Patrick Monaghans' 310 Gallon Reef

Check out Patricks' complete description and the coral fragments he has available at: spsfrags.com
My tank is:
310 gallon custom made acrylic tank (96" X 30" X 25")
Oak stand with a separate area to house the ballasts (avoid adding heat to the
sump) & an oak canopy.
Lighting:
5 400 watt German 10K Metal Halides
4 96 watt blue power compacts
4 160 watt actinic URI VHO's
The canopy is fan cooled and the tank temperature is maintained with a chiller.
Filtration:
Wet dry with two homemade protein skimmers.
Refugiums (to keep the nitrates at 0)
UV Sterilizer which keeps my powder blue tang ich free!
Supplements:
Kent Marine Tech I - 1x / week
Kent Marine Tech M - 1x / week
Kent Marine Strontium & Molybdenum - 2x / week
Kent Marine PhytoPlex - 2x / month
K2R calcium reactor used to maintain calcium and alkalinity
Water Flow:
Two Mag 2400's are used to pump water from the sump and into two 1" sea
swirls.
I have around 50 fish and over 90 corals at the present time. I feed the fish quite heavily which adds extra nutrients into the tank. I believe this is one reason why I've had such fast growth rates with my corals.
