Rab
"They just don’t get any cuter than this folks!"
2008-08-23
Here’s what Kelly White says about Rab:
"The Rab is the cutest, cuddliest, most gentle and loving bunny. I spend so much time with him, he is small enough to carry around the house and snuggle on the couch or in bed. He is very clean and toilet trained. He loves having a hop in the garden and when its time to be caught he just sits there to be picked up for a cuddle! I love him with all my heart. I think he is the cutest and best rabbit in the whole world!"
"Rab looks and sounds like the most endearing pet in the world! He almost looks like a panda rabbit with those markings. How cute!"

Silkie Guinea Pig
"Some people say ‘go for the gold’, but I say… "go for the SILK!"
8/14/2008
The coat of the beautiful Silkie Guinea Pig sweeps back over its body like a cloak!
The Silkie is an attractive long-haired Guinea pig. It is popular as a pet, and even more popular on the show table. Silkies have lovely locks unlike any other guinea pig.
Their hair is very soft and shiny. Show Silkies are a sight to behold. It’s hard to resist petting a Silkie!
This breed is rather high-maintenance, so it is probably not the best choice for a young child. Even adults who keep Silkies as pets will often trim their hair to keep from having to groom constantly. With their good looks and sparkling guinea pig personalities, they make a fine choice for a dedicated owner…. (Read More)

Peruvian Guinea Pig
"NO, I’m not a mop! I just look like a mop… though my hair needs a trim, to keep it out of my mouth when I’m snacking!"
8/14/2008
A most notable Peruvian Guinea Pig can have hair length that reaches 20" or more!
The Peruvian Guinea Pig is generally obtained as a show animal. It has long, flowing hair that makes it a favorite of show judges. Its tresses require extra care, but their beauty is beyond compare.
Peruvian Guinea Pigs have the trademark guinea pig personality: Curious, fun-loving and alert. The biggest concern when keeping them as pets is the extensive grooming required. Those who do not plan to show them often remedy this by keeping their hair trimmed to a length that won’t tangle or get dirty so easily… (more)

Coyote in Winter – Yellowstone National Park

People familiar with coyotes of southern climates often mistake the coyote in this photo for a wolf. With that beautiful thick fur it’s no wonder, but coyote (canis latrans) it is. This particular animal was photographed in Yellowstone National Park in the middle of winter (hence the thick coat). I was with a small group of photographer friends that hired a snowcoach to take us into the interior of the park. A snowcoach is like a small bus but instead of tires it has metal tracks like you’d see on a military tank. We traveled into the park early in the morning Read more

Coronet Guinea Pig
"I have attitude, I have the moves, and I have the hair!"
8/14/2008
The uniqueness of the Coronet Guinea Pig lies in its crest,
with a large rosette right on the top of its head!
The Coronet Guinea Pig is one of the long-haired guinea pig breeds. It is similar to the Silkie Guinea Pig, but the Coronet has with a coronet or "rosette" in the middle of the head. This distinctive whorl of fur is lacking in the Silkie. This emerging breed is quite the showstopper.
Coronets are playful, curious and affectionate. They crave attention, and between their funny antics and unusual look, they attract it naturally. Whether you want a fun yet cuddly pet or a show animal, the Coronet Guinea Pig is a fine choice.
