I have been working on short videos for many of the fish at animal-world. See the example below of the Garibaldi, a damselfish found in coastal waters of the eastern Pacific, like California. The first time I went under the water as a training scuba diver, one of these swam up to my face and looked me directly in the eye. Needless to say, I was hooked on scuba diving from then on!
The Garibaldi Damselfish is a ‘cheeky fish’!
The Garibaldi Damselfish is found in coastal waters of the Eastern Central Pacific Ocean where the water is cooler than tropical locations. We have see this fish in the kelp forests off the California coast in conjunction with the cooler water Catalina Goby, named for an island off the California coast. They are known to divers as ‘cheeky fish’ since they are curious and unafraid of divers. The Garibaldi is one of the largest fish in the damselfish family, it is a striking orange color, and as a juvenile, is marked with many blue spots. The fins of the juvenile are also outlined in blue adding to its beauty.
The Garibaldi Damselfish is a very long-lived fish, it can live up to 25 years. This damselfish should be housed in an aquarium of at least 100 gallons with plenty of live rock to accomodate their territorial nature. They are extremely aggressive towards their own kind, and only one Garibaldi should be kept in a single aquarium. The diet should include various meaty foods, herbivore preparations, and flaked foods.
The Garibaldi is sexually dimorphic; the male is larger than the female and also has a lobe on the front of the head.
These fish have not been successfully bred in captivity.

Beautiful hybrid macaws! These birds are bred for color and it shows. There are many kinds of hybrids from the favorites, like the Shamrock Macaw and Catalina Macaw, to those that do not yet have a name.
If you ask yourself, What are hybrid macaws?, here you can learn about them and the difference between hybrids and mutations. See a glimps into the efforts of aviculture aiding both wild caught macaws and pet birds.
As far as bird characteristics, well picking a hybrid macaw is a bit like choosing from a box of chocolates. You can guess what youre going to get, but still be surprised. Check it out, very cool stuff!

Justice, Milou, and Scamp – Cuteness Cubed

Justice, Scamptastic Rapscallion, and Milou
"A trio of cute! WAY OFF the cuteness meter scale."

Here’s what Mandie Ross says about Justice, Scamptastic Rapscallion, and Milou:
"Justice is 8, and shes the ‘old spinster’ of the family. She likes to lie by herself, in quiet, and not be bothered by the other two youngsters. She has the saddest meow i ever heard in a cat. She actually did not meow until she was nearly 2 – we thought she might be mute because all she did was squeak. She used to be much more cuddly and whatnot – until my other cat Figaro, a male russian blue/calico mix was stolen from my apartment when it was broken into. They were best friends/husband and wife, and had had many kittens together, slept together, cleaned each other.. when he went missing she got rather cold and distant. Now she is getting better years later, but she is still not the same sadly. I know cats are not monogamous, but it definetly had an effect on her. Milo is Justice’s kitten – hes 6. Hes a troublemaker, but hes funny! Hes been beating up on his poor mother for 6 years now. Not violently but he definetly picks on her and plays pranks on her, and the poor thing just wants quiet in her old age. He likes to hide behind corners and jump out and scare the crap out of her. He also stares her down, and you can tell he is just being mischeivous because of the look on his face. Milo and scamp are the best of buds. They clean each other, play, fight, argue over treats, and generally hang around together since Justice doesn’t want anything to do with them. Milo is a little.. whats the p.c. word here.. slow? Challenged? The vet said there is nothing really wrong with him, but hes a little slow on the draw. As a kitten he would walk into walls, fall down stairs, and trip over things, or walk off the edge of tables. pretty funny but I feel bad for the poor guy. Its not his vision, and its not hearing or anything. He just takes a little longer to get the hang of things, lol. He is also a little tiny bit crosseyed, so was his father(figaro). This makes him extra cute. Hes just special. Scamp is only 2. hes the baby of the family. You can’t really tell by the picture, but hes actually chocolate brown rather than black. Especially when hes sitting in the sunshine, hes a really interesting color. His brother was actually lighter milk chocolate color – sadly he got out a front door of my friends house at five months, ran right into the road, and instantly was killed by a car going by. All within the space of about 40 seconds. So sad Scamp is a really interesting cat. Hes extremely loving and snuggly. He likes to drape himself across shoulders – paws hanging down one side, and feet hanging down the other side. He also has a whopping 27 toes, and three claws with no toes attached. He even has extra bones in his back feet, they are REALLY weird. Sadly, the vet thinks he will probably end up somewhat crippled in his back feet when he is old, as she thinks the way they developed leaves them at high risk or bone trouble like arthritis. I plan to get him a kitty wheelchair when the time comes I’ve thought about having him declawed, but I can’t bear to do it. plus if he ever got outside.. he would have no way to defend himself. He is also a giant pig – he will steal milos treats right out from under his nose. He also will push the other cats away from the food dishes and eat there food. I have to keep out three dishes now, to make sure they all get enough. Scamp sleeps at the foot of the bed everynight watching over the baby, until I go to bed too. then he comes up by my head and curls up in one of my arms and drapes himself over my wrist. He will sleep their all night. The only bad thing about this is if he has to get up to eat or poop or something, he walks on me, and with 27 claws, that can be quite painful! LOL.
