Mollies, alluring aquarists for over a century!

The Molly has so many good qualities; it has firmly held its place at the top of aquarium favorites for hundreds of years!

If you want fish that are attractive and active, topped off with hassle free breeding, these are the ones. Indeed, they will breed so prolifically you should plan for a lot of offspring. They are easy to care for, and very friendly and peaceful with all other community fish too.

Their color selections just can’t be beat, covering the full spectrum of the rainbow in blues, yellows, reds and greens. Add beautiful top fins to that, either Shortfin or Sailfin. Then tag on some incredible tailfins ranging from Moontails, Veiltails, and Lyretails, and you’ll have a beautiful aquarium showcase!

Mollies are practically aquarium staples in many households. They are very durable and an informed aquarist will have little trouble keeping them happy and healthy.

The Black Molly and the pretty Sailfin Mollies are especially well known and beloved. Now there is also a very unique variety called the Balloon Molly. Balloon Mollies were developed to be extremely short and round. They are really cute, but this breeding causes an unnatural curvature of the spine, which unfortunately can shorten their lifespan.

Keeping a group of brightly adorned Mollies is truly an eye-catching experience. They will keep the aquarium hopping, and their behavior and personalities with each other is a blast to watch. Whether you’re just starting out or are an experienced aquarist, the bright active Mollies will quickly earn your respect and be some of the most rewarding aquarium fish you’ll ever keep. These guys will be alluring aquarist for the next century too!
