Polo
"A most colorful bird… but thats not all!"
2009-11-03

Here’s what Valerie Cook says about Polo:

"I just got polo about 6 months ago. I thought it wouldnt take him time to get used to me. now he is just the love of our lives, he brings us so much joy. The funniest thing he has done to me so far is: i was sitting on the couch one day reading a book and polo was sitting on his couch and i could hear him moving around. well, then i felt these long toe nails on my foot, I thought it was my dog and when I looked down polo was on my foot looking up at me and he said come here! When he came to live with us he had a small vocabulary and I would say in 6 months he has learned about 20 new words. He also loves to antagonize my dogs, he will get down on the floor and chase them around the house.
I have a mini dashound and a 6 lb. min pin."

Starlight MacawStarlight Macaw
"What a show off! I think it knows… very popular macaw parents can make very popular macaw offspring, and the Starlight macaw is truly that!"

This Starlight Macaw must surely know how attractive it is,

raising its wings to show off its beautiful colors!

The Starlight Macaw is a hybrid macaw whose parents are a Scarlet Macaw and a Miligold Macaw. One of its parents, the Scarlet Macaw, is a species of naturally occurring macaws while the other, the Miligold Macaw, is also a hybrid macaw. Hybrid macaws are bred for color, and this bird demonstrates some very strong color influences from its parentage. The Starlight Macaw is a second generation hybrid macaw and was developed from these crossings:

Because hybrid macaws are a mixture of more than one type of macaw, the offspring are influenced by the traits and characteristics of both of its parents. Father’s have the dominant gene, so this will generally influence the offspring’s coloration and overall appearance. The Starlight Macaw pictured above has a Scarlet Macaw father and a Miligold mother.

"What do you get when you cross a Ruby with a Catalina?… Potpourri! Oh yes, this bird is all about color. A mixture of beautiful vibrant colors, but you won’t know what it’s gonna look like until it gets feathers!"

The Rubalina Macaw is all about beautiful colors

with each bird being a potpourri of its own!

The Rubalina Macaw is a hybrid cross between a Ruby Macaw (hybrid) and a Catalina Macaw (hybrid). Being a cross between a Ruby
and a Catalina gives this interesting macaw a lot of varying factors, both in color and in personality. It is a third generation hybrid and is influenced by the genes of three different species of macaws. This hybrid macaw was developed from these crossings:

If he enjoys what he is eating he will say mmmm and when we had the blades on our fan he would climb over to it and spin himself on it like a merry go round. He was breaking it so we took the blades off the fan."
