Mixed Dog Breeds

Mixed dogs are crossbreeds that make up the hybrid dogs, the ‘designer’ dogs, and the mutt!
MIxed dogs consists of many different types of dogs.
As most of these are not recognized purebreds, they are not considered ‘breeds’, However some of the hybrid dogs and the designer dogs, are breeds in the making.
Though a large majority of the hybrid dogs and designer dogs may not yet qualify for dog registries, many are favored as family pets. Those that are recognized by registries have a strongly demonstrated interest, and breeding activity going on. When a registry sees that there is a serious and expanding breeding effort, these dogs may be admitted as new ‘breeds’ into a miscellaneous group.

Hound Dog Breeds

The Hound dogs are well know as fantastic hunting dogs, bred primarily to seek and hunt prey!
Hound dogs hunt either by sight or sound,
but all have one trait in common, stamina. These dog breeds include the Sighthounds, Scent Hounds, and those that hunt by both sight and scent including the Spitz Hounds.
Many Hound dogs make very good companions. The Scent hounds for example, are very much like rambunctious children.
Yet some of the hound dogs would rather be hunting than anything else. These dogs some may seem a bit distant and aloof, that is part of their nature. Focused hunting dogs, especially the Spitz, can have a very hard time sitting still or paying attention. Their minds are actively seeking and they are instinctively ready for the chase.

Some photos of a dive trip to Sabang Bay near the town of Puerto Galera in the Philipinnes. This is a banded sea snake that we followed up a wall, over a flat, and then up to the surface. I caught him just as he was passing another diver on the way to the surface. It is amazing there are no bubbles obscuring the snake in the photo!
A Little Zoo

A Little Zoo
"Truly a Little Zoo of Cute!"

Here’s what shil says about A Little Zoo:
"1. These lovebirds are my latest collection! Actually dad bought them, does anybody have any idea how should I tame them at home so that I don’t have to cage them.
2. My innocent boy Casu! He was a moma’s boy so is very shy of others!
3. Mimi, my prince, he spends his time eating in the morning and then sleeping for 6 hrs and later goes out for a stroll, such a comfortable life
4. Dimpu, well she was an angel, the most understanding pet ever in this world. She’s no more but left behind casu, her son, for us. She is little weak in this picture due to the birth of casu. Casper looked like the white ghost “Casper” when he was small, so I named him Casper."

Ribby
"See if you can find Ribby the Rabbit in the pictures!"
2008-11-08
"Yipes… Ribby is the coolest looking rabbit we’ve EVER seen! Heres a little about the breed in general from Animal-World
English Angora: This breed is probably the most distinctive since it has long heavy fur that covers it’s body so that it is hard to tell the rabbit features like it’s ears and face. (It is often mistaken for a small dog). Its body is rounded and so it literally looks like a ball of fluff. The fur on the face is fairly short and if you look closely you will see a doll baby face with large round eyes. There are fluffy tassels of wool lining the ears and the wool is silky and fine which makes it very soft.
Most English angoras are very calm having being bred for good disposition in order to properly groom them. The English may grow to about 8.5 lbs. but is better to show at about 6 lbs."

Herding Dog Breeds

Herding dog breeds are particularly intelligent and lively!
These dogs are primarily used on farms
to move livestock between fields, drive it to market, and a few were developed as guard dogs. Many are still used for this today.
Herding dogs are not aggressive, but being bred to move large animals, they may have a tendency towards nipping and herding. They require owners that have the time and energy to keep up with them. They are highly trainable but need an activity to focus on. They respond well to firm, consistent, and positive training rather than harsh reprimands.
Herding Dog Backgrounds
For hundreds of years, the need to control livestock spurred the development of herding dogs. Though these dogs often worked independently, it also fostered a special partnership between man and dog. Without the aid of such dogs, people throughout the world would have been hard put to work their livestock, or get it to market.
