I currently have a havana. Though we can't tell the gender, we are sure she is female. I absolutely love her, but about five days ago something made her scream in the middle of the night. We suspect a spider. She is now paralyzed in her back side. Even though I don't know how much longer she'll live, I love her every day.

Hi. I am a young rabbit owner and I have a Havana rabbit. She is about a year and I love her. I have never been bitten. Her name is RoseBud. She is a very dark black. She is so relaxed and very lovable. I recommend it to any beginning owner.:]

I have 2 havanas one black and one like a dark chocolate color, they are the sweetest things ever! Everyday my mom gives them treats and now they know, so when we go downstairs they come up to the door trying to nudge it open and if we walk upstairs without giving them something they will thump their feet showing us they're angry. My bunnies love the toys that make noise, their favorite is a big ball with a bell in the middle. They pick it up and toss it down or to me if I'm with them. I have had them for over a year and I have only been bitten once because one of them got scared while I was holding him. One decision I will NEVER regret is getting my little fluff balls! :P

Alice is a sweet black havanna with beautiful soft fur. She's so much more laid back than the florida white I had in the past. Our personalities really match. She loves to play and is really affectionate.

I have a chocolate Havana and absolutely adore him! He's now a year and a half old and I couldn't be happier! He is incredibly intelligent (I had to move his food because he learned to open the cabinet) and ALWAYS ready to play! If it makes noise he LOVES throwing it to me so that I can roll it back. The only drawback to having such a smart bunny is that if he's bored, he shows it by chewing! He needs new and stimulating toys every month or so. The only thing he doesn't get bored of are toys that make noise or ones I can hide treats in. Havanas are such a sweet breed. I rub my little man's head until he falls asleep; sometimes he even snores! I had a dwarf rabbit before, but nothing compares to these Havanas!

Hiya i have a blue Havana rabbit, I had him given to me when he was 6 weeks old. His name is Smokey Blue and he almost 6 years old now. The lady who gave him to me said that his dad was 17 years old. I have always had rabbits from being a child but he is one of the best I have had and the kids love him. He is very cheeky and is always after a cuddle. I would recommend this bread to anyone as they make the best pets. Mine even lies with my dog every night when he comes out of his hutch.

I found an abondond rabbit, after 3 months she died. Her name was scooter. I miss her, she was my favorite. I still have two rex dalmations after I found another, one is an albino white and her name is snowy. The dalmation rexes are called fumper and floppy. Thay are girls and twins, they were 2 months old when I got them. They are 2 1/2 now. They are not dead and the white one isn't dead. Only scoter is. I will never forget myself, she died of the cold. r.i.

About a year ago I got 2 bunnies from the wood county humane society and I couldn't figure out what breed they were so I looked on the internet and I found out that they are havanas. My 2 havanas are both black and both male and their names are Anica and Cottontail. I never regret getting my bunnies. They bond to there owners very quickly not to mention they are loving, cuddly, and fuzzy. I would recommend rabbits to people who are looking for a quiet, fuzzy, loving, and well behaved companion.

My havanas are both black and both male, there names are Anica and Cottontail and I love them more than anything. Im currently not in 4-h with them but I will be very soon. They both have different ways of getting my attention when they are out of there pen. Anica will come up and nudge me until I pet him and Cottontail will come to me and start licking me! I think bunnies make good pets for young kids but they need to be taught responsibility first because rabbits can get hurt and break there bones easily (they are very sensitive) and the children cannot pick them up 24/7 and they need to be handled in the right way so they dont get hurt. Rabbits would make excellent pets for young children but think about if the rabbit will be loved while the child is young but neglected and abandoned when the child gets older.

You are such good keepers for pets, I wish I had one.

I am one out of three havana breeders in the state of NJ. I have a blue havana, who is my main havana followed by many others, and I'm expecting babies for the second time from her. I'm trying to open my stock to many more of this breed. Out of all my rabbits my havanas are the sweetest.

This year in early april, a friend and I were at the races when we saw some rabbits in despicable conditions. I purchased a little black bundle with the last money I had, without knowing her breed. She is now known to be a havana. I love Ebony so much, and she loves me too. But shes never learned to trust anyone else but me. She is now pregnant and is expecting on the 31st of december! I wouldn't trade her for the world!

The black one looks exactly like my Rabbit, called Shadow, who died recently. It says he is a show rabbit just like Shadow. How freaky!

I recently got this 12 week old spunky black bunny from the state fair. I was told it's a silver marten but he looks so much more like a Havana. He's all black with silver hair tips. His body shape and size is that of a Havana as well. His name is Bandit and he's a real sweetheart. He has a lot of nicks and marks from being attacked by the other bunnies he was pinned with, but they all seem to be healing well. He's super lovable with me, but doesn't like many other people. He acts shy even around my mom but when it's just me and him, he's a hoppin fool and does the "Bunny 500" around my room. But he's also a big cuddler and will jump on my bed and crawl up next to me for attention. I've only had him for about a week and I already love him to pieces. He's spoiled rotten but he deserves it. His last owner didn't seem to take very good care of him, but I surely will. He's already a happy, getting healthy bunny.

I own up to 30 or 40 havanas but i don't keep them for pets, i show them and i love having them. They are the calmest rabbits i have ever had the honor of showing at a rabbit show. When i heard i was going to show havanas i thought they were going to be a little mean, but the first time i showed them i loved it. I got best four class and best in show over my sister, and she has won a lot of best in show.

I have a baby female black havana that is so cute! and she always loves to play with me. Whenever i get up to walk she will just run around my feet! and when ever i just rap her in a blanket and hold her she will just fall asleep on my arm! i love her so much and will never let her go. i might even get her a sister to play with. that is pretty much all i have to say now.

deidra 2007-08-02

I think my rabbit Floppy is part Havana Rabbit, and my other rabbit, Skitsy a Dark Havana. They are both cute.

Jeremy 2007-07-18

I've had my Havana, Phantom, for three years now. I love her to death because she is so calm and loves being petted between her ears. She helped me to win Super Showmanship two years in a row. I make fun of my brother and sister's rabbits because they are constantly getting dirty, but Phantom hardly needs any cleaning. I'm glad I found this wonderful breed.

in l977 I placed the last bunny in my Havana award winning line in a Los Angeles grade school. Every summer the teacher took the female home to a hutch in the back of her yard, and all during the school year the rabbit ran around the classroom with the kids. in l985 I received a post card in my new city, Vancouver, British Columbia, noting that she had quietly passed on, the last of her bloodline. Fabulous breed, so easily handled, and gentle.

We have a beautiful black havana rabbit named Licorice. She is trained to use a litter box and she is very sweet. She is quiet and can stay alone for 3-4 days when we go on vacation. She loves treats but hates carrots! She likes to play with paper towel cardboard holders. Matthew age 7

i did not have this rabbit but had a dutch rabbit. we love him 2 pieces but we have this problem where she keeps jumping out the cage. we have a guinea pig in with her as well, when ever we pick the guinea pig up and not her, she goes crazy running around the cage frantically because she cant find him, bless her! tis funny how they have there own little personalities.

My chocolate havana was named Buck Rogers. He was quite a guy. He absolutely loved Animal Cracker cookies and Vanilla Wafers. I accidently left an open box on the floor in the living room once and he stuck his nose in and had a few. If I ever walked in the room with a box of cookies he could smell them and came for a treat. We only gave him one a day so he wouldn't get sick, and these are lower in sugar than most cookies and they have no chocolate. He seemed to prefer Sunshine Vanilla Wavers over Keebler. Occasionally if we needed to catch him and he was being uncooperative we would bring out the cookie box, shake it, and announce "Cookie Time". He would get very cooperative in order to get a cookie. He figured this out eventually, but didn't seem to mind getting caught since the result was getting a cookie.

My havana rabbit is really sweet! When I hold hers she does not poop on you like other animals. The havana rabbit does not shed as much as other bunnies do. This is really helpful if some one in the family has allergies.

We just entered our Havana Bunny in the 4-H fair this weekend and she won best of breed and best of show! She is a beauty, but a little more on the feisty side! Cameron, age 9 and Katie~Bug, age 8 from Indiana

I had a havana for nearly 8 years before she passed away. I miss my Pepper so much. They really are the best pet you could possibly have. It was a wonderful privilege to be with my Peppy and she is very much missed.

I have a Havana who will be 4 on April 1st. and she is the funnest rabbit in the world! shes my baby girl. She is very protective of the various rugs lying around my house, and can and will chase down anyone who steps on them. She dislikes being held by anyone but me. i am the only one (this makes me feel super special!). i Love my Coco bean!

Briel 2006-03-14

I have had a havana doe for 5 years and it is my favourite breed. It is the best rabbit to own as they are very friendly towards people.

I have a black doe. im not sure if i want to breed or show her. i think i might breed her and then show her, because there's no rabbit shows around my parts.

Tonya 2005-10-25

your rabbits are very nice looking i adore them

no tell 2005-10-12

I have a Rabbit his name is Cadberry. He looks exactly like a brown Havana breed. The scary part is, his dad is a black Dutch and his mom is a Mini Rex. I think I bred a Havana!

Sarah 2005-09-10

We have two and are very pleased with their temperment and their size. They are very friendly, not shy at all, and don't seem to have the attitude that our Hollands and Dwarfs get. We are looking forward to breeding them in the coming year. Aran, Wood County, WV

These rabbits are easy to get hooked onto and are simple in their needs. Many people fall in love with the beauty of the fur and the color of the rabbit. The Havana was my first rabbit and is my favorite out of all 45 breeds, although they do get a little on the "heavy" side, they don't eat much and love people.

Bailey Futterknecht 2005-07-10

I have a beautiful black havana buck. I am thinking of showing him in April at the same fair where I bought him. He is sweet and loving. When we got him he looked like a little mouse so I named him Mickey Mouse. Its his show name but he comes to any name even my dog's name! He is really cute and he loves licking your face!

Jenna 2005-06-24

I have one and she's the most loving rabbit I've owned. she's actually protective which is the most cutest thing ever!!!!

Jessica Richardson 2005-06-23

I have several, they're all very curious and live outside. They're shy, but love visitors and new items. Overall, they're very friendly.

Jennifer 2005-05-13

My chocolate brown havana, Peter, is a beautiful un-neutered male. I am thinking of breeding havanas!

April Payne 2005-05-13

These rabbits are great companions and very good pets. I deeply encourage any one to have a Havana. They are very lovable pets and will love you no matter what. They give such joy and happiness to your life and you will never feel alone.

Valeria E. Rodriguez 2005-04-25

they are so darn cute

Marisa 2005-04-11

I would greatly encourage any one to have a Havana as a pet. Mine was wonderful and a great companion. If you do choose these pets and do not wish to breed them please have them spayed. I tradegically lost my most loved pet of 4 years to uterine cancer on January 6th 2005. They are so lovable and sweet. They do not hesitate to show you that they love you. I will miss her deeply. They will endear themselves to you and will add a light to you life.
