Tennessee Walking Horse
Tennessee Walking Horse
"These babies are smooth! If you EVER get a chance to ride a Tennessee Walker, you will have one of the most enjoyable horseback riding experiences of you life!"
The sturdy Tennessee Walking Horse with its distinctive gaits,
can be ridden comfortably for hours!
The Tennessee Walking Horse is a breed which originated in the Southeast United States. Wealthy southern plantation owners had a need for tractable, comfortable, and hardy horses that could stand up to the rigors of hours of daily riding while out inspecting the operations of their enormous plantation properties. The Tennessee Walking Horse served this purpose.
The Tennessee Walker has distinctive gaits which make it easy to ride over long distances at a comfortable and efficient rate of speed. Today they are used for pleasure and trail riding. Pleasure bred, or flat shod walking horses make excellent family and children’s trail horses. They are an excellent choice for riders with physical limitations because of their smooth way of going. Tennessee Walking Horses are also bred for the show arena for shows designed to exhibit the special talents of the gaited breed.
In 1935 the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association was formed with ‘Black Allan’ as the foundation sire of the breed. In 1947 the name changed to the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association, or TWHBEA. Since then, over 450,000 Tennessee Walking Horses have been registered in all 50 states.

Rosette Plants
"Lattice and lace are the order of the day! The Rosette Plants are the ornamental plants of the planted aquarium. They do need some special care but the rewards are awesome!"
Rosette plants are those that have a shortened stem axis
and tend to be more ornamental!
Rosette Plants are the ornamental plants of the aquarium. These plant structure of the rosettes are described as having a ’shortened stem axis’ which creates very beautiful leafy plant. They can be used in groups or can be used individually as a stand alone plant. A single rosette plant can be the stunning focal point in your aquarium design.
Most of the Rosette plants are lattice plants and require
more specialized plant care than the other groups for good plant growth. They reproduce asexually by runners
and most will grow emersed under water and produce flowers. Environmental requirements include: soft, slightly
acidic water ( pH of 5.5-6.5 and 2-3° CH), abundantly available
fertilization, and cooler temperatures (60-72° F).
Cute Pet Dog – Ella

Ella
"Check ou the best dressed pup of the year!"
2009-07-21
Here’s what Jocelynne Vachon says about Ella:
"Ella loves to play with the toilet paper rolls and knocking them into the toilet. She also loves to run around endlessly for hours just to make mischief. "
"Ella looks great in her pink outfit. What a cutie! Thanks for sharing her with us."
Starlight Macaw
Starlight Macaw
"What a show off! I think it knows… very popular macaw parents can make very popular macaw offspring, and the Starlight macaw is truly that!"
This Starlight Macaw must surely know how attractive it is,
raising its wings to show off its beautiful colors!
The Starlight Macaw is a hybrid macaw whose parents are a Scarlet Macaw and a Miligold Macaw. One of its parents, the Scarlet Macaw, is a species of naturally occurring macaws while the other, the Miligold Macaw, is also a hybrid macaw. Hybrid macaws are bred for color, and this bird demonstrates some very strong color influences from its parentage. The Starlight Macaw is a second generation hybrid macaw and was developed from these crossings:
- 1st – Blue and Gold Macaw crossed with a Military Macaw = Miligold Macaw
- 2nd – Miligold Macaw crossed with a Scarlet Macaw = Harligold Macaw
Because hybrid macaws are a mixture of more than one type of macaw, the offspring are influenced by the traits and characteristics of both of its parents. Father’s have the dominant gene, so this will generally influence the offspring’s coloration and overall appearance. The Starlight Macaw pictured above has a Scarlet Macaw father and a Miligold mother.

Shih Tzu – Jeffrey

Jeffrey
"Smart as a whip… and young at heart!"
2009-07-21
Here’s what Victoria Phillips says about Jeffrey:
"Jeffrey is four years old, but acts as if he’s still a puppy! He bounces around, yips, and bites our ankles. He always demands that we pick him up and put him on our couch when he can already easily jump up, or he whines at us to carry him down the stairs when he’s perfectly capable of doing it himself. He’s a spoiled little shih-tzu, but we love him to bits."
"Jeffrey sounds like Jeffrey is a great companion! Young at heart and something of an attention getter. What a cute puppy. Thanks for sharing him here."

Rubalina Macaw
"What do you get when you cross a Ruby with a Catalina?… Potpourri! Oh yes, this bird is all about color. A mixture of beautiful vibrant colors, but you won’t know what it’s gonna look like until it gets feathers!"
The Rubalina Macaw is all about beautiful colors
with each bird being a potpourri of its own!
The Rubalina Macaw is a hybrid cross between a Ruby Macaw (hybrid) and a Catalina Macaw (hybrid). Being a cross between a Ruby
and a Catalina gives this interesting macaw a lot of varying factors, both in color and in personality. It is a third generation hybrid and is influenced by the genes of three different species of macaws. This hybrid macaw was developed from these crossings:
- 1st – Scarlet Macaw crossed with a Green-winged Macaw = Ruby Macaw
- 2nd – Scarlet Macaw crossed with a Blue and Gold Macaw = Catalina Macaw
- 3rd – Ruby Macaw crossed with a Catalina Macaw = Rubalina Macaw
Pony of the Americas
Pony of the Americas
"I RULE… Why you ask? Because not only an I ‘American Made’, but I am arguably the best pony for kids. After all, I was developed just for children!"
A popular breed, the Pony of the Americas is one of the newer pony breeds!
The Pony of the Americas is an ideal riding horse for children due to its small stature, athleticism, and gentle personality. For young equestrian riders, who are too big for the smaller ponies yet not quite ready for a full sized horse, the Pony of the Americas is a perfect match. The growing popularity of the Pony of the Americas lends itself to being a breed for children to ride and show. It is a pony breed with a good appearance, speed, and stamina. Yet at the same time this breed is less intimidating for children. Its size is more closely matched to the young rider, making it easier to train, handle and ride, and also easier to groom.
Shetland Ponies
Shetland Pony
"I may not be big, but I am strong. I can pull twice my weight… compare that to a wimpy Draft horse that can only pull half its weight! (Oops… I hope they didn’t hear me say that… they ARE bigger after all!)"
Shetland Pony is the strongest horse for its size
and can pull up to twice its own weight!
These are hardy and strong ponies built to withstand extreme cold and limited nutritional resources. The development of the Shetland Pony is the result of over 2000 years of living on the Shetland Islands, off the northern coast of Scotland. Here the environment is extremely cold and windy in the winter, and the terrain is very rugged. Their diet is made up of rough heather and grasses able to grow in the thin acid soil, and some seaweed washing up on the shore. Shetland Ponies are an extremely tough and durable breed, with a thick double coat in the winter, and a thick mane and tail to provide extra warmth.
Hybrid Macaw – Harigold
Harligold Macaw
"Har har har… see how well I can pose for the camera! With a double dose of Blue and Gold Macaw in the mix, this sweet tempered intelligent macaw is known as a Harligold!"
The Harligold Macaw is a very pretty bird
with a double dose of the intelligent, gentle natured Blue and Gold Macaw!
Hybrid macaws are bred for color, and the Harligold Macaw is a real beauty. This macaw is a second generation hybrid macaw. One of its parents, the Blue and Gold Macaw, is a species of naturally occurring macaws while the other, the Harlequin Macaw, is also a hybrid macaw. This second generation hybrid macaw was developed from these crossings:
- 1st – Blue and Gold Macaw crossed with a Green-winged Macaw = Harlequin Macaw
- 2nd – Harlequin Macaw crossed with a Blue and Gold Macaw = Harligold Macaw
With the Harlequin Macaw (having a Blue and Gold Macaw and a Green-winged Macaw for parents) you have a macaw that is a real beauty and good natured. The Blue and Gold macaw is renowned not only for its beauty and sweet nature, but also its speaking ability. While the other parent, the strikingly handsome ‘gentle giant’ Green-winged Macaw, lends its beauty and a very gentle, amiable nature.
