Can I put a Day gecko in with a whites tree frog? They have the same habitat and I want to know if they're the same size can they be kept together?

These frogs can get 5 inches and do eat meat. Depending on size of gecko, it could be looked at as food.

Please help. I had two Whites tree frogs, until last night when one passed. they hadn't been eating all week, but I assumed it was because my girl friend overfed them a week before. Long story short, I'm afraid the first one died from starvation (all of the other conditions in the tank seem to be alright). The other frog still won't eat, what can I do to make her eat? Thanks in advanced.

Maybe change the food up. Is the humidity right in the tank?
  • David Zaitz - 2012-04-15
temp is 80 in the day and 75 at night. humidity is always between 40% and 50%. I went out and bought meal worms, wax worms, and even smaller crickets(just incase if the others were too big).

I Have a Whites tree frog named Mr. Croaker and I keep seeing photos of bright green Whites Tree frogs. Why is he not like that?

White’s Tree Frogs, like all tree frogs, can change color depending on environmental conditions. Things like temperature, humidity, light intensity, health, and the color of their surroundings can affect what color a White’s tree frog is.

Also there is some different coloraton between these frogs. I've seen them from sort of red to green to grey to even sort of blue.

Mr. Croaker is normal! I have a couple White s Tree Frogs and they have a large difference in their color spectrum. Some White TFs even have SPOTS and may develop more as they age. As long as there isn't drastic change in behavior, then he's perfectly normal. Not all humans look the same, and frogs are similar in that sense.

I'm getting a pair of WTFs and I have a 50 watt infrared bulb heating the tank. My room gets bright enough during the day to take the place of a bulb that gives off light. Does this sound ok in terms of light and heat?

Depending on the size of the tank, it should be. Obviously if it's a huge tank you will need more of a heating source. What are you using for humidity?

I have a 18 inch tall Money Tree plant for a 12x12x18 tank. I spray the tank with spring water when humidity gets below 40.

If it is actually blind there is nothing you can do. He will learn his way around the tank and be comfortable. Leave food in the same place each time and if possible help him to become familar with the tank placing him back in in the same place each time. He is not going to know he is blind - it just is what it is to him as long as he learns the tank.

Two days ago I became the proud owner of a white's tree frog! I
named her Ibbet and he's so much fun (especially when my niece
and nephews come over) but I didn't buy her at the pet store. I got
her from a "friend of a friend" and she came to me with a sore on her
nose. It seems to be a little better but I wonder what caused it in the
first place! Could it be from bacteria or could she have scraped it? Is there
anything I can put on it till it heals?

Try reading the article on the tree frog. Just click on it. We would need more information as to what you think it is, what it looks like, what is happening to attempt to make any kind of determination as to what is happening. Is the little guy eating and drinking? Is he lethargic? Does it look like it is infected or any yellow around the sore? Does it look like a scrape etc? Try to keep the area clean with distilled water and a q tip.
Let us know more information if possible. OK?

I think it may have just scraped its nose. I have had a few frogs that did that it heals just fine. They may have a scar but nothing too severe.

I am a wreck right now. My little friend douggie, a whites tree frog, escaped from his cage, and was out overnight. When we found him he was dried up, and presumed dead. We picked him up and felt a bit of movement, so we decided it would be best to try and revive him and put him in the water. Well he is alive and well now, but his skin is discolored and he has developed blister like welts on his body. Will he get better? Are these going to be battle scars that he can show off to his friends? Or is this a sign of something much worse that needs to be dealt with?
