i have some questions on how to care for a drawf raabbit she turn 2 yesterday not sure what i should use to give her a bath you why she has 2 teeth sticking out of the month i hope someone can help me answer some questions purp2le8@yahoo.com
Sidney 2009-04-02Man I love Netherland dwarf bunnies. My girl Bunnie is about to have babies, her name is MARLINA. Her husband's name is MARLIN, and yes he is a wizard {ha ha ha}. I hope Marlina has lots of baby bunnies.
stev 2009-03-30I just bought two dwarf bunnies and they are so adorable. I named them Lucky Travis and London Tarrist. They will complete my home of loving pets. I will keep them indoors and protected them and also make them an outdoor cage in a shaded area and they will be able to go underground. But first I will put fencing under the dirt so they don't get out. That way they'll keep cool in the earth when I am in my garden planting my veggies. I had rabbits growing up and they get really hot and can die of heat stroke if not protected. They need to be in a cool place and safe from other animals. Love your pets, everyone needs care and nurturing.
Evol
Evol Diaz 2009-03-28Can you please tell me where I can buy a Netherland Dwraf Bunny. I think they are so adorable but I cannot find a breeder around me. I am located in Sumter SC and I am willing to drive to NC or GA. My email address is tiffany25262003@yahoo.com.
Thank you
Tiffany
Tiffany 2009-03-25Hi. Well, after checking out this site, I finally decided to adopt my first Netherland Dwarf yesterday. He is an eight-week-old chesnut buck. I absolutely love him. He is so sweet and loveable. He is not jumpy nor skittish at all. He sits still and lets my children pet him. He is so full of personality. I am so glad I found this site. Everyone's comments really helped us decide on this breed. My family and I just couldnt be happier. We actually plan on buying an all black baby Netherland from our local petstore later today. Thanks so much!
Lorna 2009-03-20Help! We just got an 8 mo. old Netherlands Dwarf male and he is very aggressive! We were hoping for a bunny that loves to be cuddled and held and this one just bites us continually. We make sure to hold him properly and are quiet and gentle. I don't think he was handled much in his previous home. But this behavior has me thinking we adopted the wrong rabbit! I have heard that neutering will help and I've heard that since there are no females around, it's probably not so much of a hormonal issue as a behavior problem. Is there hope, or did we just get one that will always be aggressive??
Nancy 2009-03-16Hiya! I'm new to this, so I thought I would send a comment. I'm also getting a new baby rabbit in about 10 days. He is a cross breed between a white albino Polish Dwarf and a black Netherland Dwarf rabbit. His name is Shea, which I named him after a character from a game of mine, which is sad really, but he is just like the character. He comes from a family of show rabbits. His name is Irish, meaning stately one. He is very sweet and very friendly. He is Jet black, and is a lot like his dad, the black Netherland Dwarf. He has one younger brother and a sister. His brother is shy, his sister is gentle, and Shea is the cheeky one. I'm getting his things this friday. Even though I dont have Shea yet, I still love him. He is 6 weeks at the moment, but I cant wait to have him here at his new home!
michelle 2009-02-28Hello I am currently finding out information on the dwarf rabbit. I wanted to know eaxactly where I can buy one here in the Miami area....Please helllpp! thanks =)
Carla 2009-01-27Hi Barb. I have three ND's and your bunny seems like she is very sick, especially if shes not eating. Rabbits are not supposed to have fruit of veggies until they are six months of age so it would be good to stop feeding her them. If she does have a cold, she should improve over time but she needs to eat and drink so monitor her and make sure she does. Also, check her belly for bloating because one of my rabbit's belly was not eating and his belly was severely bloated and he died that night. I'm not an expert but if you want expert advice, go to "Allexperts.com" they helped me with alot of my rabbit problems.
erica 2009-01-23We are new parents of a sweet little netherland named Dolly Biscuit. After reading about the breed, we decided to purchase one as a family pet. We fell in love the moment we saw her! She is light/medium gray in color and has the cutest little face. We have found out quickly that she loves her treats and chews and also her little jingle balls. I'm glad that I found this website to read other stories from owners and also share my story, too.
Tana 2009-01-17For christmas my Hubby got me a netherland dwarf. She is beautiful. She does have some aggression issues towards strangers, but if I show them how to deal with her she usually does great. She sleeps with me at naptime curdle up with my cats and dogs and me on the bed. She plays with my cats. And the biggest surprise is 30 days after we got her, she had 4 babies. All are well and doing great. 6 days old today and Cuddles is a good mommy. Hope everyone is patient with and enjoys their bunnies.
mandi 2009-01-15Hello, my name is Barb. We have a netherland dwarf named "BooBoo" and our little girl has been sick since Christmas day. BooBoo started out with difficulty breathing and making squeaking noises with each breath, her breathing was labored. We took her to the vet the next day which resulted in an exam followed with an injection of Baytrill and tablets to be crushed and given to her for ten days. The tablets simply did not work because mixing them with water was too traumatic for her and too much liquid at one time. We took her in a second time which resulted in another exam (different Vet) and a vial of Baytrill and enough syringes to give her one injection for the next 10 days. Since then her breathing is less labored however she continues to have a lot of mucous draining from her nose. I wipe her nose numerous times every day with a damp cloth, sometimes there is so much that it is dry and crusty. BooBoo is not eating, she does drink but not much. We put carrots, lettuce, Timothy hay and fruit in her cage but to no avail. We love our bunnies and it hurts to see her in this condition. If BooBoo has a cold, will she improve in time? Please advise! Thank-you!
Barb 2009-01-12HI! Well I have a N. Dwarf, she is really really sweet. People that say that they are mean are wrong. I just got my bunny one week ago. My bunny likes to be petted and loves to cuddle. I love it when it runs, it looks so cute. I had a N. Dwarf a long time ago but it died. I was so sad. It died because my lil sister threw it down the stairs and my house is three stories high. And before I let her hold it, I told her 'don't drop him', and it was like I didn't tell her anything. Well, that was all.*^_^*
*ILOVEM.H* 2009-01-02I own a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit and she is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Her name is Desiree and she is over a year old. She seems to have a coloring that I don't see on many web pages about rabbits. She has slate grey fur on her back, ears, legs, and face. She has a white nose, white around her eyes, on her belly, paws, and under her tail. She has a light brown patch right behind her ears on her neck. She is absolutely adorable and sweet natured. She has a very expressive face, and you can almost read her expressions and mood. My family and I love her very much, even the cat will play with her. I was wondering if anyone has seen any other Netherland Dwarfs with this color pattern.
Jeremy 2008-12-19Hi my name is Julia and I also own a dwarf netherland bunny. I love him so much, he is like one of my babies. I've owned him for 8 months. His name is Rocky. He is a smokey grey rabbit and loves to chew on paper, his little log, and his food bowl.
My family all fell in love with him. He loves to hop around and go real fast in circles and act silly for us. He loves being petted between his ears and used to sit on my chest and fall asleep under the covers.
Recently I put my hand in his cage to take him out to play with him and he started scratching me and even tried to bite me. This really upset me because I love him so much and I don't want him not trust me. He is my baby. It brought tears to my eyes to think that I did something to make him change towards me.
Now I'm scared he will bite me.
I don't know if he just needs his own space and doesn't want to be messed with.
I love him with all my heart and I want him to trust me again, but I'm scared of him now.
I guess he is just going through a stage just like my teenage children do. He is my baby and I will forever love him.
julia hernandez 2008-12-07I have a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. I have had her for about 7 months. She has always been very loving and sweet. She would lay on the couch with me watching tv for hours just about every night. All of the sudden, in the last 3 weeks, she has made a complete turn around. She is biting and scratching me. I can barely get her out of her cage to exercise. I have a nice large pen for her. She has everything she could want. When I put my hands in the cage, she attacks me. She has really bitten me hard. I have a medical problem and I am not very strong and I can not believe that this little bunny is so strong. It scares me that I may drop her because she kicks me so hard that I can barely hold on to her. I have read that females calm down if they are bred. How long does that last? Will she get mean every time she wants to breed or do they calm down after one breeding? What should I do? She is too much for me right now. When I was a child I had a male rabbit and never had any kind of behavior problem.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Rhonda Russell
Rhonda Russell 2008-12-02I have ten Netherlands Dwarfs. We originally bought two but we were told they both were males and later we found out one was a female and was pregnant. We separated them after that but we kept making mistakes and letting them reproduce two more times. Now we have ten but we are very happy with them. We have had only two major accidents. At the beginning with the first and second litter we let them be together when they were young and they ended up fighting. One morning we found one of them a female, Pikachu, with part of the fur in her face ripped. We immediately took her to the vet and got her fixed and ever since then we keep them separate in separate cages. Each male has his own cage and females can share cages because they are less territorial and can get used to live with each other. The second accident we had was about two months ago my wife put the cages in out patio. The patio has a roof so she thought the rabbits would be ok with the shadow for the day while she was cleaning the house but when I checked them I found out one of the males Noodle, was shaking and acting weird. We immediately took him in the house along with the other rabbits we cooled him down but it was too late he had a heat stroke. We treated him at home and he survived it took him days but he got full control over his body and can do everything normal now he loses balance from time to time but he is happy again. It was very sad to see him struggling when he lost the mobility of half his body. If you get a rabbit make sure you take precautions when leaving them outside they are very delicate and they can easily die from a stroke. I love my rabbits as if they were my kids. This rabbits are not mean. Some have a stronger character than other but they are good rabbits when you show them respect they will show you love. Pikachu and Noodle seem to be aware we save their lives because they are the rabbits that lick us most and they seem happy to see us every time we get home. We have another male that he is very nice to me now that I don't pick him up anymore. Some rabbits don't like to be picked up they rather be pet in their cages or outside in the floor. As humans not all rabbits are the same you will learn how your rabbit is as you interact with them and you learn what they like and what they don't like and they will be nice to you if you respect them and treat them right. The question shouldn't be if Netherlands Dwarf are good for kids or not the question should be Are your kids good for the Netherlands Dwarf. If your kid is respectful and knows how to handle small animals and can learn to treat the rabbit the right way and learn what the rabbit likes and dislike then it can be a really good pet. Otherwise its better to get a bigger rabbit or even better a different pet like a dog. Sometimes Rabbits can look cute but they might not be the right pet with you they are not a pet you can leave on the corner and just fill their food and water. They need to be cared for, special attention and sometimes they need medical care as well as they are very delicate so think well before you buy a rabbit. Don't let them die because you made a poor choice. There are other pets that need less care and it breaks my heart to know that there are little Pikachus and Noodles not being taken care of and let die because of it. Please think before you get your rabbit.
Oscar 2008-12-01Hey everyone! It's me again. Last time I added a comment I had one very aggressive and territorial ND Doe and now I have two going on three. I got a ND Buck and I am going to get another doe to breed with him when he is older. Anyway I found out why my rabbit was being so territorial. She is around breeding age and apparently all does act like that until they are bred then eventually they mellow down. O and for that one girl who said ND with red eyes are ugly yea SOOOO not true!!! My ND buck is a himalayin and he has red eyes and he is sooo cute!!!! He licks your face and is very nice!
trix 2008-11-13Hey My name is Isabella and I just got a netherland dwarf rabbit! His name is James. He has albino eyes but he has grey feet and ears, and a black nose and tail. He loves cuddles and he flops down on me to watch tv! lol I love him so much! I got him from a market for five dollars!
Isabella 2008-11-04Rabbits are so cute. I am getting a rabbit soon from Jordan. Female, age 8.
jordan baker 2008-10-14like omg i have a brown dwarf bunny too!
STEPHII<3333333 2008-09-20Hi, it's me Kirsten again. My N. Dwarf is a cross. I have a sister who also got a rabbit although she got a black Dwarf Lop. Her name is Rosie and she is very sweet although needs extra care as she kicks when you pick her up and gets a bit too enthusiastic when you put her down and tries to jump out of your hands. Cotton-Tail my N. dwarf is adorable and she never kicks. She is quiet and loves getting cuddles. Today both of them munched a whole clump of Bak Choy. They really like it. Earlier today Cotton-Tail weed on me! It was gross. I had to take off my jumper and put it in the wash. It was so funny. By the way if you get a baby rabbit you must take lots of photos of them as they grow quickly! I got a very cute picture of Rosie scratching her ear with her foot.
Kirsten 2008-09-13Hi! I'm getting 2 dwarfs, both black (but I haven't yet seen them so I don't know whether they're lops or not). I decided to get 2 because its nicer when they are together, so when I don't have time to play with them, they can play with each other!
I have never had dwarfs before so I am doing all the research I can, and getting lots of advice from friends. It all started when I was playing with my cats in my house and someone knocked at the door, it was my mum's friend. She wanted to talk to my mum about this club thing that they've joined. My mum was across our field, so while she was coming back my mum's friend asked if I liked rabbits, and I said that I loved rabbits! Then she said that she new a lady who had baby dwarf rabbits and if somebody didn't take them she'd put them down! I begged my mum, and in the end she agreed that we could get 2! yay!
If you have any advice for me please tell me on the blog.
p.s. I am not one of those people who gets a pet, plays with it for a week or so, and then gets bored with it. I am willing to put a lot of effort into the's bunnys.
Prudence 2008-09-11Hi, my name is Kirsten. I am getting a N. dwarf rabbit this Saturday. I was kind of worried because I had read that N. dwarfs can be aggressive. Thanks to everyone's advice, I am no longer worried.
Kirsten 2008-09-10I have a netherland dwarf and she's never tried to bite me. She is black and she has the sweetest personality. She loves to explore and loves to be petted and picked up. If you are not picking them up carefully they may become aggresive when you put your hand in the cage, but otherwise I recommend a netherland dwarf to everybody! They're very affordable and love attention!
Anonymous 2008-09-09Hi! I love Netherland Dwarf Rabbits! They are the cutest!
Laura 2008-09-08Hello everyone! My name is Ally and I just purchased my Netherland Dwarf yesterday. I was a bit worried about getting a dwarf because I have heard that they are mean, but she is the absolute sweetest bunny ever! Her name is Ebody (eby for short). She loves cuddling, and her favorite way to be held is in baby position! Whenever she is in baby position and you put your chin over her, she licks your neck! It is sooo cute. I strongly suggest a netherland dwarf if you are looking for a pet rabbit.
Ally 2008-08-22As alot of you guys said Netherland Dwarfs are not mean. you are very right! They are very very nice. And if any one would know it's me. I raise, show, and beed them. We have around 100 rabbits! And most times they are sweet, sometimes they are mean. But usually it's a stage they take. Just remember if you are planning to get one, give it lots of love and respect, and you both will be very happy!
Amanda 2008-08-17o.k. if you are going to get a netherland ddwarf rabbit here is some advive for you.
A lot of people think that netherland dwarfs are really agressive and mean but they real;y aren't viscious. They are so cute and adorable and so nice too.
Infact, I'm about to get one on wednesday and I know about everything that you should
know about a n. dwarf. I read this one message and this girl let her rabbit eat TWIZZLERS right out of the bag, and everybody should know that if you give your rabbit sugar it could either get super super sick or it could die. o.k. that was such horrible advice. Please don't think I'm stupid. I'm going into the 4th grade and I get a's and b's.
Alyssa 2008-08-13My grandad has 20 adult netherland dwarf rabbits, 13 girls and 7 boys. They are all soooo cute and have their own. The reason there are lots of mixed reviews is because there are lots of different rabbits, humans aren't all the same so why should rabbits have to be. The majority of ours love being held and stroked but some like to be held up and some along. You just have to get to know your rabbit. Some will love the company of all animals but some will hate it, and some are very territorial and some love you to stroke them in their cage. There are very rarely vicious rabbits, but if you have one, the key thing is trust. The rabbit must know you respect that it is their hutch and must come to you in their own time. We find the boys tend to be a little more territorial than the girls, but it really just depends on the rabbit. To anybody looking into have a netherland dwarf i am sure you have been told they are a lot of work. But they don't always have to be. You can have cared for your rabbit in 10 minutes each day, altough they do like lots of fuss and attention. By having an organised way of cleaning them, most rabbits will choose one corner as their "litter tray" and you can simply clean that corner each day, and your rabbit won't smell much at all. We do, however, have one rabbit with head tilt who almost died and all of the vets said her chances were slim, but she survived. We had to syringe feed her for almost a month and we made a special cushion. Well, good luck to everybody who wants a rabbit, I hope you get your furry little friend soon!
ellie 2008-08-10I disagree with the people that say they are aggressive. If you are having 'mixed thoughts' GO WITH THAT THEY ARE GENTLE TINY RABBITS! My friend has a netherland dwarf and she is breeding them and i will get a baby! But i asked her if she ever bit her and she said 'shes never even tried to.' It was only the second time i ever SAW the rabbit and i held it for the first time...she dident even swerm around or scratch!!!! These are the BEST rabbits in the WORLD!! They are VERY cute!! They come in MANY colors and only the red-eyed whites have red eyes!!! (bc personally i think red-eyes are scary and ugly) But i am getting one for myself and i am having NO DOUBTS about this breed!!
hellokittyy46 2008-08-10I have a netherland dwarf doe and she can be aggressive a lot, so I would not suggest getting her for a kid. Netherland dwarfs, along with any other rabbit are very territorial. They do not like people putting their hands in their cage. If you want to get a rabbit for a child I HIGHLY suggest getting an american fuzzy lop. I had one and he was the best rabbit I could ever ask for. Unfortunatly he died about two months ago and the house just isn't the same without him.
trix 2008-08-01I recently adopted the cutest 6 mo. old gray & white Dwarf bunnie from a Pet Rescue facility. I absolutely love rabbits, we just had a bunnie die a week before we bought Smokey our newest memmber to our family! Dwarfs are the cutest bunnies ever! Ever since we adopted him, he has been the happiest bunny and always gives us kisses for recuing him! We love him so much! He is our 3rd bunnie, we love them!
They are a joy to have!!
Lisa MM 2008-08-01I am currently looking into getting a Netherland Dwarf, but I am hearing mixed reviews. My bunny will be around little kids sometimes, but they are used to having to be gentle as many people in my family have recently gotten small puppies. I want a bunny, and I know it's a responsibility, but I'm not sure how much care it requires. I've also heard some disastrous stories about these bunnies' tempers. Some websites have said that they are much more aggressive and make terrible pets; while others boast about their lovable nature. I want a pet that I can play with and that can be around children at least sometimes. I wonder if anyone can help me decipher truth from reality.
Tiffany 2008-07-29I got a Dwarf Netherland on Easter from my boyfriend, and his name is Scooter. He is the most amazing animal I ever had! He does so many unique things that I've never seen an animal do before. His favorite thing to snack on, (but only on rare occasions) is twizzlers. He will rip the twizzler right out of the bag and eat it. Or this is another one that gets me, I will sit on the floor and he will run laps around me for a good 15 mins. It is such an amazing pet to have, he is such a good bunny and I would not trade it for the world!
Fawn 2008-07-27We have 2 N. Dwarf rabbits - both male. Litter box training was a bit trying but it's done now and well worth the patience. I feed the bows ONLY OXBOW pellets and OXBOW grass / hay. Once they turn 6 months old, the hay will become 70% of their diet and the pellets will be cut way back. Vegetables will be introduced at 6 months and fruits there after. I love these rabbits the way some people love their dog. N.Dwarfs can be extremely playful and express themselves very well. We get kisses from the rabbits every day. One of my rabbits only weighed in at 0.6 lbs and the other at 1 lb. These are not the type of rabbits to have around very small children - unless the children are taught to be careful and GENTLE.
Jlarsen143 2008-07-25I have just recently gotten a rabbit (I don't no what breed but it is a normal one lol). Even though she gets loads of attention, we think she might need some company. Me and my sister were at a farm the other day and we were holding n.drawfs and we fell in love with them. Even though they scratch and nibble abit, they are so loveable and cute. and seem like the perfect pet!
Katie 2008-07-22I have a netherland dwarf whose name is sweet pea. I'm showing him in our county fair this week! He has been a showmanship champ 3 years in a row! Wish me luck!
jaden 2008-07-16I as well have a netherland dwarf who is about four months old. I am 15 years old and I have had at least one rabbit in my house ever since I was four and my american fuzzy lops (who just died a little over a month ago) breeder told us not to give a rabbit fruits and vegetables until it was 6 months old and I now do that with every rabbit I get. But fruits and veggies are safe for rabbits (just do not give them to much at one time it upsets their belly). If anybody else has any questions I would be happy to try and answer them!
elp♥ 2008-07-10i just got a baby netherland drawf and it is soooooooo cute. His name is Cheeky, he favourite food is celerly. Cheeky is grey.
Lucy 2008-06-29I have A VERY cute netherland dwarf, her name is Holly. Awwww!
madison 2008-06-26I have a netherland dwarf rabbit, she's black and her two front paws are white. Her two back paws are grey. she looks like a white sox bunny! she's so cute. she likes to snuggle a lot, but sometimes she gets a little fiesty with me. She'll bite and scratch when she doesn't want to be bothered.
sara 2008-06-26I have had some rabbits who were vary unholdable. But I made one holdable by picking it up and holdingit even though it did not want to. So then he got used to me picking him up and now he loves getting a nice belly rub while I'm holding him!
Gina 2008-06-25I actually purchased a netherland dwarf for easter. He is so adorable and loves being out all day to run around. The only problem I have is he does not like to be held. The only tine I can hold him which is for a very short period of time is when he is in his cage. Any suggestions...
Tammy-Ohio
Tammy Smith 2008-06-13I have a 6 week old dwarf rabbit and she is the cutest thing ever. She loves to snuggle with me but she also enjoys running around. She's the best pet I've ever had and I recommend one to any animal lover!
emma 2008-06-13Hi, I've just gotten my first pet rabbit, a little dwarf. She's so cute. We have called her Alice after Alice and Wonderland. That was my 4 year old daughters idea, she suits the name though. I am a bit confused of what food I should be feeding her as I have read and been told different things! I heard that fruit is bad for a dwarfs diet, does anyone have any tips please. thankyou. x
katie charles 2008-06-12Right now I own 8 rabbits (2
dutch, 2 Lionhead, 2 Tans, 1 new zealand, and 1 Holland Lop). I also have one dog. I am 12 years old and love animals. I try to take them out everyday. I would suggest rabbits to any animal lover, I personally think they are even better than dogs. I really would like a Netherland Dwarf, they sound so cute!
Katie 2008-06-08Hi, I am very excited. Today I'm going to get my first rabbit. I hope we have a great relatonship together! I chose a netherland,
she is amazing.
Samantha 2008-06-03my first rabit was a dwarf he was grumpypus.
nina, age 9 2008-05-28We have an all black male netherland dwarf. He is the cutest thing ever. We got him because my son is allergic to cats and dogs but is fine with rabbits. We keep him in the house and he is very spoiled. We call him Bunny. The kids couldn't decide on a name and while I was training him to not go in certain places, I would say "no Bunny" and he got used to Bunny. Now he comes when I call Bunny. He is a very fun pet. He stays in a cage when we are gone and when we get home we let him out to run where ever. He is litter box trained. We love him to pieces. He gives us bunny kisses all the time. We got him a doggie bed and a ball made out of hay. He loves to play with the ball. You put it in his bed and he will grab it with his teeth and throw it out of his bed. Than you put it back in, he throws it back out. Great pet to have.
sally 2008-05-23Hi, my name is Bethany. I love my 6 month old netherland dwarf, Tilly, she is so cute. My only concern is that she seems to be coming in to season and she seems to want to have sex with every thing she sees. Sadly we cannot find a male rabbit to mate with her.
from Bethany
Bethany 2008-05-17Hey, it's me again. I just got my netherland dwarf rabbit about a week and a half ago and she has been absolutely awesome! Her name is holly and her color is tan and black. She is the cutest thing ever! Shes loves to play in my closet and jump, and all around my room. We just got her a bigger cage yesterday and put a shelf in it for her and she loves it. She mostly sleeps on there (she is laying on it right now). But all I got to say is, if you are looking to get a rabbit get a netherland dwarf rabbit (maybe not if your getting it for a kid because netherland dwarfs squirm around and scratch alot).
*erica* 2008-05-07I have had many rabbits in the past. When I was 6, we had about 3 or 4 on them. Later though, we gave them to a Girl Scout troup because we wanted a dog instead. After a few years we again wanted a rabbit and we got Mr. Tumnus, a lop/other-breed-I-don't-remember. Moses (the dog) loved his playmate. A year or so later Tumnus died of a brain aneurysm. Moses was very upset when he lost his best friend. So a few months later we got his brother Benny. Not even a year passed when he too died because a raccoon attacked him while we were gone on a day skiing trip. At the time we didn't have a fence so poor Moses was tied up and couldn't do anything. Now, it's been over five years and again I want a rabbit. This time though I want to get a Netherlands Dwarf rabbit, so he or she can stay in the house. Not forever no, I will let them out in the daytime to eat grass and whatnot, but at night and when we're on trips. I also like the fact that they are really small and fuzzy. I just love them! Wish me luck and I hope I do better this time!
P.S. My sister and I were thinking about getting a girl and naming her Fraulein Maria from the Sound of Music.
Moses' Friend 2008-05-06I got a Netherland dwarf from a family that didn't have time to spend with him anymore. His name is Nibbles and he is all black. He is litter trained and is never caged. He was about a year old when I got him and when I first brought him home he was really nervous. He hid out all the time and didn't really like any attention from me. He gradually got used to me and now he sits in his bed and stares at me with his huge eyes until I pet him. He also hops up on my bed at night and in the morning so that I will pet him. I never thought that rabbits could such good pets. Netherland Dwarfs are also good for some people with allergies. I am allergic to cats and dogs but not my bunny's silky fur. I am very glad that decided to adopt this special little guy. :)
Felicia 2008-05-04I have a dwarf myself, and I absolutely love her! Her name is Angel, because she is just that, an angel! She is so sweet, and loves to be played with and run around in a portable pen. She plays with her toys too. I feed her apples, carrots, pellets (a limited amount per day) and sometimes lettuce (I use it as a treat.) She is an easy keeper! I let her out in a pen for at least an hour a day (unless the weather is bad) because I have to keep her in a cage in the house. I have two dogs (which is why.)
Amanda 2008-04-27I have a netherland dwarf rabbit. He is 10 months old and so cute. He absolutely loves his tunnel and loves to run around. Also they are very easily litterbox trained.
meggie 2008-04-23My friend and I recently just bought a Grey Dwarf Rabbit. It's heaps cute and loves to jump around. It's mad.
Maddie & Ellie 2008-04-21I love dwarf rabbits! I have a male 6 week old and his name is snowball. He is white with a little bit of black. I love him, he is so awesome.
MLGxGyPzYxEL1T3 2008-04-11I am hoping to get 2 Dwarf rabbits so can breed and I am so excited!
I wonder which color is the best for show rabbits, like at a county fair.
chrisinda 2008-04-10Hi! I have a netherland dwarf and I love her. She is so adorable. Netherland dwarfs are really energetic and love to chew on things. My rabbit's name is Camie, and she is really cute. My advice to everyone is to get a rabbit. They are really fun pets. Camie makes me smile everytime I play with her. She hops and jumps on furniture like it is the end of the world. Netherland dwarfs are really cute and loving pets.
Miley 2008-04-05My rabbit just recently died and we're looking for a new breed of rabbit. I'm only in middle school right now, so I have a lot going on and would need to get two just to make sure it doesn't get lonely. When I asked my parents they said I could only if it was small, and I found this breed and fell in love with them! I can't wait! I already know i want two girls (my last one was a rather large breed of rabbit and a boy, and have picked out names! I want to name them Kihli and Kayli.
Anonymous 2008-04-05Wow, I have a white one. They are great and friendly, I think everyone should have one!
makaela 2008-04-04I'm getting a netherland dwarf rabbit soon and I am SO excited! I have an american fuzzy lop right now and I want to get him a playmate. I really hope they get along because I have always wanted a dwarf rabbit, they are so cute!
erica♥ 2008-03-30I just got my Netherland Dwarf today and he is so cute! I named him fluffee. He was just sleeping and when he was in a dream he made this strange sound. It sounded like it was crying but he was really just talking in his sleep! It was so funny! He is white with a little bit of brown on his ears and tail. He loves his grass. He is very active and likes my dog. When he first met my dog he started shaking and my dog went insane. After a while they were fine. Fluffee stays in my room and keeps trying to ecscape into the hallway. Netherland Dwarfs are so cute and so friendly. I would tell anyone who wants a rabbit to get a Netherland Dwarf!
Emali 2008-03-24I inherited my daughter's Netherland Dwarf when she went to college last year. His name is Wallace and he is adorable. He has a great personality and disposition. I almost lost him this past November. We came home to find blood all over his cage. We rushed him to the vet! It was discovered that he had a mass in his bladder. Although it would cost a lot of money, I decided to go ahead with the surgery, and the doctor's removed a crystalized stone almost the size of his bladder. Wallace miracously survived the surgery and is completely healthy today. I was told not to feed him alfalfa pellets, and that I should feed him Timothy Hay pellets. The Vet told me that pellets should only consist of 25% of his diet and the rest should be leafy greens and carrots. At first he did not like the change in his diet, but now he loves all the greens and only eats a small portion of pellets. He has maintained his weight and his coat is shiny, and he just seems so happy with the change. Because I never had a pet rabbit I just fed him what I thought was good for him. Our Vet's have told us that the alfalfa pellets were first invented for rodents and rabbits that were in labratories. Of course these animals were not expected to live a long life, so the alfalfa was OK to use. Unfortuantely I had to learn what I should feed my bunny the hard way, but thank God he is now happy and healthy. I just love the little guy so much. I always need a dose of rabbit-therapy at the end of the day and he is always happy to give it. I highly recommend Netherland Dwarfs to anyone who wants a pet that is not a cat or dog, but still want an animal that is intelligent and loving.
carol 2008-03-23Netherland Dwarf rabbits are the greatest. I just got my first about 8 months ago and I love him! Though he is a mix and has a bit of Dutch in him I can still see the dwarf in him. He can sometimes get a little agressive but that is only at night like when he wants to breed. This breed is the best kind of rabbit to have as a pet because of their great personalities. My rabbit always has a way of making me smile.
ellie 2008-03-13Any netherland dwarf I've owned has always been high strung and nasty.
Devon 2008-03-05My friend had a bunny so I would go over like all the time, and we would play with the bunny. I'm begging my parents to let me get a dwarf bunny so bad. The dwarf bunnies are so cute and nice, and they are very intelligent. I love dwarf Bunnies, they are awesome pets to have. I would suggest this bunny to anyone, if they asked what kind of rabbit I'd suggest they have.
rachie 2008-02-03I am so happy because I am getting a Netherland Dwarf bunny SOON!
ali 2008-02-02My Netherland dwarf rabbit got a ear infection shortly after a small animal show. If any one is asking what to do, take your rabbit to a vet if you see their heads tipped to one side constantly, take them to a vet IMMEDIATELY! Mine died and I was unable to help him becuase I caught it too late. Please be attentive to your rabbit especially after a show.
Masi Steele 2008-01-22Netherland Dwarf rabbits are, in my opinion, the best pet to have. They're generally sweet, well behaved little rabbits. Mine used to love cuddling and stealing cookies from me. The only real downside is that they don't live very long compared to many pets. My Ken-Ohki recently died at 7 years of age, and it was really tough adjusting to not having his inquisitive little face poking into mine trying to lick my nose.
But they are very sweet- very affectionate pets if you take good care of them. I'd definitely recommend them as a good pet.
Sami 2008-01-16I got my little guy 5 months ago and he is the best ever! I love him to death, all my friends that have seen him keep telling me they are gonna take him home with them. They are the most delightful pets and I dont know what I would do without him. We just got a foot of snow. They love snow, and so my friend and I were letting him walk around and we had to make little paths because he didnt want to jump! Then we put him away and he fell asleep. When he woke up he stretched like dogs do, by putting their butts way up in the air and yawning. It was so cute! He is also gonna get the cutest little brother or sister (we are gonna get him "fixed"). I CANT WAIT! You should definitely get a netherland.
Katie 2008-01-14I have the cutest baby dwarf rabbit in a chocolate black color, named Cocoa. When I got her she was too young to tell if she was a boy or girl, so I picked a unisex name. I call her a girl anyway, but I will get her checked soon. She is so adorable, I love her so much! Right now she is eating carrots and hay. I always let her run around my room. It is so funny when she goes hyper. You wouldn't believe it! She loves to lick my nose, and when i say "back" while laying down, she will get on my back. I got her a leash and take her for walks. Everyone is so amazed! I love her and truly suggest this pet. She or he will be your child and best friend.
Tammii 2008-01-10I just got a new netherland dwarf named Joie. He is the nicest bunnie i have ever held. I'm going to put him in the rabbit show this year. He is a red eye rubie.
Becky 2008-01-06I'm about to move into a new house in the country. There i will raise these adorable little dwarf bunnies. I have looked all over the web for the different types of bunnies and I have decided on the netherland dwarf. I think they will be perfect! :)
Brianna 2007-12-30I bought a holland lop doe about 6 months ago. She was bred when I bought her and also extremely timid.1 month after we got her she had her babies, they were all somewhat exotic colors. We sold all the babies and we expected her to calm down but she didn't.I got a Netherland drawf and I have none of those problems with her! she is perfect!
Sarah 2007-12-08I have a bunny named Tinkerbell. She is my first bunny and I love her. We got her in August near my b-day. It was at the mall and i had 200$ so i got her. I let her run around my room all the time.
BRITTANY 2007-12-05Update on Clover, comment left 6-20-2007. She is still doing very good. She won a costume contest for Halloween. I made her a Tigger costume... She won first prize! She was so cute. We are about to get her Christmas pictures, and I can't imagine our life without her. She is sweet, cuddles in bed, watches movies with her dad and I, and has been called America's Favorite, as her nickname. We could not have picked a better pet. We live in an apartment, so space is very limited, and she doesn't make a mess, bark, or meow. She is absolutely PERFECT, and we would not trade her for anything in the world. We love her.
Evelyn 2007-12-02I have always kept gerbils as pets, but my last one recently died. I really wanted bunnies for Christmas, but I don't really like bunnies who get very big. I visited Pet Depo the other day and I fell in love with a dwarf bunny. He was sandy colored, really cute. In my Christmas list I will include a list of reasons why I am responsible and mature enough to own one or two. Maybe I will be able to convince my parents!
Merlene Smith 2007-12-01I am not aloud to have a pet because my dad is really allergic. I love animals so I looked on line for an animal he would be able to live with. I foud the Netherland Dwarf, and now I am getting ready to ask for one! I am putting a binder full of stuff together to let them know how much this adorable little pet can make a wonderful change in my life! Wish me luck! (I am 11)
Chandler 2007-11-24Our little Netherland is the most precious pet. We cannot keep our hands off of him. He was born with malaligned teeth. A " Bunny Specialist" vetinarian removed the front teeth in two operations. He was also neutered. He is a happy. little being that loves a clean living area. In the day he owns our huge kitchen. At night he sleeps in a cage in my large, walk-in closet! I can't imagine life without him and I appreciate every day he is alive and well.
marian currier 2007-11-12I have a netherland named bun-bun. He is 3 years now and i luv him to death. He is always there for me when i am sad. He is so cute, his feet and ears look like they where dipped in chocolate. But he is getting old and i am afraid he might die. :-(
Andrea 2007-11-12I just bought a blue netherland dwarf. She is super cute. I named her smokey. I had one named Ritz but our snake got out and ate her. I was very upset.
renee 2007-11-05I have a Netherland dwarf named Romeo. He's fawn colored and such a heart throb. I love him to death.
Pippy 2007-11-01I bought my dwarf bunny from this store called Animal Trax in Madison Alabama. She is a cute bunny that is brown and black. She loves to dig, chew, and hop around. Whenever I come to her cage and touch the handle she goes up to the door waiting for me to open it to set her free. I think I may need a smaller one for me to train it better because she is kinda hard to train. So I'm going back to the store for a trade. Love the bunnies with your heart and make sure you are positive of what you are buying. ~BEST REGARDS~
Bunny luver
bunny luver 2007-10-26I have a cute little orange netherland dwarf. He'll be 2 years old soon... and he's so small and cute, and the only bunny I know that gives dirty looks! It's so cute! he squints his eyes and wrinkles his nose... but it's too bad for him that he no more than a handful... because he get cuddles anyways... despite his grumpy appearance!~
~CANDY~
Candy 2007-10-26We used to have a dwarf bunny, snow white and very VERY cuddly and friendly. It looked liked a Netherland Dwarf, though one can ever be sure of these pets origin I guess, unless they come with a certificate or something. He was the most wonderful creature that ever walked this earth but sadly he passed away a few days ago at merely the age of 1.6 months. No apparent reason, the only illness he ever got was a disbacteriosis from which he was perfectly cured. We woke one morning just to see he passed away, just like this, he wasn't even sick or anything. We've given up on owning a dwarf rabbit again, mainly because we've been getting the very same reply from all the pet shops around we've visited. They live a short 4.5 years max, and still most of them pass much earlier at about the age of 1-2.
Vess 2007-10-22i have a rabbit and he eats or takes a bite out of everything i have,
but he is so cute and cuddly!
Anonymous 2007-10-21My rabbits name is Nane. She is very beautiful, but she has a problem with biting and i dont no how to stop her.
colby 2007-10-07Netherland Dwarfs are somewhat grumpy with young kids, so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone 9 or younger. They may be small but they still need a lot of space! Don't buy them small cages, they need to have at least enough space to hop 4 times across their cage. If they can't, the cage is to small. My Netherland dwarf, Cotton, can hop 6 or 7 times across his cage and he loves it!
Hope you like Netherland dwarfs!
kayla 2007-09-24i've had my little bun-bun for almost 7 years. he was a very good little bunny, he's never bit or scratched anyone. he loves fruit and veggies especially strawberries. he loves to run around with our cats and dog and cuddle. he's white with little black spots. i'm sad that he is sick now. i'm not sure how long they live, but he has blessed our family with his sweet demure personality and was loved greatly. they are wonderful little creatures. we love you bun-bun!
jackson 2007-09-12I have had my rabbits for nearly three years. I got Saffron when he was just a baby, six weeks old at most, and he is a darling little creature. He is an orange mis-marked Himalayan. If only for his markings, he would be perfect for showing. When I got Chablis she was overweight, mean-spirited and two years old. She is a Netherland Dwarf/Rex mix and is snow-white with blue eyes. Over the years she has calmed down and is incredibly affectionate. I used to keep them in a puppy pen that took up most of the floorspace in my room, but now I just let them have free run of my room. Saffron is usually content to snooze through the day, but Chablis enjoys running and kicking until she can hardly stand, and then viciously murdering my collectable plushies. Ah well, I love my rabbits dearly.
Luna 2007-09-02Netherland Dwarf bunnies are VERY funny and very playful! :) They make great pets!
ashley 2007-08-23Hi! My name is Jane and I just got a Netherland Dwarf bunny! his name is eclipse because he is all black except for his face which is white! =)
Jane 2007-08-16I love mine so much, they are so great!
camille 2007-08-09my rabbit's name is kirby, he is the best. he never bites, he always listens, and is so calm he loves to be around other rabbits and people. sadly kirby is far-sighted so he doesnt have great vision. kirby is the best rabbit and the cutest. i love him more than any pet.
Piueti 2007-08-02 Netherland Dwarf Rabbits are like the best kind of rabbit you can have! They are so sweet and cute. My rabbit won first place in showmanship, breed and color!
Lisa 2007-07-30I have two black and white rabbits named Sammy and Oreo. They live in a storage room we never use, and they hop around in that room like a cage. We always give them fresh air by taking them on their leash for a walk outside. Rabbits don't like to be carried, they get scared very easily, and are afriad of being dropped on the ground. Instead of giving our rabbits just regular pellets we get their food from the brand WILD which has a mixture of dried fruits and veggies mixed into it. We give our rabbits half of a papaya pill to give it vitamins. We are lucky to have rabbits like ours and we are hoping everyone will enjoy having a Netherland dwarf rabbit!
jasmine 2007-07-30I've recently bought a netherland dwarf rabbit. He is the cutest thing ever. We named him Monster. Yes, he does like to run around and make a mess out of everything, we still love him. We then bought another rabbit to keep Monster company, he is a holland lop - a breed of dwarf rabbits. We call him Charlie. He is so warm and cuddly and he loves to give kisses. I've never owned any rabbits before and this is my first. At first we didn't think that Monster or Charlie would get along, but it takes time. It's been a week and they love chasing each other around and trying to break down the barriers we set up for them. Both of them have very two different personalities which make them great. I think dwarf rabbits are the best.
christina 2007-07-29Hi, my name is Jacquelyn. I have a netherland dwarf and his name is, Thumper also. He has dark brown fur and LOVES to run and play around. Whenever he wants attention, he would come up to my feet and nudge them. He does this a lot! He is full grown and will almost be 1 year old. My dog, Baron who is a vizsula doesn't mind him... well, if im holding him. When Thumper is roaming around our bonus room, Baron trys to avoid him because he is scared of him. But it is not Thumper's fault... my dog is just a whimp. Thumper is the most lovable creature you will ever meet. Whenever you enter the room he will come running towards you. He can lick you all day! My family and I are so happy that I picked him out.
Jacquelyn 2007-07-28I love netherland dwarfs. i'm getting one and i'm gonna call her lola.
Roxy 2007-07-27Hello my name is khrysten and i got a netherland dwarf. his name is curlyjoebob. he is white with red/pink eyes and has grey ears and legs and has a patch of gray around his nose and has a little bit of brown. he is a very good rabbit. i have 3 rabbits and he is the nicest, but these animals grow long claws! its crazy but i love him to death, they are amazing
Khrysten 2007-07-27hi i have just gotten a netherland dwarf rabbit 2 days ago. her name is patches and she's 9 weeks old. she's the cutest thing. this is my first time getting a rabbit and i am glad i chose i netherland dwarf. i fully recommend getting a netherland dwarf because they are sweet animals. i also recommend to keep your rabbit outside because my rabbit loves the fresh air instead of beung cooped up in a house
Anonymous 2007-07-02I got a lionhead rabbit (Max) for my daughter about 2 months ago from a local breeder, when I went to pick it up I found out he also breeds dwarfs. He said they wouldn't be old enough for another couple of weeks so I gave him my name and number and told him I would like the silver one when they are ready. We have had Max (our lionhead)about 3 weeks longer than Ruby (our dwarf) and Ruby is much more social than Max. She is a wonderful bunny and I think the dwarfs are the best for kids. Max has become my rabbit and Ruby is my daughter's, who is 2. Ruby loves the attention she gets from my little one where Max is still very skiddish. I love them both very much and they both get along well with our cats.
Brandi B. 2007-06-28I have two dwarfs, Lizzy is my doe and Chocolate Chip is my buck. we recently had a litter of four babies and they are ready to be seperated from mom. The thing I find funny is that the buck has a cage next to the doe and if we remove him for any reason he has a tantrun like a little kid! He is always watching her every move and they give each other "bunny kisses" through the cages to each other. it is very cute to see.
charity 2007-06-28hi, l have two dwarf rabbits. Their names are lily and oliver. Lily is black and oliver is grey. They are so cute. I always wanted a rabbit and now i have two of them. They are the best. I play with them all the time.
Isabella 2007-06-27Hi
I have recently purchased a Netherland Dwarf for breeding. He is a Himalayn buck named Pepsi. I am very happy with this bunny. He has settled in quite nicely. One thing I have observed about the Netherland Dwarfs is that some (definitely not all) prefer to be left alone. They are very low maintinance bunnies, that is why I chose them to breed. I am currently looking for a doe or 2. My advice would be, for a fist time bunny they are very good. They are also good for people who are familiar with rabbits. I say this because some of the rabbits can be mean but with a little love and care they turn out to be wonderful bunnies! They might take a little patience but it is definitely worth it in the end. Another advantage is all the colors! You can pick whatever you like. I hope this information has been useful to you! Happy Dwarf shopping!
Casey J. 2007-06-22I just got a Netherland Dwarf May 12, and she is the cutest, and sweetest bunny EVER. We absolutely LOVE her. Her name is Clover, and she is now given free reign on the apartment, and has done very well with it, only leaving a few little puddles. I have been very proud of her.
Evelyn 2007-06-20Hi, very soon I'll be getting a netherland dwarf, they are just so cute! I'll have to be careful when it's out of it's cage because I have four other animals (2 dogs, 2 cats) and the two cats and one of the dogs are very teritorial. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has posted comments about there bunnies, it has helped me alot! Thanks, Jacki
Jacki 2007-06-14
I have 2 bunnys, Thumper and Rudy are their names. Thumper is so cute with longish white hair, red eyes, and really fat. Rudy is also very cute and tame with short white hair, red eyes, and is a normal dwarf rabbit size. I love my dwarf bunnys.
Chad R.6-14-07
Chad 2007-06-14My bunny skittles is so cute. he is grey and 3 years old, but still looks and acts like a baby. I love to see him do his funny jumps, and I also loving petting his soft fur while I pet my cutey. he's the best bunny ever.
Brad Duggan 2007-06-06My name is Brittany. I have a Netherland Dwarf. His name is Chubby, he is gray and is about a year old. He is very loving. If you are holding him and start doing something else, he lets you know he wants your attention 'right now'. I got him not very long ago but I think that he is adjusting very well to his new home.
BRITTANY 2007-05-23I love bunnys. I have a Dwarf named Jinney and before I had a lop ear dwarf. I'm sure if they are Netherland Dwarf's, but I think they are. Kesley Keates Cavan, Ontario, Canada
Kelsey Keates 2007-05-21Hi! We have been looking at Netherland Dwarfs for a little over 2 years (we did a lot of research and determined that this type of rabbit would best suit our family) and hadn't found just the right bunny to take home. We were on our way to an outing and had the sudden urge to visit the local animal shelter and there was the bunny we had been looking for. He is a smaller, 2 yr. old Netherland Dwarf, a silver marten. He is adorable with a super temperament. He is a happy, precious little guy - we are in love - he's absolutely wonderful. He was already harness trained and loves to go for walks. He resides in our home. He is completely litter trained. We take him with us everywhere, even to an outside bistro today and he was very well behaved, everyone loved him. We knew he was the right one the moment we saw him and after spending more time with him, we had no doubts. He is most certainly a part of our family now and we couldn't be happier. Our advise to anyone who is looking for any pet... research and take your time, it is definitely worth it!
The Thomas Family 2007-05-21Hi I'm Kelly! My rabbits Sweetie and Cutie ran away and they won't come back...so I'm saving up for a new bunny and I'm leaning toward to a Netherland Dwarf because they are so small and cute! But my mom is allergic to bunnies so it will have to live outside. I hope it will adjust!
Kelly 2007-05-17We got a Netherland Dwarf Bunny last Saturday. He is absolutely WONDERFUL. He just got a bath tonight, as where he came from was not a wonderful smelling facility. There were other bunnies there, and he smelled like it... anyway, he is already litter trained. We used hamster potty litter, covered with shredded paper. He is so cute and VERY SWEET. He is about nine weeks old, and loves his new home. We got him a playpen, and litter box for his cage as well as the playpen. He has not had any accidents since Sunday. He is a wonderful little pet, and I look forward to having him for many many years. He was a great Mother's Day Present!
Evelyn 2007-05-17Hi, We got our Netherlands dwarf 3 weeks ago. She is very, very shy. We also have a polish dwarf, Holland lops and a Mini Rex. The Netherlands Dwarf only likes the male polish dwarf and trys to bite the Holland lops and stays away from the Mini Rex. I was very surprised that she is so shy and does not like to be held. Reading everyone elses comments makes me wonder if she was abused or if something else is going on. I hope she changes, because I feel sorry for her.
Linda 2007-05-14I got my netherland dwarf bunny about 2 weeks ago and it is just amazing. It's the cutest thing ever. When I let it out it jumps on my bed and goes next to me. It's just the cutest, I love it!
nicole 2007-05-10Hi my name is Kat! I got a Netherland Dwarf rabbit and she was 8 weeks old when I got her and is about 5 mounths old now. I love her so much! She is best friends with my other rabbit (mixed breed) Cinnimon. They get along just fine now that they are better aquainted. I love rabbits. I have had 3 rabbits in my life (including the two I have now). I just love our little furry friends!
Thanks alot,
Kat

Gustavo Lopez 2007-05-05Hi my name is Hunter. I have a Netherland Dwarf named Sprite, she is the cutest thing! She always wants to spend time with me. She is very calm and is a light brown color. Sprite is like a little dog! Except easier for me to take care of : - )
hunter 2007-04-28hello, a few years ago we bought a rabbit but awhile after buying it we realized he was a wild rabbit! he died last year :( but we have bought a netherland dwarf recently and they are much easier to look after and are cute little parts of our family. if anyone wants a rabbit i would recommend a netherland dwarf!
kirstie 2007-04-21Hello, My name is Karen, and I own my own shop and I bought a baby netherland bunny at the local pet store. she is a beautiful grey color with darker grey ears and darker grey around her eye area. she is so darn cute and sweet. her name is mary jane and she is the store pet. During the day she runs all around the store and is quite friendly. She greets the customers and allows people to handle her without scratching or anything. she is amazing, but before I let her out to run around she and I have cuddle time where she nestles her little nose in my hair, and she tickles me with her whiskers. at my shop we get slow times so she will sometimes take a nap with me under the blanket. but after cuddle time she likes her play time too, so she will run and hop around the store. then before closing, when I turn out the main light, she starts thumping her foot and its alice in wonderland time. she enjoys it when I try and catch her to put her back in her cage. I swear if rabbits could laugh she would be laughing the whole time at me trying to catch her. she is definitely a hoot to have. Im so glad we found such a good little rabbit.
Karen Mishra 2007-04-21hi i have a netherland dwarf named stormy. I caught him WILD really wild he was just running around and i caught him. Stormy is a real gentlemen he loves to be cuddled and attention. He won second place in the Elmvale fall fair. this means to me that netherland dwarfs may stay small and really show off for the best of causes.
nicole 2007-04-09I just got my Netherland dwarf rabbit 2 days ago. I love pets, especially rabbits, and Brutos (the name of my rabbit) is my thrid rabbit. My other 2 rabbits are not Netherland dwarf rabbits, they're just ordinary rabbits. Actually my 2 rabbits just died a month ago and i really felt sad about it because i loved them so much and i treat them as my siblings. So when i got my new rabbit i felt happy and for me he's the cutest rabbit. I hope that we will be together for a long time.
Jhona 2007-04-05I just got a Netherland Dwarf about 2 weeks ago after my horse died. Little did we know she was pregnant but the babies didn't make it because she was too young. She is the most lovable rabbit and cutest female. I loved her so much I just got another one yesterday! He was supposedly old enough to be sold but is very small. He is getting along fine and hasn't showed signs of any illness. I love Netherland Dwarfs and think they are the best rabbit breed ever! They rock.
Nikki 2007-03-31I got my bunny about a year ago. His name is Chip and he is sooooo cute! I love netherland dwarf bunnies.
Gloria 2007-03-22We just adopted a netherland dwarf bunny about a week ago. We named her Twinkles and she is the best bunny i ever had. She is already starting to come when i call her. When i come in the room where we keep her she stands on her two back paws, and her nose goes crazy. When i open the cage door and give her a treat (Romane lettuce) she gives me tiny little kisses all over my arm. She is so wonderful with my 8yr old daughter. We just learned today how to put her in a trance ( so we could trim her nails) and we got the biggest kick at of it
Kendra 2007-03-22Our dwarf rabbit's name is ChiChi. My son got her about 5 months ago from an irresponsible pet store owner who sold her to my son when she was too young.Apparently, the store staff was not aware that ChiChi was a dwarf rabbit and that her age was only about 3 weeks instead of 8 weeks. He was told that ChiChi was a regular rabbit. Anyway, she got very sick and almost died on us. She was hospitalized for 4 days. Needless to say we took extra care of her when she came home from the hospital and got her spoil rotten. She is a beautiful and playful bunny. My husband and I are the ones who really take care of her. I taught her how to play hide and seek but her favorite game is how to play "toro"(bull). I put a napkin close to her and wave it as I say to her the word toro (just like the bullfighters do in Spain/ and other Spanish contries) and she will come charging in. I could swear that she laughs/ smiles once she gets the napkin. ChiChi also gives kisses, jumps high and does pirouets in the air. Since I am home recuperating from several surgeries, she has been my companion and a terrific source of therapy for me. I noticed that lately, she chews on her fur ( which is dense and very shinny) and wonder if other bunnies do the same or if this is another illness. Otherwise, shes got a good apetite, continues to be playful and just normal.
joyce 2007-03-19ALOHA from Hawaii! I fell in love with the Netherland Dwarfs the first time I san them. I recently purchased a Netherland for my almost 6-year-old daughter. She named "her" Gabriella, Gabby for short. She's fun loving and very calm at most times. This is my daughters 3rd Netherland dwarf and shes loved them all! My daughter has asthma and this is a great pet to have for our situation. They are clean and very easy to care for. Gabby's a sweetheart!
Kelly 2007-03-16i got a netherland dwarf a few months back, his name is elmo. he is amazing. he comes when called and runs to me when he is scared. he is so cute, I spend all my time with him. he is loads of fun! i know how you feel about giving them up.
Cait 2007-03-05i just got a little dwarf bunny yesterday and he is so cute! I named him peanut and he is very sweet. he is still kind of scared because he is getting used to his new home but i think he is starting to like it. he likes to cuddle and hop around the room. hes so cute!
Jaclyn 2007-03-05I found out that my girl bunny is a male bunny because his testicles descended. We call him Cottonkeray anyway, shortening to Cotton. I love my bunny. He is a REW and has become a major addition to the family. I was going to get him a playmate but he gets along well with all family members (except the bird), I know he's not lonely.
NJ 2007-03-03I got a netherland dwarf mix a few days ago. It is so cute! I love it because it is very easy to take care of and loves me a lot!
Tara 2007-03-03i got a netherland dwarf a couple days ago, she is the niceist rabbit i ever had. her name is blu eyes, she is white and very tiny. i could never imagine giving her up.
michelle 2007-02-27they so cute and very hoppie. they love apples, carrots and grass.
tracey 2007-02-26I love my netherland dwarf rabbit, she is so adorable and shes NO problem at all. I keep her inside because rabbits like it not too cold and not too hot. Im glad mom and dad let me have one she is very important to me!
Anonymous 2007-02-25I have a REW Dwarf Netherland. She is adorable. She enjoys playing with our guinea pig and our Yorkshire Terrier (under supervision). She likes to snuggle, jump in the air and lick family members. She does not seem to like our cockatiel. When the bird is around she frequently makes a thumping sound. I love our Keray, she's been a loving friendly rabbit since the first day
NJ 2007-02-22We bought a n. dwarf bunny and she is so cute. her name is cuddles. she is vicious sometimes but she can cuddle too, and we love when she runs around. she jumps and she is everywhere.
Demi 2007-02-17I just bought a grey netherland dwarf i named him Sidney, and he is just the cuttest thing ever. Every morning when i go to get his food he stands up and hangs on his cage, he knows that he is going to get fed. he is only 3 months old. he doesnt like being held but loves when i scratch behind his ears. He loves my dog to. they get along just great! When he is happy he jumps really high and runs back and forth really fast! I cant blink because he'll be somewhere else when i open my eyes. He hides underneath my entertainment center when he hears noise. He loves timothy hay, do not feed your bunny alfalfa it is BAD for them. N. dwarfs are the best bunnies ever and they make a wonderful pet.
Amber 2007-02-07I own a black and tan netherland dwarf called fluffy. She lives inside. she loves to jump on the couch and will chase me if i have a fruit bar. she loves to eat. she lets us know when shes crabby as she grunts. She loves to follow me everywhere.
Katrina 2007-01-30Our first dwarf lived 15 and 1/2 years, dying on jan 1, 2000. he was a mellow male and lived mostly outdoors until he was about 12 and then we kept him indoors. after he died we got another dwarf and she was named gonzo because of her wild climbing and jumping stunts. she would leap from the sofa across a 3 foot gap and land on the papa san chair that she loved to play in. unfortunately she died from a diarrhea/dehydration disorder when she was only 9 months old. very sad to see her go so we again bought a silver marteen colored dwarf and have had her for 6 and 1/2 years, she has never seen grass or been out of the house. gizmo gets to roam the dining and living room areas because we have rabbit-proofed them against chewing. she gets lots of attention and is very much a part of the family. loves to be petted but does not like being picked up at all. likes to sprint around at top speed and is vocal with humming when she's happy and grunting when she is upset. hope she is around for many more years.
Caroline 2007-01-11My fiance and I just bought a grey netherland dwarf and named her Trixie. She is full of spunk and has quite the personality. She has taken to rolling on the floor like puppy. She comes alive at night when Peter gets home, she knows she's getting some parsley and waits patiently for it when he walks in. She's been an amazing addition to our new home and our new lives.
Kirsten 2007-01-10On christmas eve I was given an orange Netherland Dwarf. I fell in love with the rabbit because of his type and looks. The Netherland Dwarfs are the best kind of rabbits for smaller children I think because they only get about 2 pounds. they also don't reqire many things, little food but lots of water and love.
kylie farley 2006-12-25I have a netherland dwarf himilayin buck named Thumper. i paid $50 for him at a show. He is the most correct dwarf i have ever seen! He has sired 3 litters and all 3 were beautiful! Some do have a bad temperament. i don't recommend all dwarfs for kids because some tend to be biters. But some are perfect for kids. Thumper only likes me, and me only! my brothers try to reach in his cage and he grunts and charges at them. when i let him go in the house he'll run around and when he gets scared he'll run back to me. he weighs only 1 pound. he is the most cutest dwarf i've ever seen! He looks a little bit like the "Thumper" above in that picture. i love my rabbit with all my heart!
Haley 2006-12-11 I fell for a netherland rabbit in a petstore just about two months ago.
Having a rabbit for a pet has been well worth it. His name is Jasper
and hes full of life. He loves to cuddle and run in circles. People get right off on him mocking humans by standing for long periods of time and resting on his back. I honestly believe my mood has lightened since hes been here. Unfortunately he loves my ficus tree a little too much, I often catch him chewing on branches or munching on leaves. so happy he can be litter boxed trained though.
Dee 2006-12-08I just purchased my baby netherland dwarf last night while i was working. She is so cute and her name is Diamond. she is white with blue eyes... and very very fluffy like a cotton ball. I was told her dad was under a pound and her mom was only 1.1 pounds, so i am assuming she will stay very small. she is so gentle and just sits on my lap and licks me. in the past i had another bunny but he was huge and full of personality... and lived to 10 years old. but now i just moved to live with my husband and i cant get a dog just yet, so i brought home my diamond last night. i am so excited :)
Veronica-20 2006-12-07I have had my Netherland Dwarf, Duncan, for about 5 yrs. She is pretty bossy, likes to have her food bowl held after filling so she can pick out what she wants, then you can set it down. She loves to sleep in old T-Shirts and loves to play in paper sacks. I have two cats that are her best friends. When I let Duncan out to play they run like crazy all over the house then jump up on my bed to rest. If she thinks I am leaving for work before feeding her she will hang from the top of her cage. Duncan is my second rabbit and just love her to pieces. Sometimes we just sit on the floor and she sleeps in my lap. If she doesn't like you or doesn't know you she will growl and charge at you. For such a little bunny she sure has a BIG personality.
Darla Perea 2006-11-28I have a Netherland Dwarf and her name is Dreamer. She's really small and is a light brown color. She's really sweet and energetic. She's a wonderful pet. People should consider Netherland Dwarf rabbits most of the time for pets.
Fariha Saleh 2006-11-16ok, here's the thing, i love my "dwarf". he was the cutest thing when i first got him (they told me he was a she... i found out a year later that my darling Lola was actually a boy bunny!). anyway, hE was really small and fuzzy when i got him, and i thought he would stay small and fuzzy. i've had him for almost two years and he's bigger than most small dogs! he's still adorable but i don't know what happened. he looks like a dwarf enough... only bigger. oh well!
jin 2006-11-04I think the Netherland dwarfs make great companions and bring great joy to a persons life.
Lauren 2006-10-03 this is my first Netherland dwarf and he is the sweetest rabbit i have ever had. he has the most beautiful eyes and the cutest face i have ever seen. he is so gentle, i have had little kids hold him and he never bites or scratches them. i love netherland dwarfs and i know that you will too!
brynn 2006-10-03I got a pet dwarf rabbit last year. I named him Teddy. I think if more people got rabbits or other animals the world would be a better place.
Tori Bland 2006-09-10These bunnies are so cute and they like to cuddle. I really recommend one of these playful little things to everybody.
Nikki 2006-08-25wow on september 10 2005 i bought a baby netherland dwarf. he was only just weaned and was 1 month and 14 days old. he was adorable. i brought him home immediatly and called him benjamin. he is now over a year old and he is munching on some hay. he lives with a male guinea pig and they are best friends. i have entered my self in 4-H and will be at the cobble hill fair saanich fair and cowichan exhibition. they are great pets, best friends, and cuter than you can imagine. i recommend them to anyone and evryone.
christy 2006-08-21this is the cutest little bunny on animal-World!
Sami 2006-08-18I have a rabbit named Cocoa and i got it for easter,
I love it alot.
Mayumi 2006-08-13I just got my netherland dwarf rabbit today she is a pure bred, 4 month old bunnie, we bought from our county fair. She won second place in the show and her name is Eowyn out of Lord of the Rings. She has been very shy these past couple of hours but seems to respond to her name well.
jessica 2006-08-06i just recently got one of these and highly recommend them
they are so cute and cuddly!
Elizabeth g. 2006-08-05This is emily again (the one who owned eddie.) Yesterday i bought a chestnut colored female netherland dwarf and named her miley lynn. I am very happy, and so far she is very sweet, and very easy to train.
Emily 2006-08-03We just got our rabbit, and he is so sweet! He gets along really well with our 3 female guinea pigs, which we worried about, as they can be quite unfriendly at times! he is friendly, but a little nervous. he moves quickly, so needs supervision, but is generally well behaved. he eats the same as our guinea pigs, grain, pellets, lettuce, hay, etc. we're really happy with him and have named him jack.
rhiannon, ireland 2006-08-03I have recenty had a netherland dwarf named Eddie. Eddie was perfect but seemed lonely, so i got him a friend (a guinea pig, big mistake. Eddie was young so i figured he would be ok with the guinea pig and would enjoy his company. When i first put them together, they were fine but after a while i noticed that they fought a little. i figured that they would work it out, but I kept having to break the 2 up and put them in different cages. One night i woke up for no reason. I just happened to hear slight thumping in the cage. I had noticed days before that he had a tendency to stare at the celing, this was a concern. I looked in the cage to find eddie having seizures. I freaked out so i grabbed a towel and picked him up. I held eddie for hours, crying, waiting for someone to get up in my family. Now i realize how much i love netherland dwarfs, and i am getting another one soon.
Emily 2006-08-01I just got my N. bunny and named it snikers. I am 10 years old and it is my very own pet! It loves to be out of the cage and hops back in when it has to go potty. It loves Alfalfa hay and DOES NOT like carrots...lol. It likes sweet things (sweet potato, apples.) The pet store says it is 8mo old, but my vet says younger. I am so glad my mom and dad got me this bunny. She is my best friend for life.
Debra 2006-07-28I love my netherland dwarf rabbit. She is so tiny and loves to be cuddled, as long as she's not held...she hates that. But I have to say, after being with her for 12 years and still going, (I got her when I was 7 and I'm 19 now) she's definitely the best rabbit, and oldest rabbit I've ever had.
Veronica 2006-07-26I have one named Rosie, and if you decide to get one, make sure you play with it regularly or else it will get really mean and try to bite you any time you stick your hand in it's cage (even to feed it)! I found this out the hard way.
Amanda 2006-07-24Our little dwarf rabbit is named Bunners, after a childhood pet (wild) baby rabbit. I got him from a family whose kids had grown and Bunners was spending all his time in a small glass tank. He's about 7 yrs old and crippled: his right front shoulder was dislocated when he was dropped years ago. He had an inguinal hernia, which we had surgically corrected, along with neutering. He's gained back the weight and good health he'd lost and is sweet, loving, smart, and very happy now. He's in a big cage (without the horrible wire mesh floor) and gets lots of "hop-around-time" out of the cage. Our female beagle loves him and they often lie down together when Bunners is out of the cage. What a wonderful pet he is! We adore him!
Soozi 2006-07-23I have had a dwarf bunny for exactly three years now and my bunny cannot get any cuter. He weighs three pounds and is a dark chocolate brown. He is housebroken and he always comes when he is called. I don't know what I would do without him. He loves to munch on dry papaya, sesame seeds, fresh banana, oatmeal and apple and most definitely carrots. This bunny is my present, past and future!
Natasha R. 2006-07-19We got a female Netherland Dwarf Bunny yesturday. She is white and blue-eyed and my sister and I named her Lucky. She is 6 weeks old and we love very much. My mom says we should leave her alone this week so she can get used to us, but all we want to do is cuddle her. We told all our friends and all they want to do is cuddle her too. She is awesome already and I want to dedicate this to Lucky. "We love you Lucky!"
Stephanie and Elizabeth 2006-07-15I have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit named Lulu. Her previous owners abandoned her and my husband and I "adopted" her as our pet. The vet estimated that she's about 2 years old. She has been wonderful and has brought us much joy and laughter. We've taught her to play It tag (we'll tap her head and then crawl away real fast and she'll come chasing after us). She follows us around and entertains us with her speed running and happy kicks. Lulu enjoys munching on the Sunday paper when I'm trying to read it and likes to unravel the toilet paper. She loves fruit (pears are her favorite). The only problem we've had with her is that she likes to chew on the carpet and baseboards. She doesn't understand the meaning of "No" and often ignores us when we try to stop her from chewing on things. She is very intelligent and it amazes me that something that weighs 3.6 pounds can outsmart two humans. She's just awesome!
Jamie 2006-07-10I have just bought a netherland dwarf two days ago and she is so cute and cuddly. Her name is Smokey because she is grey (her color type is called Chinchilla). She is very much different then my other rabbits especially because I can't walk her outside like my other ones because she won't fit the harness. but she gets held and she watches the other rabbits run around the yard while I walk them. Overall I think out of my three different breeds of rabbits it is the calmest and cuddliest of all!
Mikela 2006-07-09Kinda pushed to adopt this fella. Apparently he's not pedigree, but who cares? lols. I fell in love with him. Named him Garfield as he resembles the Cat that looks like his face got rammed into the wall countless times(flatface).
Grace Lyn 2006-07-07Netherlands are great! I have a young female dwarf named Millie. She is just the sweetest thing, and a great runner! She ran away for a day or two awhile ago, but, she is back home and happy. Whenever we walk by her cage, she stand up on her hind legs and puts her front paws against the cage. So cute!
Bridget 2006-07-06I got a Netherland Dwarf as a foster bunny and because of her stunted growth she'll look like a baby bunny forever. She's got some minor health problems and due to a dislocated ankle she hops crooked, but she's the love of my life and I've decided to give her a forever home!
Lorinda 2006-07-01My rabbit's name is Peach. She is now like a year and a few months old but ever since i got her she is so friendly. She's a lot bigger than she used to be but her love for people is amazing. I think everyone should get a Dwarf rabbit. Her color you probably know is a combination between peach and tan. She comes to me when she hears me. She is my second rabbit Ive ever had. My first one hated me so Peach really made my heart happy. Peach is a really friendly rabbit. She will stay in my heart forever. I LOVE HER SO MUCH.
Fern 2006-06-16My Rabbits name is Thumper. He is about a year and 6 months old. Thumper is a great pet. He loves to hop around, cuddle, and he is litter trained. The only problem i have had with Thumper is that he has a tendency to chew on everything in site. Overall rabbits are great pets to have. They are fun, playful, and loving animals.
Rosanna 2006-06-11I dont have a netherland dwarf but they are the cutest little things i have ever seen and I really want one soon i cant wait !
-chrissy
chrissy 2006-06-04i have a dwarf netherland bunny..she is the cutiest thing ever she has a white body brown patches around her eyes, her feet are yellow on the bottom and her ears are brown with black trim around it.. she is very friendly and doesnt bite.
osia 2006-06-04hey well i just went and got me a 6 week old fawn netherland dwarf rabbit and i named him butter scotch and there is some things that i was told and just a little confused but i guess i will find them out well as of now he is a cute little calm rabbit and so far has worked out really good
leann 2006-06-02Netherland Dwarfs are usually very calm and a bundle of joy... it may also be just me but Vladek (my rabbit) is extremely hard to take care of. He cannot eat ANY kind of vegetable due to their small bodies... alfafa hay causes internal bleeding... and a slight degree change could be fatal! He only eats 1/4 cup of pellets a day. Is this just my rabbit or others? Please mail me if you know:

Kimmy 2006-05-28I have a blue netherland dwarf named Venus. She is so sweet! She gives kisses and even takes naps with me. I give her yogurt treats.. and she loves them! Snatches them right out of my hand. I would definently suggest a netherland dwarf as a pet. They are great!
jodi 2006-05-26I have three Netherland Dwarf Rabbits, two Chinchillas, one Peruvian Guinea Pig and a Westie Dog. They all get along great. My special rabbit is Brownie. He is six years old. I bought him from the Michigan State Fair. Unfortunately, after I had him about a year we realized that he has the teeth problem. The vet told me to put him down. But instead, I have been cutting his teeth every two weeks for the past 5 years. He knows this is keeping him alive. I love him dearly. I can see him aging but he is happy. He is out most of the day with the other animals. He is the animal in charge. In 2005 I purchased “Moe” and “Sunset”. I have never had a problem with them biting. It is amazing how well all the different types of animals get along. I firmly believe that they are much happier with company.
Rebecca O'Brien 2006-05-19Hi me and my boyfriend live in a flat together and we have a gorgeous little black dwarf rabbit. She is called Roxy and loves to nibble on our furniture (so watch out!). Roxy loves to have lots of cuddles and suprisingly she knows her name, when we call her name she comes running! How cute!
We have had her for 4 months and she is just the best!
Anyway i think if you are choosing to get a rabbbit, choose a dwarf rabbit they are the best!
*Ruby* 2006-05-18we have a netherland dwarf rabbit called alfie, idea for people with busy lives, cute, friendly and loving!!
Anonymous 2006-05-05i have a Netherland Dwarf and a Netherland regular. The dwarf, her name is Clover, and the big boys name is Patches. They are real sweet. ok bye!
frankie 2006-05-03These kinds of rabbits are so cute.I have one of those kinds of rabbits at home.
Mallory 2006-04-25i have a black and white Dwarf named Pepper. Pepper has a funny personality. She loves to lick my face! If I'm laying down, she'll hop up on me and just sit there. She loves to sprawl herself out and watch everything. She loves to run around and does her crazy bunny hop. She loves corners! And it was really easy to potty train her. Usually I can tell when she's hungry or moody. She's so cute!!!
erica 2006-04-24I have two Netherland Dwarfs, a male named Apollo and a female named Gypsy. They have such different personalities!! They are both very gentle and never bite. Apollo is very affectionate and sweet, Gypsy is adventurous and curious, also a little rebellious. They are about 6 weeks old and will be going to the vet in a few weeks for a pre-checkup to get neutered/spayed. My family has two Dutch rabbits at home and the only big difference I see right now is size and temperament. The Netherlands are sweet but not as calm as the Dutches were, which is fine now because I'm a college student.
Kel 2006-04-21I have fallen in love with Netherland Dwarfs when I was only about eight years old. My first rabbit that I fell in love with was Cocoa who has passed away March of 2005. My next rabbit is named Inky and I just love her with all my heart. I fell in love with this breed and changing is just out of the story. My rabbit is very sweet, lovable, loyal, and commpassionate. Although the Netherland is known for its bad temperment, I totally disagree; my rabbit loves snuggles and loves to explore more than anything in the whole, wide world!
Anonymous 2006-04-18I just got one of these little fuz balls. THEY ARE SO CUTE.
Mine is soft and black. I highly recommend the netherland.
You must have time to spend with it or it will get mean. you also need room for them to run.
Elizabeth 2006-04-17OMG! I have a Netherland Dwarf and he is so cute. His name is cutie (describes him all the way!) and he is very playful I wish I could have more. He lives with 2 other bigger rabbits but he gets along fine. He knows when I grab the food bag that it is time to eat and he beats the other 2 in a race to the bowl! They are very smart and if you are a new rabbit owner who has them you are going to have soo much fun! And if you are looking for rabbits get a Netherland Dwarf, you wont be sorry! :-)
Mia 2006-04-16I also have a Dwarf named Bonnie! She is sooooooooo cute! She loves to play games and play with a bunch of things! Sometimes I take her to PETSMART with me and she just loves it! She just loves looking around at all the other little animals and looking at the toys for bunnies, I even got her a little bed for her to sleep on! She loves being spoiled and getting brushed every now and then! At PETSMART everyone thinks she's soooo adorable! We even take her to shows and she has a ton of ribbons and 5 first place ones too! She is the best ever. Whenever something's wrong, I know she knows it and always is there for me, I always know I'm not alone!
Miley 2006-04-13i have a 2 1/2 yr old blue otter netherland dwarf(name Gandolf) and hes mean. he is friendly with me but he doesnt like other people. he even attacks the St. bernard we have here. he is fearless. he however is very much a morning bunny, he does the weirdest things. you would think he was an acrobat the way he runs around jumping and flipping in the air. i love my little bun bun, and i fell in love with him the moment i saw him in the pet store. i named him right then and there and came back and got him the next day. i got him when he was 4 months old. but thats all i can think of to say about my bunny seeing as we are limited to words. peace.
Crystal Neufeld 2006-04-10This site has been really helpful for me, I decided I would really like a rabbit. I convinced my parents over and over- they didn't think I would cope with the "effort required to the up-keep of them" Now I am getting one as long as it is small, so this site helped me pick a Netherland or possibly a mini lop-ear though they can grow big
Amy
xxAmyxx 2006-04-09i got cookie (my rabbit) this month. she's great to look after, play with, and have around! she's the best bunny i've ever had, she's so cute. i luv her so much and she luvs me soooo much!
dwarf rabbits are best. so if you are gonna get a rabbit, please get a dwarf one. they are great!
emma 2006-04-02I had an Netherland Dwarf for 2 and a half years. She was quite big for a dwarf and was white. I called her Snowflake and she started to get fauney bits on her. Then on Sunday the 26 of March 2005 we found her under the tree because a fox broke into her hutch. I really miss her. She was so lovely and I will never forget her or stop loving her. A Netherland Dwarf is the best rabbit to get. Their so sensitive and loving.
Kathryn 2006-03-28I love seeing all of the list of comments saying that each of us have the best bunny. Well, include me in the list! Im originally from Australia and its illegal to keep them as pets where I'm from so this is my first experience with a pet bunny. Having a dwarf was the best decision I ever made. 'Cheezel' is adorable, loving, clever and the best friend I could ask for! What would I do without him??!!!
Belinda 2006-03-28
I got my dwarf a week ago, and I wuv hr!! Her name is Clover and she is very cute!! She is a siamese, and she's adorable!! You should really get one!!!
TAbatha 2006-03-28I think Netherland Dwarfs are so adorable that it's hard to keep your eyes off them! I just got mine yesterday and I all ready love it so much! Mine is just a baby and he is just learning, but I think we'll get along well together. I just love to play with him! I just wont get my mind off him. I just think he's so cute!
Sean 2006-03-20 Mr Boots is my first drawf bunny. He is white with brown on his nose, ears, tail and looks like he is wearing boots (thats why we call him Mr boots). He is the most lovable bunny I have every seen. He thinks he is a dog. He runs up to people when they walk in the house because he wants to be petted . He will let me carry him around like a baby and he sits in our laps when watching T.V. When we have family talks he must be included in everything. I do believe he understands what we are saying. he loves to sleep by my pillow at night. I dont like the little gifts he leaves me on my bed sometimes but I love him lots!
Brittany 10 2006-03-20My Netherland Dwarf Lillie has the best personality that I have ever seen in a rabbit. She is very out going and full of life and laughs!!
kristy martin 2006-03-18i've had my netherland dwarf for only a week, but he is an amazing pet. he spends the night in his cage but in the morning i move the cage into the bathroom so he has access to more space. he loves running around that bathroom. i just can't get over how precious the little fur ball is! he's silver/grey with dark eyes and he just has the most friendly and outgoing and cuddly personality! if you're thinking about getting a bunny, i think netherland dwarfs are the way to go!
Katie 2006-03-17My dwarfs name is Buster and he is all white with electric blue eyes and he likes to hide on the couch and when you sit down he jumps up on you and waits to get petted its really cute.
Tori 2006-03-13My bunny bluebell is the cutest dwarf bunny. she is white and brown and is very friendly!
Amanda M 2006-03-12i have the cutest gray netherland dwarf rabbit called pebble. i had her when she was 8 weeks old for my birthday. my parents bought her from pets at home in park trostre, in wales. she has a black nose, paws, and ears. she also has a white belly and sadly a catarak in her left eye. she has just started to do back flips.
***melmister*** 2006-03-05hi, my name is patsy. i just got a netherland dwarf 2 weeks ago. i named her sierra. sierra is very dark brown, with a little white on her chin. she is very soft. sierra is fast, and can jump high. my brother calls her the most 'wascalliest wabbit' he's ever seen! i call her my 'funny bunny'. sierra is just a baby still, so she eats and drinks a lot. we are training her to come, and to use the bathroom in one place of her hutch. her toenails are a little sharp, so i wouldn't recommend holding her with bare arms. as a treat, sierra likes banana, carrot, and celery. netherland dwarfs are great!
patsy...almost 14 - sierra...about 9 weeks
patsy 2006-03-05I just got my dwarf rabbit for my birthday. Her name is Dilila. I am so happy because she is so nice and adorable. I love her cute little ears. She always falls asleep in my lap and i just love her so much. I never had a rabbit before so i am trying to take extra extra good care of her. And i have 4 cats and a dog. my dog is scared of her for some reason and my cats just like to watch her so nothing bad has really happened yet.
Courtney Taylor 2006-03-04Rabbits are great pets, but Netherland Dwarfs are especially great. I believe that all rabbits should be kept in the house as cats are. Rabbits are so much like cats only better because they are not as destructive to furniture and carpets as cats are. ND's are extremely sociable and need daily contact with their humans to be happy. Stroke them, hug them (gently), speak softly and kindly to them. ND's will listen to you and if you are consistent in your comments like, "don't touch that," or "want some food," they will respond like dogs do. I can tell one of my ND bunnies, "want some food?" and he makes a bee-line for his cage and sticks his nose in his dish. Always be gentle, always be kind, speak to and interact with your bunny and you will have a great life together. Also, BE CAREFUL, don't step on your bunny. That is a real danger. I did it once when my female moved under my foot just as I was putting it down. I almost crushed her rib cage, but she was only bruised.
Cathy, NH, USA 2006-02-28i have a netherland dwarf feamale baby rabbit called Thumper i got her in Darwin! She puts a smile back on to my face!
cody 2006-02-28I love netherland dwarfs. I recently bunny sat my Vet Assisting bunny at my high school. He is such a fun bunny to have around and is not big. His name is Tater and is soo cute. I am planning on buying one soon. I would tell someone that wants a bunny to get a netherland dwarf because of their personalities.
Stefanie 2006-02-25I recently bought a dwarf rabbit. I haven't had her for a week yet but she is the cutest thing ever! She is very loving, funny, and hyper! She is the best bet i've had so far!
Amanda 2006-02-21I have a beautiful 7 month old netherland dwarf called Miffy. She is a funny character who runs around her run in circles at feeding time. She often sits in her hay ball and puts her head out of the top like a look out post. Miffy is a lovely pet, she likes to nibble our trousers when we clean her pen and hutch out. i would recommend this breed to any body.
Claire Sharp 2006-02-20I have an 8 week old Netherland Dwarf rabbit named Sqirt, she was born on New Years eve. I love her soo much. These Rabbits can become a hand full at times but they are a great pet to have. Squirts growing rapidiy day by day but shes still has a way to go! I'd recommend this pet to anyone who has a nice tidy, quiet and bunny-proof house. They are great.
Samantha 2006-02-20I have two netherland dwarfs at home that are going to turn five this March. The Opal is Colt and the Blue Otter is Remington. they are brothers and I drove two hours to pick them up. Ther were only 3 months old. My fiancee was not sure but now after almost 5 years he loves those little bunnies and even gets on the floor to play with them.
michelle 2006-02-17My favorite animal is a dolphin. Since we live in Oregon, there's no possibility of getting a dolphin! So, I might be getting a Netherland Dwarf from my local pet store soon. I've been tossing the idea around for 3 years, and I really hope so, because they look about the size and the personality I want. I want to get two, so one doesn't freeze in the cold front we're having. I'll probably only end up with one, though. I'm really excited because I've told my friends about the possibility of me getting a rabbit, but I haven't broken the wonderful news to any of them yet. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces tomorrow on the bus! I hope the Netherland Dwarf works out! -Esther, 12
Esther 2006-02-16I just bought a Netherland Dwarf today(2-4-06) and so far i'm really enjoying her. her name is Thunper. I love rabbits they are my favorite animals. When ever i'm laying down and I call her name she jumps on me and starts to lick me. She's about 6 weeks old and I love her!
Demi 2006-02-04i had two dwarf rabbits, ruby and bouncey. i loved them so much. when bouncey died from an ear infection ruby was left alone. we would let the rabbits run free in the cage and heard them in at night-(very obedient. ruby would always lick my arm (so cute). then we got a small puppy and she hassled the rabbits and ran around them when we took them into the house. then one day ruby LEAPED at the puppy and the puppy got such a shock and was so scared that she hid behind the curtain for the rest of the night (so very funny). in the end while ruby was playing one day a nasty EVIL cat took her away from her only family left and her only home!
we love u Ruby Tuesday AND Bouncey Biscuit!
Katie 2006-02-03I thought Thumper the Netherland Dwarf was so cute! I dont have a rabbit myself but if i ever get one i will get a Netherland Dwarf!
Emily 2006-01-30Hi! I have two adorable netherland dwarfs called Bambi(an albino) and Thumper (grey). they are both brothers even thogh Bambi is much smaller. They love running around our big back garden and cuddling up to each other on my lap! they are really amusing some times, especially when they decide to try and make friends with the birds!! But they are very lovely and fluffy. I love them very much! for any one that is thinking about getting one I highly recommend it.
madeleine 2006-01-28I received a Netherlands dwarf bunny today 24/01/06 from a pet
store in invercargill new zealand. Her name is Fluffy. She is so
loverly. I have had a bunny before, but it died about a year ago.
I will treasure her and look after her. She is very soft and cuddly.
ryan marsh 2006-01-24My 2 month old black dwarf is named Blessing and it is a doe. I bought it as I fell in love with it on first sight! It is active and the most friendly rabbit I have ever come across. Blessing is very brave and fearless too, as it is not afraid of a vacumm cleaner, or even my bigger long hair rabbit named Comfort. She is very cooperative when I groom her, sits quietly on my lap. I like to hug her close to me.
However Blessing enjoys pats as often as it is daily or she will sob. If any day I am out the whole day and I will find tear stains in her eyes. If I satisfied her with pats, this usually does not happened.
Cheers to my friendship with Blessing!
Lyann 2006-01-23i have just gotten a month old dwarf
rabbit. it is white everywere
except his nose. i called it milky lane.
trust me, i`m loving it.
Jessie 2006-01-21Rest in peace, Ginger :(
You lived more than eleven years, such a long time....
October, 1994 - Jan.10, 2006.
You'll be missed.
Love, your family - Deptford, NJ
Megan 2006-01-11My Rabbit, Jess is the cutest most playable rabbit in the world!!! She loves her head being stroked and enjoys jumping in the air, clicking her feet, landing then freezing!! She is still very timid about me but she is gradually getting to know me. I HIGHLY recommend this breed to any couple, child- ANYONE!!! Your rabbit will be a bit scared at first but as time goes on your rabbits trust will be earned.
Declan Connelly 2006-01-02My Neverland dwarf rabit is named bramble. He is 6 months old, i got him in august. He is a black rabbit with a hint of chocolate. He always looks as cute as when i got him. He likes to lick people, it is very warm. when ever you lift him up he relaxes in your arms. He likes lots of attention, but is not bothered if not. He likes to explore. He climbs up your leg and lays on your lap. He likes to play hide and seek and plays loads of games with me.
Virginia Read 2005-12-27I have a grey netherland dwarf, named Patrick, I have had him for a year now, and he is so small, I don't even think he weighs 2 pounds yet! He is the best rabbit I have ever had. I also have a girl half netherland, half lop rabbit, who must weigh like 3 pounds, she loves to eat! If you have one rabbit, I highly suggest getting a companion for it, rabbits are a lot happier when they are in pairs, and that way they have someone to snuggle up with at night. Our girl rabbit is quite a bit wild though, and she doesn't exactly trust humans, which makes it hard for us to pick her up, but shes so cute! We blame her wild side on the lop in her! But its really funny to watch our two rabbits chase each other around, they are so cute.
kelsey 2005-12-25I have had a male dwarf rabbit for three years now and he is the best. He is really laid back and he is great with little kids. He is black and white and is always hopping around and grooming himself. He is a picky little eater and always eats the good stuff first
e.g. If I were to give him a choice between an apple or a carrot he would chose the apple first and some stuff he simply refuses to eat. Picky, picky, picky.
kristin brunia 2005-12-22My dwarf bunny I just got about three months ago, he is a little sassy, but last night I was sitting on the floor and he jumped onto the couch and actually wanted to be pet. So after that he kept poking me to pet him!
Amy 2005-12-22I bought a Netherland Dwarf bunny three months ago and named her Smudge...she has the color of a smudge of charcoal. She is the best pet, she gives kisses and comes when I call her. Ever night we snuggle on the couch and watch T.V. She curls right up in my blanket and goes to sleep. She is box trained and never has an accident, and she just loves her stuffed bear. we call it her baby she never leaves her cage without it, it is so funny. I will never own another kind of bunny...I just love her!!
Lea 2005-12-20I had a Netherland Dwarf bunny named Minnie. She had white fur, blue eyes, and weighed less than a pound. Minnie was a happy house bunny. She would give bunny kisses for bits of apple, and would pick up her steel food dish with her teeth and bang it on the side of the cage (in the middle of the night!) if she was hungry or wanted attention. Unfortunately, she died this past Thanksgiving and we buried her next to the apple tree so she'll always be a happy bunny. I'm going to wait a little bit before I get another pet, but I'll definitely recommend a Netherland Dwarf bunny to anyone who wants a pet.
Ann 2005-12-11i have a netherland bunny and now after i came to this web site i know alot more, after he was abused by the owners who didnt want him any more, so thanks a lot.
rachell 2005-12-08They are great pets! I got mine when I was in 4th grade and he died a month ago (I am 21 now!) :( His name was Tipie and he spent 13 years with me living in 4 different states! I miss him terribly! It's ok though, I just got a new one last night and I can't wait to spend another decade or so with a such sweet pet! RIP Tipie!
jenni 2005-12-06My netherland dwarf is a boy whom i named maxie bunny. He loves to jump and kick his feet in the air. Usually they are in great moods, and they will build their trust in you. To build my trust and bond with my bunny only took about an hour or two! So i highly suggest buying this breed of rabbit and you could be as happy as i am, you and your bunny!
Allison 2005-12-02I have a Netherland Dwarf bunny named Momo. He is white with gray ears, paws, tail and a grey dot on his nose. He's a buck and was 10 dollars at a farm. He is very kind and loving. Right now he is shedding a lot.
Meghna Balakumar 2005-12-01My pet Staone is very nice and is 1 year old. She loves running and jumping in the yard and enjoys playing in the house. Her favorite foods are alfalfa, all greens, and carrots. She is a girl and has had two batches of baby bunnies. Her skin color is dark brown and she has brown eyes. She is a pure Netherland dwarf rabbit. Her husband, Bounce, is her brother. Can you believe that! And she, in the first batch gave birth to 5 babies and the second batch 6 babies. And that is probably all I can tell you about my bunny Staone.
Keawe Alapai 2005-11-29hey i just got a dwarf rabbit. i think it is so kewl to have one because it is so small and it is so cute..It has a gray stripe right down its back and a cute nose..I would really like to learn more about the dwarf rabbit. your fan: GRLGURLIE1
rose 2005-11-28I have had several of the little netherland dwarf rabbits and love them very much. I breed, raise, and show this breed. I think they are very good pets for all ages. they are lovable and friendly and I think they are a good first pet for children five and up. they make less mess because they are smaller and don't require much space. you could take them on road trips with you. just make sure you research before you buy. It helps a lot, and will make your rabbit live a longer happier life!
Ami 2005-11-24I have a Netherland Dwarf named Katie and she is great! I let her run around my backyard everyday for about an hour and then she comes and falls asleep on my lap. It is so cute. I brush her and groom her also every couple days. One time when tried to cut her nails for her monthly nail cutting, she jumped and hit the ground! I was so mad at myself so i pick Katie up and hugged. Pretty soon I figured out she was okay. Cleaning her cage is not so enjoyable. I have to clean the dirty part every other day. I clean the whole cage once a week. Ok thats all about my baby love, Katie!
Anonymous 2005-11-20I used to have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit but it dies about a month ago. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. At first, she was a little mean but then we began to bond and we began to become like the best of friends. If any of you rabbit owner out there want a new and nice rabbit, go and find a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. They are the best.
R.I.P. Aundre Morales Awesome Rabbit Sister and most of all Friend
Shenice Morales 2005-11-07My rabbit is so cute it hops around on its little legs. i think netherland dwarf rabbits are one of the cutest and easiest rabbits to look after. my rabbit is called twitch because it always twitches
brooke ebsworth 2005-11-06This breed of rabbit is absolutely wonderful! I have one and I love her to death. They are well trained, nice and small, and are fabulous pets for people of all ages. I have nothing bad to say about my wonderful bunny, and I hope that if you or someone you know is thinking of taking in one of these little bundles of joy, she enjoys him or her! My netherland dwarf is siamese sabble colored and I absolutely love her!
Anonymous 2005-11-03I am very pleased about the information and the pictures available to us at our finger tips! I have had my Netherland Dwarf for almost 4 years now. His name is Duke, it was the street that I used to live on in my home town. He was an engagement gift to me. My dad used to be a netherland dwarf breeder when I was young, and I never thought I would own one again, until he was there in my lap! Thank you again for the wonderful website!
Kristy Easton 2005-10-25Great site! Such cute pictures! I'm doing a project on netherland dwarf rabbits, it was very helpful going to this site. i even saved the site on my hard drive so i can go back and read the page sometimes! Once again,i love the pictures. thanks!
Disco Minnie 2005-10-24Netherland Dwarfs are the best rabbits in the world! Trust me on this, you can't go wrong! Whether as a pet, or showing, they are the best. My Netherland Dwarf, Marshmallow, is very content. When you try to pick him up, he doesn't kick, scratch, bite, or run away. Whereas my other rabbit is very territorial, he escapes and dashes everywhere. With Marshmallow, I can leave his cage door open and he won't leave. Try that with your other breeds of rabbits! Even when I practice his showing routine (which is a bit tedious) he never gets mad.
michelle 2005-10-15I raise Netherland Dwarfs for show and pets. They are the most loving little rabbits anyone could ever own. Some dwarfs can get attitudes with you if you do not give them what they want. This shows their personality. My favorite quote is "Great things come in small packages." It fits the discription of the Netherland Dwarf. They are great rabbits, although they are so tiny. I would recommend raising dwarfs to anyone who would like to take on the challenge. Like I always say, "With rabbits, especially Dwarfs, you can never own just one."
Samantha Sharp 2005-10-13I think my Netherland Dwarfs are the most adorable and good mannered rabbits i've ever had. I started out with just one rabbit my best friend gave me to show for 4H. I named her Kirstie. Then about 5 months later I got her parents! I named the mother Buffy because shes curious and likes to explore. The father is named chatterbox because when you hold him he talks to you like a little chipmunk. They are all adorable and a beautiful shade of black. I now know why people think so highly of rabbits, How could you not? they are too cute!
Kaitlin 2005-10-13I think that Netherland Dwarf bunnies are the cutest thing I have ever seen!! I am planning to start 4-H with bunnies and I am going to start with a Netherland Dwarf and a Lionhead dwarf lop. I am planning to have a lot of fun, and I hope I win lots and lots of prizes.... so wish me good luck!
Jessika 2005-10-12i have a 3 year old netherland dwarf named thumper and shes gorgeous these are the best breed of rabbit for everyone as there friendly and sociable, ther tiny too!
gems 2005-10-11My Dwarf is sooo cute. his name is lucky and he was born on St. Patricks Day. Hence the name: Lucky
Kaki 2005-10-09My family and I have had a dwarf bunny now for two and a half years. He is the most adorable pet you can have. He loves papaya so, if he finds the papaya package on the gound, he will try to rip it open(he once did and ate all of it!) I find it very easy to care for him because he is loving and so caring. Once i took him outside and he did not run away. Now and then he likes a spot of fresh air, so he take him for a walk around our front yard with no leash or harness. He is sucessfully housebroken as well. I love my bunny so much, I do not know what I will do when he passes on.
THUMPER 2005-10-04I Had a Netherland Drawf Bunny named Joey. Because when he was a baby I would put him in my shirt and flip the bottom up. He looked like a little baby kanagroo just hanging out. Hence: Joey. Joey was a great bunny and I could even hold him like a baby! But when I got a female and bred Joey with her he became very very aggresive and even jumped out of his cage at me! no one could ever figure out what was wrong with him!
Mickey Culligan 2005-09-30I just got a black himalayan colored netherland dwarf. I got her at an auction. We rescue rabbits at auctions. We named her daisy. She is our most friendly rabbit! She loves being petted, and loves to be held. We may breed her in the spring. She is absolutly sweet and verrrry cute! This is a great breed, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a baby to spoil!!
Danielle 2005-09-30our netherland dwarf rabbit, Benjamin is now nearly ten years old but still looks like a baby. he has always been a house rabbit and loves anywhere warm whether it be a patch of sun through the window in summer or under the radiator in winter. he loves chocolate and cream crackers and paws at your legs if he knows you have some and aren't sharing it with him. he now lives with two greyhounds, meg and milo, but they are very good with him. although he tries his best to torment them sometimes, as he knows they aren't allowed to chase him! recently he was a bit poorly with a possible heart condition but he is well now and back to his normal cheeky self!

kirsty ward 2005-09-17I have Two Netherland Dwarts. They are the best rabbits ever. I show and breed other rabbits. We have just stated with this breed and we love them very much. They make great pets.
alexa 2005-09-17I have a Neverland Dwarf rabbit who is black otter coloured. Her name is PIP and even though she is only a few months old, she has already won a cutest rabbit competition and her dad was a show bunny. They are gorgeus pets and really get along with humans- they are very cheeky!!
Ashleigh 2005-09-16Hi my name is Jacqui and my best friend Nicole has two baby netherland dwarf bunnies, and they are soooooooo cute! (The black one we think is a boy) always hops around, and you can hold him like a baby. The other one she has is a pure white red ruby eyed bunny who likes u constantly! They are both very small and are sweet and are worth getting! Nicole takes care of them just like they were her children. Nicole's dog mikey always licks them and follows them anywhere they go. Nicole's Rabbits have convinced me of getting a dwarf rabbit like hers. If u are looking to get a rabbit then always take care of them and don't let the other animals get a hold on your bunny. -Jacqui
Jacqui 2005-09-08I have two adorable netherland dwarf rabbits they are sooooo cute and easy to look after and I love their pointy ears
madeleine 2005-09-06We just got Cheaster our first dwarf from a high school for free. He is just 6weeks old and full of love. We also have year old "farm" rabbit named Bunny. Bunny and Cheaster are very different. Cheaster likes to lick and be held and Bunny likes to bite and stay in her hut. I would stick to dwarf bunnies in the future and recommend them to anyone interested in rabbits. Now, Bunny was litter trained at an early age no problem. I am having trouble litter training Cheaster and getting him to drink from the rabbit bottle. He likes to drink from a dish and get all wet. He then hops in the litter box and get caked in litter. We have to give him a bath to get rid of the mess on his feet. Wish i didn't have to bathe him every morning but he doesn't seem to mind. We are hoping with age he will get a little smarter.
Jennifer 2005-09-05We have a Dwarf rabbit, her name is "Hoppy" short for "MS Hops a Lot".
She is great with the kids. Every once in awhile she will attempt to bite. We do the bad bunny things and put her head down to show that we are the dominate ones. It's so funny because she will pout. She loves to ride in the car, to get brushed, and to play in boxes that have paper in them. She loves her "rabbit tunnel" and her house. She does tricks that make us laugh. she gives rabbit kisses and will come to us and give us rabbit kisses. She is a welcome edition to our home. She is even litter box trained with no problem at all. Great pet for the house. I have a daughter who is allergic to everything, but seems not to have a problem with the rabbit. Of course she's not allowed to put it near her face either.
Penny 2005-09-05Hi I have one and I love it and it loves me they are the cutest little thing I have ever seen. Any on who wants one get this breed. It knows it's name and every thing. Her name is Hunny Bunny.
Lauren 2005-08-24I currently own my very first Neverland Dwarf..... Scarlet is so affectionate compared to any other small pet ive had.... she loves to run around in her run, be held, and groomed but i dont know what colour to class her as..... im also not sure if her colour will slightly change as she is only 10 weeks old
Chelsea 2005-08-19I love my Netherland Dwarf! She is so sweet and is always looking to be cuddled! I have a few pets and I would say she is the sweetest!
Lindsay 2005-08-14i own two netherland dwarfs and think they are both incredible! ^_^ One, who's name is Hawk is bursting with personality! She was not highly loved in her previous home. when i got her she was always in a bad mood. she would bite, scratch and all sorts of stuff. but then i loved her and cared for her and finally she stopped biting so much. she's quit a snuggler! :) my other one Bell is an albino netherland dwarf. she can never sit still and loves hop'in around. she's a love bunny for she licks you all the time! :3 she's too adorible and friendly. their awesome rabbits to own. just remember to give them lots of care!
funkychibi 2005-08-14I have a dwarf bunny as a pet for over two years now! His name is Thumper and he is the most adorable pet you can ever have. He is so kind and gentle, so it makes a great pet for kids. He comes when called and he is housebroken. Dwarf bunnies are the best pet you could possibly have!
Natasha 2005-08-11we had a beautiful full male netherland blue dwarf. he died recently at age 12 years. he used to be very intelligent, come when we called, and he still looked like a baby bunny. he used to love to chase the dog & cats, especially the male one. his passing has left a big gap in our lives and always will. x
Anonymous 2005-08-10I bought a 'couple', boy and girl netherland rabbits (brown in colour) for my two daughters on a Saturday and on the Monday we had two new arrivals! both beautiful. They turned out to be two white fluffy brothers with red eyes! truly adorable bunnies which have now grown up (they are nearly 3 years). both have their own distinct personalities. 'Batman and Robin' did unfortunately start to fight at one time, so they were both spayed - however they are both really happy, 'protecting their own little part of London Town'. Much loved and Wonderful pets.
Amy and Chloe's mum.
Amy and Chloe's Mum 2005-08-05I Have a netherland Dwarf rabbit. she is a doe, and i have named her meeka she is a very awesome pet i am glad that i have choosen this breed. i am planing to take her to the okanagon county fair for my FFA project this fall. I hope if you are looking at getting a netherland then i will encourage you to get one.
Katie Foster 2005-07-27 I have a netherland dwarf rabbit and i know i probably don't have to tell you but they are the cutest things i have ever seen. I just got mine a few days ago, and we have already "bonded" if thats what you call it. My rabbit's name is Smokey and he not only comes to you when you call him, but he practically jumps in your hand. He is so friendly that it's hard not to spend every second with him. Not only that but he's talented. He can answer questions, not by talking but by shaking his head yes and no. But he doesn't just do it randomly, the questions that he gets asked are the ones he knows and gets right! My limit is almost up so i just want to say that i think Netherland Dwarf Rabbits are the coolest rabbits ever!
Melanie Rutan 2005-07-27I just bought one of the wonderful lil bunnies today! he is pretty shy, and with 2 cats around i have to keep a very close eye on him.....
Anonymous 2005-07-24 I have an adorable rabbit, Pippin. I guess a lot of people name their rabbits Pippin. He's a senior and VERY shy. He's very cute. I'd suggest Netherland Dwarfs to any body looking for a rabbit so cute that they would kill themselves to spend 1 minute with it.
`Andrea 2005-07-21I just got my netherland dwarf yesterday, and i say its the best pet in the world. she was the runt of the bunch but now shes doing great! Her name is Lexus and she is 6 monthes old with grey fur. this is the first rabbit i have ever had and i hope it wont be last.
spolie_olie 2005-07-21I have an adorable Netherland Dwarf Bunny named Bun-bun- what else?! she is white with black spots around her eyes, hips, tails, cheeks, and back. I love her alot!
JessicPaulding 2005-07-18they also come in white with black ears and noses.
Anonymous 2005-07-14We have a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit that is a year and a half old, named Cinnabun. He has the most adorable personality and loves attention and companionship. He loves to run fast around the house, and he loves running up and down the stairs. When we lay on the floor with him, he climbs all over us and jumps over our legs over and over again. He is the sweetest thing, "binkying" and licking us. I highly recommend the Netherland Dwarf, they have such interesting personalities, and such a loving nature.
Gloria 2005-07-14 I just got my first rabbit in late Febuary 2005, a netherland dwarf. He is kind of friendly and very cute.( more friendly than when we got him ) I decided to look stuff up on the internet to see if their naturaly like that.
From what I see they just a little bit of attenton and alot of
love. If I was to suggest which rabbit to get as your fist I'd say NETHERLAND DWARF! (or possibly, maybe...a holland lop) BUT NETHERLAND DWARFS ARE WAY CUTER!
Me ( a girl whOs NAme StArtS WIth An A) 2005-07-14 I have a netherland dwarf named Pippin. I've had him for a while now. He's a senior. He's really cute and shy. The second week after he had adjusted to his home he was SUPER shy but was getting more friendly. I think netherland dwarfs are little and easy to care for, and get more friendly after a little love, and love and more love....
Andrea 2005-07-12I have a neatherland Dwarf Rabbit. her name is velvet and she is very friendly. she likes to jump around in her play area that we made and we let her run on the bed and the floor. She has a harness that I put on her and she is very lively and cute. they are very good pets if trained. Jody Adler Washington Iowa
Jody Adler 2005-07-11Our bunny Patches and our dog Benjy get along very well when they are outside. They are both very social. I think Patches is very cute.
Allie Haltof 2005-07-06We had a Netherland Dwarf bunny named Pilot. We bought him as a tiny baby from a swapmeet of all places. He was the most wonderful little guy. His character was perfect, and was the definition of the word cute. If anything startled him, he would sit up on my shoulder. He used to give bunny kisses to cheer you up. He would often try jumping right into your arms. Just looking at him would make you smile, I miss him so badly. He passed away on June 30th, 2005 from a GI problem that he had all his little life. We tried EVERYTHING for him. I loved that little bunny like he was my baby :-( Please god, take care of Pilot till I can see him again.
mark 2005-07-02My bunnies name is Bobby and he is very cuddely. He is not a very active bunny but I still love him very much... And I always will.
Devynn 2005-06-24Denny-my dwarf bunny-unfortunately passed away on Sunday-Father's Day. I got him for my 17th bday and he literally meant the world to me. Many people say, "its just a bunny." But, to me, Denny was much more than that. He was my companion and buddy, we'd go running around my house, he'd lick my arms whenever I patted him the way he liked. He'd rub his little nose against my face if/when I was sad, like he actually knew something wasn't right. Each Christmas, he'd be with the rest of my family, tearing up the wrapping paper. He'd run up and down the stairs. Mind you...he did do a good number on the furniture and the phone cords, but, was he ever cute!! Denny was 2 months shy of turning 9. Hands down-he was the best little guy in the world. I'm currently 26yrs old, and I'm getting teary eyed...I miss him more than people will ever know. Love you lots Denny-TCCIC...
Claudine 2005-06-24my rabbit is called smudge and he is absolutely gorgeous. he never bites, he just licks me constantly because he luvs me to bits, lol. he always nudges my foot when it is above him, in the air. he luvs to run in and out of my table and chairs legs, running round the room as fast as he can. its a wonder he doesnt bang into any of the legs of the chairs. but i luv im to bits and these kind of rabbits are the sort of rabbits u just have to get. they are absolutely great fun and very very lovable!
cassie 2005-06-20These rabbits are so cute and they are calm.
Zach 2005-06-09my bunnies names are jack and yumi and they are so cute
Sami 2005-06-08Netherland dwarf bunnies are the best! They are the most cooperative, sweet, cleanest bunnies i've ever had. They are pretty easy to take care of, and an easy size to handle. These bunnies are so curious but smart.I actually find them to be a little smarter than a cat. I would defenitly tell people looking for a new pet to get Netherland dwarf bunny.
Amy 2005-06-03We have been breeding ARBA registered Netherland Dwarfs for a year and a half. We show at ARBA shows and breed quality rabbits. But, I know for a fact that Netherland Dwarfs colors castor, californian, red, or seal are from bad breeding choices. You can not show these colors at ARBA shows because they are not recognized. These are the 24 recognized ARBA Netherland Dwarf Colors. Black, Blue, chocolate, Lilac, Ruby-eyed white, Blue-eyed white, sable point, siamese sable, siamese smoke pearl, tortoise shell, chestnut, chinchilla, lynx, opal, squirrel, otter, sable marten, silver marten, smoke pearl marten, tan, fawn, himalayan(not californian!!)orange, and steel
Krismo's Rabbitry 2005-05-31hi my rabbit is cute. she is called snuggles she does amazing tricks and isnt scared of my cats, my cats are scared of her
emma 2005-05-31I have a netherland dwarf and believe me on this, they are great! My rabbit was in the past abused. When i got her my neighbor who got my rabbits sister, said" Toastie (my rabbit) is known to bite, scratch, and growl. From what i see she just needs love like humans do. Treat animals with care especially rabbits. I suggest if you want a pet to get a netherland, they are the best friends and pets you will have. dont hold back research then go get one. They are great for being pets in show and mostly an everlasting friend even when they are gone. They are great with other pets even my dog gives Toastie kisses on the nose. They are also great with all ages even parents.
they are really fun. me and my sisters love them! they are cute and cuddly. we got ours from the paper. we got a girl and boy they came together. there names are salt and pepper.
Jamie 2005-05-26My netherland dwarf is the sweetest little animal you can imagine!! I love having her and I play with her all the time and if you are looking to adopt a rabbit, this is the perfect kind. I live in an apartment and they are great living there, or when I go on vacation she's great living there too. My rabbit is litterbox trained and her 'play pen' is the easiest thing to clean. Netherland dwarf rabbits are the best!
Anonymous 2005-05-24We have recently bought a Netherland Dwarf, she's very clever. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. Ruby is now 8 weeks old, she is fully house trained and responds to behaviour modification with the use of treats. Ruby comes when we shake her rattle and call her. she loves the children and they adore her. The only forseeable problem is that she may take to chewing cables when she grows older. Ruby is easy to manage and gives us as much pleasure as a cat or dog. We don't allow her outside because local foxes worrying her. we have purchased a wood chipped litter tray which prevents ant smells. Georgina and Evie 22/5/05
Georgina Fawthrop 2005-05-22I have a Netherlabd Dwarf rabbit! If your starting out like I was then this a great breed to go with! I absolutely LOVE my bunny rabbit and am so thankful for him. But a word of advice: don't get them before the age of 6 weeks even if that means one more day because believe me that day counts, but that goes for any type of rabbit really. Because one of my rabbits died because I found out she was really only 5 weeks old!
Kassie 2005-05-20My rabbit shadow is really cute. He's a male. I'm going to breed him to a lucky lady! :) He's a bundle of joy! I LOVE NETHERLANDS
Skara 2005-05-15My oldest daughter who is 10 years old got a dwarf bunnie when the bunnie was 9 weeks old. My daughter has since joined 4H and her bunny, Ellie, is a perfect show bunny. Ellie is an Opal. These bunnies are the perfect size for children.
Emily Spencer 2005-05-14We had a beautiful Netherland Dwarf Bunny who came into our lives on Christmas eve 1997 (literally) someone abandoned her and a neighbor knocked on our door. We named her Angel and she was one. Sadly our precious Angel passed away on April 28, 2005. She was a true princess, the best pet ever, she was litter box trained and when we were home had the run of the house (when we were away she was confined to two rooms). Angel brought us much joy with her antics (she would sit under the bird cage hoping to catch some seeds and jump up on to you lap to watch TV with you). Although we were blessed to have had her for 8 years my husband and I miss her very much and are in the process on adopting 2 more Netherland dwarf rabbits to love.
MJ Williamson 2005-05-13i have a netherland dwarf (aged 9) and she was very very unfriendly. in the last 2 months or so she has become friendly! just to give anyone who has one like mine some hope
Anonymous 2005-05-09i have a dwarf bunny, it is a boy, i had him for 10 YEARS.He is 2 pounds. His fur is black.

koy 2005-04-26WE JUST RECENTLY THIS WEEK BOUGHT OUR FIRST NETHERLAND DWARF BUNNY. WE ALWAYS ENJOYED GOING TO THE LOCAL PET STORE AND CHECKING OUT ALL THE CUTE FURRIES. WE HAVE REALLY BEEN TALKING ABOUT A BABY OR CHILDREN BUT AT THE MOMENT WE ARENT WHERE WE NEED TO BE FOR THAT SO TO CURB OUR URGES WE WERE THINKING ABOUT ADOPTING A PET MOSTLY THINKING FERRETS, IVE ALWAYS LIKED BUNNYS BUT NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ADOPTING ONE. ONE DAY WE WERE MAKING OUR USUAL VISIT TO THE PET STORE AND THATS THE DAY I MET "EMILY" I ASKED TO HOLD HER SHE WAS SO CUTE IN HER CAGE. SHE IS SOLID WHITE WITH PAINTBRUSH GREY TIPPED EARS. I CUDDLED HER FOR OVER AN HOUR AND WAS IN LOVE. SHE IS NOW OUR DAUGHTER AND WE LOVE HER SO MUCH, SHE IS SO ADORABLE, AND CALM, VERY LOVING AND LOVES TO GIVE ME KISSES BY LICKING ME.WE BOUGHT A "PURSE CARRIER" AND SHE ENJOYS GOING DOWNTOWN WITH US AND EATING WITH US. I JUST HAD TO ADD MY STORY AS IM REALLY EXCITIED ABOUT OUR NEW ADDITION.
JOYCE&MARIO 2005-04-20i have a Netherland Dwarf and it is a fantastic pet.
Matilda 2005-04-14my rabbit is really sweet, even though she thumps a lot. she is called beauty and she is black with a white nose and her 2 front legs are white too! she is very funny, she runs fast!
Danielle 2005-04-06I just recently received my netherland from my husband as an easter gift. she is great. she is incredibly loving. a real laugh. we put a pillowcase in her bed as a cushion and she pulls it out and flips it around and plays under. it its very funny to watch.
its great to have an animal that will be around for my son and I to learn about together.
christine 2005-04-06I have a 10 month old Broken Netherland Dwarf. Hes a big ball of fun, and very curious and hyper. Id recommend this breed for anyone starting out. Netherlands are very easy to groom, i groom mine about once every 2 weeks and clip his nails once a month. Hes not one to be held but he does love nose scratches and rubs. Netherlands are very cute bunnies and are now one of the most popular breeds of rabbits. Especially around easter, they have that "easter bunny look".
Brittany D 2005-04-02We just bought our little netherland dwarf 4 hours ago. He is just 7 weeks old. I have 2 young children and we are ALL already in love with him! It will be torture for us to not pick him up and hug him for the next couple of days while he gets acclimated!
Jennifer 2005-03-28I recently got a little netherland dwarf, she is beautiful, grey with a black mouth and tiny white diamond on her nose. She loves attention and affection and even plays with my dog!! I think anyone looking for a pet should defently consider these.
Kim 2005-03-26I have a black dwarf rabbit named Charlie. We got her...get this...13 years ago! I understand that the life expectancy of a dwarf rabbit is 8-10 years. She is truly a remarkable rabbit. We have had many wonderful years with her, and treasure the days we have left with her.
Amy 2005-03-24I very recently bought a Netherland Dwarf Bunny. I moved into an apartment and wanted some life there when I got home from work everyday. Well let me tell you, he has just been wonderful. My mother who doesnt even like animals fell in love with him and told me anytime I go away I can leave him with her. Now that is magic! I am so happy with my choice and look forward to years of joy and fun with this little guy.
J from New York 2005-03-22We have a netherland dwarf, she is so adorable. she was my first rabbit and we love her so much. I talk to her every day and she runs for me when she sees me. I have two cats and she loves to play with them. We bought a wooden house for her and she jumps on top of the house, she loves it. She is full of energy, all black, and underneath her paws are gray color. We have learned how intelligent they are from our rabbit. These are great animals to have as a pet.
Chantal 2005-03-22i think the netherland dwarfs are so cute. i am getting one in May and i cant wait! i just love the way they are so tiny and adorable!
bunnys rock no1!! 2005-03-13i have a netherland dwarf and she is so adorable. everyday i come home from school and take her out of her cage. we watch tv together, im sure she knows all my favortie shows! i am hoping to breed her with my chocolate buck, but fear complications, and color situations. she pulls out her fur every spring, it is so tempting! she is a beautiful little girl, even my dad adores her.
Lindsey Kibler 2005-03-07I have had a Netherland Dwarf for almost two years. In my opinion, they are the best type of show rabbit. I have won 3 Best of Show awards at shows all across Wyoming. Netherlands are especially good for beginners who are just starting out. They are also the easiest to take care of. I now have four Netherlands (Curtis, Kupa, Hershey, and Spot) and I would never sell or trade them for another breed. I think they are the coolest little fuzzballs in the world.
Karen 2005-02-22my sister and i just got a netherland and he is just great! he really loves be held. we absolutely adore him. i strongly recommend a netherland dwarf to anyone young or old!
-lauren
Anonymous 2005-02-17you site is the awesome. it has such cute animals like the rabbits and guinea pigs. they are so adorable i wish i could get one. I really like the netherland dwarf
BRITTANY 2005-02-16 I have two rabbits. One of which is a Netherland Dwarf named Patrisha. I too think that they are kind natured and that they just need a humans love and care. They are very energetic. Yet when I hold her she nuzzles and licks my hands.
Chelsea H. 2005-02-14 the best kind of rabbit is a netherland dwarf because they are not hyper. they will lay with you when you are watching tv. I have a netherland dwarf. it lives in my house. it does everything with me.
Charlie roth 2005-02-06Netherland dwarfs are the best animals you could ever have! They can be sweet and funny. We have 1 and she is the best rabbit we have ever had.
AMO2 2005-02-04i love my netherland dwarf bunnnies!! they are soo cute and a great pet for small children!!
nicole 2005-01-27I have owned 3 netherlands and can confirm that they are the sweetest. Some people are afraid that they are a little nervous, but I think it has to do with the household they are raised in. I am a very unorthodox mommy and the 2 guys I have now behave just like my babies. We are so attached, my little Pearl goes to the door to see me off to work. Yes, my little guys are "free range" bunnies. I have well bunny proofed my house and they are free to roam all day. My little guys love to play kissy face and are always gooming my hairline and eyebrows. I can even sometimes ask for a kiss and Pearl will stand up and plant one on my lips. It is all about the love and security they feel in their home.
Gloria 2005-01-26I as a charter breeder of netherland dwarfs would like to inform you that the picture that you have listed as a netherland dwarf is either a cull rabbit (unshowable), or not a netherland dwarf. Dwarfs ears are very very short, they have compact bodies, a round head and a flat nose.
steph 2005-01-23These rabbits are great pets, and they are usually very nice.
Brandon Jelsema 2005-01-14They are the greatest tiny creatures created by god! They are so cute, friendly, and loving! As long as you are extremely nice to them, spoil them (but not to an unhealthy point), and love them unconditionally, they will always love you back and keep you as their best friend! I make sure I play with my rabbit at least three hours a day and we spend so much time together (I read my books out loud so she can listen, and i do my homework downstairs so i can be with her then too) that i know that we will have a life long friendship! My Netherland Dwarf - Estherr - even licks me like a dog would to show affection!
Stella 2004-12-29I am a preschool teacher and we have a dwarf rabbit. His name is oliver and he is very sweet, the kids just love him. We let him play in the classroom, he is just another one other the kids with his own presonality. We love him very much, I would say a dwarf rabbit is a great pet for kids.
Diana Theiss 2004-12-27We just got our bunny about 3 weeks ago. She is a silver marten and the most loving little girl you ever want to meet. She loves to kiss us on the chin. Her name is Kady and we have two guinea pigs that she likes to box. I am so glad that my little girl wanted to get her. I have had big rabbits in the past but this little girl is so special.

Carrie 2004-11-29I had a rabbit and it was sweet but then started biting and growling but they are very sweet still. BY.Laura Dean FROM.Goergetown s.c.
Laura 2004-11-21i got my pet rabbit at the age of 2. The moment i saw his little white nose and whiskers i fell in love. I am twelve now and trix my rabbit passed away yesterday at 4:44. I cried my eyes out. SO if you are looking for a great pet get a RABBIT. P.S...... never leave your rabbit in a cold damp place.

Amanda 2004-11-05I have a black and white dwarf rabbit. His name is Thumper and he is now only 10-12 months old. He has a good and high quality temperment! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!*
MacKenzie Scully 2004-11-04my rabbit is a netherland dwarf i cant let it out it runs away it ran or walked 5 km once
zoey 2004-10-30I received Chomper as a gift a little less than a year ago and I fell in love right away. He is loveable and energetic and extremely curious. His favorite activity is exploring my room. Whenever I am sad, he seems to know and gives me lots of "kisses" and even seems to try to make me laugh by doing his flips in the air. He is one of my best friends and the reason I got an addition to our little family (Ninja) a month ago.
erica 2004-10-18I have a netherland named thumper, and he is grey, 1 and a half pounds and only about 2 and a half months old. When we first got thumper he was scared and wouldnt do anything but explore and wonder around. me and my boyfriend played with thumper alot, but it get meaner and meaner. it bites, scratches, and it attaches my 2 month old minilop and hurt it pretty bad. we dont abuse thumper, we take him out of the cage, cuddle with him, playes with him but he always bites us and bullies my other rabbit, and my sisters minilop. i love thumper just as much as my lop rabbit, but he is mean and i care for him like my other rabbit.
Katie 2004-10-08I have a netherland dwarf and believe me on this, they are great! My rabbit was in the past abused. When i got her my neighbor who got my rabbits sister, said" Toastie (my rabbit) is known to bite, scratch, and growl. From what i see she just needs love like humans do. Treat animals with care especially rabbits. I suggest if you want a pet to get a netherland, they are the best friends and pets you will have, dont hold back research then go get one. They are great for being pets in show and mostly an everlasting friend even when they are gone. They are great with other pets even my dog gives Toastie kisses on the nose. They are also great with all ages even parents.
Brooklyn Bianchi 2004-09-28I just got my little guy "Cashmere" yesterday, he is pretty funny to watch. he is really small but loves to be touched. He loves the new toys that I got him. He is already a part of the family.
Heather 2004-09-24I have resently, just about 2 hours ago got my firt Netherland Dwarf. Before this time the only compact rabbits I have had were polish. Already I love this lil bundle of energy. It is a major change from my larger rabbits like flemish giants and rex. I hope to get a strong bloodline going. I do recommend the Netherland Dwarf :)
Missy 2004-09-22i have a dwarf bunny named molly
Lilly 2004-09-19We just got our first pet yesterday! His name is Jasper and we love him to pieces already!!
Anonymous 2004-09-10Jasper is 6 weeks old and adorable! He is learning to walk on hardwood floors as I write this! Just like a skating rink. We love our new "baby"!!
Jotham and Lindsay 2004-09-10i have a dwarf bunny and she is so fun and friendly. she is not a handful and i would recommend this type of pet to anyone.
Lauren 2004-08-22I just got my first dwarf rabbit today, and I named her short stuff. I only got her for 12$! so far, I think I like the breed.
Jennifer 2004-08-21I have 2 dwarf rabbits, both female. I got them from my uncle after he divorced...one is fiesty and does not like to be held and the other is a little sweetheart and will walk right up to you. They live in the backyard and are just as bad as dogs in digging holes everywhere! Both of them always come running to me when I shake their treat box.
Laura O. 2004-08-09WAYNE is the cutest baby boy who recently turned 2. About 2 days ago we also got Layla, a 2 month old chinchilla bunny. i get the occasional bite, but i love them.
none 2004-08-09I love Netherland Dwarf Bunnies-there are so small and cute to look at-but those red eyed ones are freaky looking!Otherwise, I cant wait to get one and snuggle up.
michelle 2004-08-08I have a Netherland Dwarf named Kode. He is such a funny little guy, he only weighs 1.7 lbs, but he acts like the biggest creature in the world! He runs around the house wild every night when I come home from work. He makes me laugh, and he is a great pet.
Patricia 2004-07-14Even though this is a small breed, they need just as much space as the larger bunnies. They are just bursting with energy, and love to tear around the room doing the Bunny-500. My friend just adopted a pair, and they are just the cutest things. They are not really good for small children as they are not as sturdy (they can be easily hurt) or mellow as some of the larger breeds may be. Check out www.rabbit.org for more info on everything rabbit!
Emily 2004-07-08I think netherland dwarf rabbits are so CUTE!!!!!
Vanessa Cuevas 2004-07-04this pet is the best pet ever it is so sweet and loves to cuddle and is very small and i like it like that.
Katie 2004-06-11I do not have a netherland dwarf but my rabbits are related. I breed and raise dwarf Hotots. They are so friendly and loveable. They love your attention and they also love a massage occationally.(: These little charmers will steal your heart, but they have so much energy and cannot stay in a cage all day. Although this can sometimes be a problem, their friendly and loving attitude makes up for it.
A loving owner
kylie 2004-06-07Just this year (2004) on May 21 I got my ssssuuuuppppeeeeeeeerrrr aaaaaddddoooooooorrrraaaaaabbbbblllle Netherland Dwarf Bunny. kitty 2004-05-15Dwarf rabbits are awesome
gtdyuh 2004-05-06I have a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit for about a week now and I think that they are better a better pet then a dog! They are so lovable and cute! They will just sit in your lap and go to sleep! I love my Netherland Rabbit!
Bethany 2004-04-10I have had Netherland Dwarfs for about 7 years now. My first rabbit that I fell in love with was Casey who I still have. I have recently paid $200 for my 4 GC Buck. I fell in love with this breed and i dont ever plan on changing. My rabbits are very lovable and have a good temperment. The Netherland is a good breed for younger children, because they have a good temperment. I was 8 when i got my first Netherland and I am now all most 16.
Megan 2004-03-31i got a netherland dutch a few days ago and she is sweet but she seems to always want her way... but i of course do what she wants... meaning let her out constantly... loveable critter.. i love Flamingo [thats her name]and recommend this breed
Anonymous 2004-03-17 A few months ago I got a chinchilla colored netherland dwarf! She is so curious and playfull, I decided to name her Pippin. After the hobbit Pippin on The Lord of the Rings. My dad thinks she has some Cottontail in her because she has a white fuzzy tail and long fur. Her older sister is a dutch rabbit. Her name is Libby. I love my bunnies!
Julia May 2004-02-23i just got a Netherland Dwarf and they are sooo cute!!
nicole 2004-02-21I recently got a Netherland Dwarf bunny from the big local pet store. I had no intention of buying another rabbit because my big guy, Basil, just died this summer after I had him for six years. But when she put the chinchilla colored one in my arms and she just laid there and closed her eyes I had to have her! I have only had her for a week but I already am in love with Matilda. She loves to be held and pet but she also has endless energy to run around with my little dog, Zoe. At first she would get scared and her natural reaction was to scratch when I would lift her. But it only took my a minute to realize I had to "scoop her up", supporting her back legs, and she was fine. Matilda is the best and I think Netherland dwarfs are great for someone who has the time and patience!
TinySweetHeart 2004-01-29I just got my second bunny i love him so much his name is ringo and hes the sweetest lil guy ever..he thinks my cat is his mom and he loves to cuddle and run on the sofa. he used to give kisses but not so much anymore. he loves people and every morning when i eat my breakfast he eats his. its soo cute all my friends just love him especially the guys. it shows how caring they really are they always watching to make sure he dont jump or fall.
Megan 2004-01-18I used to have one lil guy and his name was andre. andre recently died of snuffles. i love all of my rabbits but andre was by far my favorite. he was very special to me. he was an albino with black ears, gray feet, nose, and tail. he was my baby. he was so special because he was my first rabbit my families 2nd and he was part blind. he would always run into things if i moved them around. i will never forget andres kisses. he will be my baby forever. www.geocities.com/chassihawk_23
chassi 2003-12-06Our Netherland Dwarf, Mickey, has been with us since he was 6 weeks old. Now, at 2 years old, he is the sutest, sweetest thing on earth! He is extremely lovable and loves people. Giving "kisses" and playing on the sofa are his favourite activities. I highly reccomend this breed to any young couple who want a "baby" to pamper!
Aaron & Danielle 2003-12-05I just bought my Netherland Dwarf Rabbbit at the end of May 2003, his name is caramel, which reflects his color. he is SO lovable and cuddly.
Roxy 2003-12-03Hi, I have one and he is now 3 years old. He is so soft and loveable even all my other animals love him. He loves to be but on the sofa and run up and down it. He is just so friendly.
michelle 2003-12-01I have just brought home the most loving dwarf his name is Herbie, make sure you watch these little creatures very carefully, i left him alone for 45 min. and he burrowed a hole in my carpet! (its an apartmant OOPS) but have fun with them they are very friendly.
crystal 2003-11-14I have recently bought one of these fantastic rabbits. So far it seems very gentle, but also very afraid. I would advice constant supervision if letting them run around the house or backyard as they are very fast and agile. I recomend this rabbit to anyone that loves animals and is prepared to spoil their rabbit with love and affection.
