Description:
The picture looks like Muriceopsis flavida but may not be. Purple Bush is pinnate with round branches that point up. The branches are round and thicker than the Pseudopterogorgia species that it could be confused with. They are a photosynthetic gorgonian found in the Caribbean.

Lighting - Water flow:
They require strong currents and a good light source.

Difficulty of Care:
I haven't found information yet on how well they do in the aquarium.
   See Care of Photosynthetic Gorgonians.

Aggressiveness:
This species sometimes produces sweeper tenacles to sting its neighbors so be careful that it is not close enough to injure others.

I have had my purple with yellow flowers gorgonian like the one pictured for about 2 years. It is in excellent condition and has grown fantastic in halide lighting with a nice, moderate flow. It requires phytoplankton and a steady base. Most people sink these in the sand and they did. The base requires adheration to a rock, and preferably to the side, and it will do well in good lighting in a tank where phyto is fed.
